• No coffee pots in room, no place to eat at reasonable price

“It was OK. Did not get to spend much time there to give a fair assessment. Staff at desk was courteous. Did not like not having affordable dining and no coffee pots in the room.”

• Great staff when you call in and ask for assistance but when there were problems during your stay, they were slow to act..
• Inability to rectify uncomfortable situations.

“Hotel put us on 2nd floor where they knew a wedding was going on...we stayed for two nights and they could have foreseen that the wedding music and party would go well into the night...we could not sleep because of the bass from the DJ...when we complained, they said it should stop but it never did and no offer to make things right either.”

• We liked the convenience to the shopping areas.

“This hotel had great desk staff who facilitated our arrival as well as our departure. The only situation I was surprised at was when my husband and myself were in our room a staff used their key and unlocked the door - saw us there and asked if we wanted a fridge. I felt he should have knocked before using his key.”

• Nice lobby, great meeting facilities, very good fitness center.
• Room was too small for two queen beds side chair, and desk. There was no practical place for the side chair.

“Quality hotel with convenient access to the interstate and major roads. Great restaurant on site. Top notch fitness center and pool that has just about everything that a commercial facility would have.”

• Had to pay $12.95 for internet access, room was small.

• Very clean and quite, the hotel is brand new !
• On the reception Victoria was not that cooperate and the Asian lady in the morning as well, not pro.

“Very good hotel. Nice, very clean and everything is new and updated. I have been visiting this hotel for the last five years and I still don't want to stay somewhere else. This Marriott is the best Marriott I have ever seen. The location is very nice in troy-MI and there is a big mall two blocks away, Panera bread cafe and bunch of restaurants around. The high way 75 is one block away go north and south. This hotel is in the middle of everything and I really recommend it for any kind of trip.”

• The accommodations and staff made me feel pampered.
• It is on a four lane divided road that does not provide easy access.

“From the time one enters the hotel, the impression is one of cleanliness, friendliness, comfortable and a bit of luxury. I would definitely look forward to a repeat stay at the hotel.”

• Bedding, dcor.
• I heard the elevator run all night and had to move rooms!

“Overall it was the quality I would expect from a full service Marriott. However, the first night was interrupted by elevator noise and I had to move. The desk clerk was not helpful at first until I explained I wasn't looking for anything free, I just wanted to move to a quieter room.”

“We had a very positive experience - the hotel was clean, and amenities were good. The staff was great - friendly, helpful and welcoming. The only glitch was our radio alarm went off at 6:02 am - we had planned to sleep in!”

• Wireless internet not free; kids running around hotel, sitting in hallway after midnight.

“We have stayed at the Marriott many times and had no problems. Good location. Good service. This time there was a youth bowling tournament nearby which brought a lot of young kids and adolescents to the hotel. They were always out in the hallway and sitting on the ground even past midnight they could be heard. A lot of candy wrappers and snack refuse accumulated in the halls. I would expect the Marriott to prevent that type of thing. Overall, it wasn't really a nuisance, but it did detract from the quality of the hotel.”

• It was a smoke free facility! Awesome.
• Missed not having a continental breakfast.

“This hotel has a distinctive business atmosphere. We were in the area to watch our grandsons compete, so it was a small vacation for us. The rooms are very clean; the lack of stale smoke in the building was delightful! I was able to breathe all week-end! I would use this hotel again, if I were traveling for business purposes.”

• Glorious linens, very comfortable pillows.
• Bath plug didn't work, but I didn't call about it.

“Very easy to get to off and on I 75. They are completely redoing the hotel and my room was beautiful. The linens were glorious with very comfortable pillows. I slept through the night! Had very good burger & fries in hotel lounge. Would strongly recommend.”

“Hotel is very comfortable. I was upgraded to the concierge level, which was a nice surprise since I spent over $100.00 less than a co-worker who ended up at the same location but booked with the hotel directly. Hotel is entirely non smoking - no smoking rooms in the hotel - so you must go outside to smoke a cigarette if that is something you like to do.”

“When we checked in we were given a room with only a king size bed when we booked a king size bed with a sofa sleeper or two double beds. I went right back to the front desk and they had us in a king bed with a sofa sleeper within minutes. They even offered us a rollaway too. We were traveling with three small children and the room we ended up staying in was twice the size of the first one. It was wonderful and they were very kind and understanding about the whole thing. I would definitely go back there again. The only thing we didnt like was that the pool was freezing cold and from the parking garage to the hotel elevator was quite a hike with no luggage carrier available. But we survived.”

• Good location, nice atmosphere, modern facilities, neat and clean hot tub pool and good work out gym.
• Nothing.

“The Marriott Detroit-troy appears to be a four star hotel with fresh flowers in large vases in the lobby and on the check in desk. Your bed is made-up with quality bedding and even turned down at night. The only thing missing is the chocolates. The toiletries are from bath and body which was a surprise. The shower head was very large and gave provided a nice soft spray. The hotel had a fresh smell about it and it looks very clean at all hours.”

• It was close to the event we attended and the price was what we were looking for.
• There was a youth convention and they were noisy on the first night later they were not.

“Hotel is clean room with a nice view flat screen TV room was cleaned very effectively check in and out was very fast. I like the amount of pillows. This is the first time we do not ask for extra pillows. It was a pleasure to stay there hope we can get the same deal next year we go there for three nights in May to attend a convention.”

• Rooms were nicely decorated, and well maintained.
• House cleaning missed the details. Empty soda can in a drawer, unclean glass, and hair on the floor.

“Overall good experience, safe area, very close to interstate but no road noise. valet service, and good food. would recommend. Parking garage access to hotel was awkward and inconvenient if you park on any level other than the first.”
