• Pool was very warm and clean, bed/pillows were ultra-comfortable.
• Had to pay $12.95 for internet access, room was small.

• Very clean and quite, the hotel is brand new !
• On the reception Victoria was not that cooperate and the Asian lady in the morning as well, not pro.

“Very good hotel. Nice, very clean and everything is new and updated. I have been visiting this hotel for the last five years and I still don't want to stay somewhere else. This Marriott is the best Marriott I have ever seen. The location is very nice in troy-MI and there is a big mall two blocks away, Panera bread cafe and bunch of restaurants around. The high way 75 is one block away go north and south. This hotel is in the middle of everything and I really recommend it for any kind of trip.”

• The accommodations and staff made me feel pampered.
• It is on a four lane divided road that does not provide easy access.

“From the time one enters the hotel, the impression is one of cleanliness, friendliness, comfortable and a bit of luxury. I would definitely look forward to a repeat stay at the hotel.”

• Bedding, dcor.
• I heard the elevator run all night and had to move rooms!

“Overall it was the quality I would expect from a full service Marriott. However, the first night was interrupted by elevator noise and I had to move. The desk clerk was not helpful at first until I explained I wasn't looking for anything free, I just wanted to move to a quieter room.”

• Additional charges to use the internet, which was no better than free internet at cheaper hotels.

• Staff was wonderful; the room was very nice.
• Not well marked at the road.

“We had a very positive experience - the hotel was clean, and amenities were good. The staff was great - friendly, helpful and welcoming. The only glitch was our radio alarm went off at 6:02 am - we had planned to sleep in!”

• Wireless internet not free; kids running around hotel, sitting in hallway after midnight.

“We have stayed at the Marriott many times and had no problems. Good location. Good service. This time there was a youth bowling tournament nearby which brought a lot of young kids and adolescents to the hotel. They were always out in the hallway and sitting on the ground even past midnight they could be heard. A lot of candy wrappers and snack refuse accumulated in the halls. I would expect the Marriott to prevent that type of thing. Overall, it wasn't really a nuisance, but it did detract from the quality of the hotel.”

• It was a smoke free facility! Awesome.
• Missed not having a continental breakfast.

“This hotel has a distinctive business atmosphere. We were in the area to watch our grandsons compete, so it was a small vacation for us. The rooms are very clean; the lack of stale smoke in the building was delightful! I was able to breathe all week-end! I would use this hotel again, if I were traveling for business purposes.”

• I enjoyed the size of the room.
• The maid came into the room without being let in.

“I loved the room. I didn't like how there was only one elevator that went to the rooms. However, the people were very nice and I enjoyed my stay.”

• Glorious linens, very comfortable pillows.
• Bath plug didn't work, but I didn't call about it.

“Very easy to get to off and on I 75. They are completely redoing the hotel and my room was beautiful. The linens were glorious with very comfortable pillows. I slept through the night! Had very good burger & fries in hotel lounge. Would strongly recommend.”

“Hotel is very comfortable. I was upgraded to the concierge level, which was a nice surprise since I spent over $100.00 less than a co-worker who ended up at the same location but booked with the hotel directly. Hotel is entirely non smoking - no smoking rooms in the hotel - so you must go outside to smoke a cigarette if that is something you like to do.”

“The hotel was everything and more that I anticipated. My room was lovely; the interior was spotless and modern, while the view was lovely. I enjoyed the comfort of the bed itself and enjoyed viewing TV on the Plasma/LCD TV.”

“When we checked in we were given a room with only a king size bed when we booked a king size bed with a sofa sleeper or two double beds. I went right back to the front desk and they had us in a king bed with a sofa sleeper within minutes. They even offered us a rollaway too. We were traveling with three small children and the room we ended up staying in was twice the size of the first one. It was wonderful and they were very kind and understanding about the whole thing. I would definitely go back there again. The only thing we didnt like was that the pool was freezing cold and from the parking garage to the hotel elevator was quite a hike with no luggage carrier available. But we survived.”

• Good location, nice atmosphere, modern facilities, neat and clean hot tub pool and good work out gym.
• Nothing.

“The Marriott Detroit-troy appears to be a four star hotel with fresh flowers in large vases in the lobby and on the check in desk. Your bed is made-up with quality bedding and even turned down at night. The only thing missing is the chocolates. The toiletries are from bath and body which was a surprise. The shower head was very large and gave provided a nice soft spray. The hotel had a fresh smell about it and it looks very clean at all hours.”

• It was close to the event we attended and the price was what we were looking for.
• There was a youth convention and they were noisy on the first night later they were not.

“Hotel is clean room with a nice view flat screen TV room was cleaned very effectively check in and out was very fast. I like the amount of pillows. This is the first time we do not ask for extra pillows. It was a pleasure to stay there hope we can get the same deal next year we go there for three nights in May to attend a convention.”

• Rooms were nicely decorated, and well maintained.
• House cleaning missed the details. Empty soda can in a drawer, unclean glass, and hair on the floor.

“Overall good experience, safe area, very close to interstate but no road noise. valet service, and good food. would recommend. Parking garage access to hotel was awkward and inconvenient if you park on any level other than the first.”

• I loved the friendly front desk staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.
• There was nothing I did not like about this hotel.

“Great hotel! Very clean facility. Extremely comfortable bed and sheets. The front desk staff sent us complimentary champagne and strawberries after finding out it was our anniversary. Everything was top notch. Definitely will recommend to friends.”

• The staff was absolutely outstanding.
• The elevator was a little noisy at night.

“We were blown away with how nice this hotel was. We have stayed in 5 star hotels that didn't come close to our experience here. Outstanding in every way. Our room was on the top floor and the only downside to our stay was the elevator motors on the roof were a little noisy each time. One was in use at night, but guest service was quick to provide us with ear plugs and problem solved.”

“This hotel has a great restaurant (Shula's) but very expensive. I enjoyed the pool/fitness area but it was not very new. The rooms are nicely decorated but definitely on the small side. The bathroom was slightly disappointing but the bath and body works products they give are great. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and thought it was a great price I paid by Naming my own price.”

• Comfortable room.
• Charge for everything (breakfast, wireless, etc); always put my husband and I in 2 beds; several glitches with messages, keys, room assignment.

“This is a hotel with comfortable rooms and an attractive lobby, but expect to pay for each and everything other than the room itself, including breakfast (in-room coffee is terrible), wireless internet ($10/day), and so on. After confirming reservations for a king bed, this hotel routinely puts me and my husband in a room with 2 beds (including on our wedding night). This time, the staff member was sent to our room with toothpaste, but no new room keys, to fix the problem. Overall: the building and physical plant are nice; management makes the stay unpleasant. Finally: we were making short-term reservations waiting for my husband's grandmother to die and for the scheduling of the funeral. When our reservations ran out, we were unable to reserve another room in this hotel, and the staff (informed of our situation with the funeral overlapping our check-out time) made no effort to help us. I have had far more accommodating experiences and equally comfortable rooms at far less expensive hotels.”

• Location and amenities were very convenient for our purpose this trip, bed and bedding was very comfortable. No smoking!
• We did not find a guide for the TV in the room.

“His our second stay at this particular Marriott. Both times we could find very little to not give our overall experience an excellent rating. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the lobby has very upscale appeal. It was a big plus for us to find that all Marriott have gone to no smoking!”

• Very nice remodeled site with an excellent pool and exercise area. Good bed too.
• Nothing really did I not like.
