“We were very impressed with the friendly, functional and professional way they handled the large crowd. I understand that there were three different wedding parties staying at this hotel. Really liked the idea that the airport was so close.”

  • Location and convenience.
  • The Bed too soft, they remedied this with a bed board.

“The Hotel is beautiful, however it is hard to use a cell phone in the room, the connection was bad. The bed was too small and too soft. I asked for a room switch and they said all their beds are the same, but they could bring in a bed board. That was somewhat helpful. I also expected a small in room fridge, but there was none.”

  • The staff are so accomodating and the Bell Boys were so efficent and friendly young men. The pool is heated to a perfect temperature. Beds are great.
  • We only got to stay for two nights and I would have stayed for a week if I could have done so.

“We have stayed here before and it is our number one choice of places to stay. The staff are so friendly and make everyone feel so special-right down to the life-guards. It is a lovely place and no one should have a negative comment to voice about this hotel.”

  • I loved the decor and ambiance!
  • The food fell short of the quality that I expected.

“I loved this hotel. The room service was timely, the fitness facility was awesome and the rooms were very spacious and well maintained. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the amenities. I liked that the menu catered to those seeking low fat, low cholesterol, or low carbohydrate. The only thing that I didn't enjoy were two of the entrées I had - the steak was really fatty and chewy and the cornflake encrusted French toast was burned. But the side items that accompanied both were fine.”

  • Very elegant and regal.
  • Small room.

“The Dearborn Inn was very elegant and regal. It was updated, with a flat screen television and luxurious hotel linens, but maintained all of the wonderful historical elements that made it special when it was built. The rooms were a bit small, but that's the way they were built historically.”

  • A little off the "beaten path".

  • Beautiful hotel with an atmosphere.
  • The room we had was somewhat small, too small for two people.

“The hotel is beautiful, it definitely has an atmosphere and it's an experience to stay here! The only thing we didn't like is that the room we got was better suitable for one person than for two, for two it was quite tight. Unfortunately, the hotel was full and the rooms they offered us instead were worse looking than ours.”

  • The rooms were small. And they charge for WiFi.

  • Historic building with clean, quiet and comfortable rooms, nice common areas and nice eateries.
  • Bathrooms in the rooms are small, clean, efficient and nicely appointed but not luxurious. The age of the structure is my guess for the reason.

“The hotel is reflective of the area. It is Henry Ford. I was pleasantly surprised as we pulled up to the front door. The building and grounds are beautiful. I had concerns about the quality and comfort of the rooms because of the building's age but they were unfounded. The room was a bit on the small side but very comfortable, clean and quiet. Perhaps more so than I've experienced in a hotel. The hotel is welcoming and the staff is very attentive and courteous. The hotel hosted four weddings during the three days we were there and I understand why. The grounds are beautiful and conducive to romantic occasions. The meeting rooms and ballroom appear to be very nice. It is very close to the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. I would stay there again.”

  • Historical nature of hotel.
  • Cracker box-sized rooms with too much furniture.

“This hotel is quaint, charming, and annoying. Spotty housekeeping, disinterested front desk personnel, and the small rooms cluttered with way too much and poorly placed furniture, even if it was all new. Flat screen TV is glued to furniture at a 90 degree angle to the bed, instead of mounted on wall at foot end of bed. Impossible for two people to watch TV, or walk through room at same time. A very disappointing stay. Would not recommend over other 4 stars in the area.”

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Cleanliness:[2] • Staff:[4] • Location:[8]

  • Location and plenty of hot water.
  • Too small, very outdated,

“The hotel is outdated. Fresh paint can only cover so much. The doors have been painted so many times that they stick. The room was so small. A single queen bed is the biggest that would fit into the room. The bathroom was extremely small. There was pedestal sink with no counter space. Your leg hit the wall when you were on the toilet. The shower head was at my chin level, and I am only 6' tall. There was hair stuck to the bathroom ceiling around the inoperable exhaust fan. The floor was dirty in the bathroom and it looked like it the re-grouting was never cleaned up. This is clearly not a 4-star hotel. Additionally, we were nearly hit by a reckless snow plow driver in the parking lot (not any fault of the hotel). However, when I spoke with the hotel valet and asked that he speak with the driver or tell a manager, he stated the hotel doesn't have any control over the contracted driver and appeared to be unconvinced by my request. The price at the Dearborn Ritz Carlton is the same and the experience there is far more superior.”

“This place is very nice; if they pay more attention to the room as oppose to the entrance of the Hotel; the sheets on the bed had yellow spots all over them as if someone had urinated on them; the shades were spotty as well as the light fixtures; the noise lever is extra loud; we could hear every thing that was going on in the other room; and if you had kids you definitely don't want them staying there; not with that kinda noise.”

“A very nice hotel overall. Because it was built in 1931 or so, the walls are a bit thin, the rooms are a little small and the hallways can be a bit louder than most, but the overall appeal, history, and charm more than make up for those minor issues. A very nice bar and lounge with a free pool table makes for a relaxing evening in the hotel without having to watch TV all night.”

  • Close to nice restaurants, the Henry Ford museum and access to I 94.
  • An old, dry hotel. Great for business, but not much else.

“This should be considered a boutique hotel. It is small and quaint. If you are looking for a 21st century hotel, this is not for you. If you like turn of the century architecture and feel, this is for you. The rooms are small and the furniture is very period oriented. The bathroom is small and I had to bend down for the shower. However, I was on a business trip, so I didn't mind. The room was quiet and I was in Downtown Detroit in 15 minutes the next day. The hotel was built by Henry Ford in the 1930's. It has that feel and they've done a good job in preserving the old hotel and adding some new feel. If you have kids or looking for a romantic getaway, look somewhere else. If you're looking for something outside Downtown Detroit, I would definitely book a room here. Just know that you're getting an old hotel with lots of charm. .”

“The hotel is very nice for business. The rooms are somewhat formal, so having children at the hotel might be a little difficult. The hotel is beautiful and close to Downtown Dearborn and the Henry Ford museum. I had a meeting in Downtown Detroit and it took me 15 minutes to get there. She was so friendly to the guy in front of me who was on the concierge level, but her attitude changed toward me. The way I look at it, the hotel got money on a room they probably wouldn't have sold. It's a win/win.”

We cannot put them in another room that is not connected. Joe at the desk put us in a nice 1 room suite, but that defeated the purpose of having 2 rooms so my wife and I could have some privacy.”

“Grand four star hotel that is great for business guests. The restaurant and breakfast buffet were superb. The grounds and entry were very intriguing. The rooms with double beds were not totally updated but the marble flooring presented quality to the room. The room did not have a refrigerator or separate living room but was small and freshly cleaned. It was not the lavish large four star hotels that I had expected but was nice. The separate building that we were assigned when we arrived reminded me of a super 6 or 8 hotel. I wanted a lavish hotel room for our anniversary not an upscale business oriented hotel. This hotel is super for business trips.”
