• The quality of the beds were amazing.
• No wireless internet in all rooms.

“I had a fine stay at this hotel, but with one problem. I checked into my room and unpacked, only to find out that I could not connect to the internet using their wireless connection. I called and was told that I needed a cable for the internet connection. A maintenance man came up and said that my floor should be wireless, but was unable to connect. I went to the front desk and explained. They gave me another room and I had to pickup and move. The hotel should get with the times and have wireless in every room!”

• The pool is NICE. only 3-1/2 feet deep but it's really clean. Nice little hot tub also. Clean weight room.

• Great workout room, staff is always friendly.
• $15/day to use the Internet.

“I always stay at the Westin when I travel to Detroit (about 8 weeks a year). I consistently have great service, the food is good, great location and the fitness equipment is in good shape. It has an attached walkway from the parking garage and has easy access to the freeway.”

• The location and consistency of quality.
• The have credit card billing issues. Food.

“Only place I stay when I come to the city. The food needs to be improved. I suggest a weekend breakfast buffet. The front desk attendants need improvement but the valet and bell captains do a great job. They forgot to give us a key to the mini bar, and tried to bill my
credit card
twice.”

• Our room did not contain a small refridgerator.

“We were pleasantly surprised of the quality of this hotel. It also seemed a little vacant, perhaps due to the location. Parking was convenient and general travel through the hotel was a breeze.”

• The bed was very comfortable and the blankets were warm.

“The room was very comfortable with a very low-key Zen decor. The bed was draped with feather comforters that made for a very comfortable night's sleep. Every amenity was available and we had a nice stay.”

• Nice comfortable bed.

• The heavenly bed, dual shower heads and chic decor!

“I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, the accommodations were awesome and who can complain about sleeping in a heavenly bed. It met all of my expectations and more, I just wished I had a chance to use the pool and hot tub.”

• Extra security-needed room key to access hotel elevator.
• Location - hard to find.

“Staff is extremely friendly, helpful and friendly. Heavenly beds were just that! Furniture was comfortable, nice LCD TV, double headed shower. Felt very secure since room key was needed to activate the hotel elevator. No fee to use the indoor parking garage. Looking forward to returning.”

“Other reviewers were right, tricky place to find, not visible until you get in front of it. Turn off Evergreen onto Broadway, turn left at unmarked corner (rock on blvd has arrow to Westin), go past bank bldg, bear to right as if entering freeway, Westin on right. Large room, large flat screen, good heat/cool controls, great shower (double shower heads), bench on tub edge, choice of pillows, great bed, choice of duvets. Great weekend. Upscale commercial business area.”

• Everything, most of all that it is totally non-smoking.
• Nothing.

“When you drive up the valet comes and will take your car or direct you to parking areas. You walk in and the restaurant is in front of you passed the elevators, the check in desk is to the right. There is a lounge area with couches and tables. If you came in and turn left there is another door to the restaurant on your right. A beautiful water feature and a spiral staircase on you left. You also can walk to the many ballrooms that the Westin have available.
The elevator you need your room key to get to any floor, on the third is the fitness center and the pool both areas get good sun light in the mornings, the pool is open to families and children till 10:00p.m and adults only at 10:30p.m you also can order Westin poolside food, there is a menu on one of the walls.
The rooms are spacious, when you walk in you see the closet with an iron and board, and the bathroom directly opposite the closet. A large floor the ceiling mirror will be on the wall in the short hall leading to the main part of the room. There will be a long desk with a lamp, phone, note paper, pen, and on the other end a flat screen T.V. with a keyboard. One chair pushed up to the desk, also a mini bar under the TV. Depending on your room there will be either an arm chair or a pull out couch with a standing lamp near. End tables flaunt the beds and they hold lamps. The beds are inviting white and fluffy, Pillows and comforters the warm you hugging you until you drift off to sleep. I love the Westin and even more because the Westin is non smoking facility.”

• Awesome! Room was more than I expected, and the service was excellent.

“The grounds are perfectly manicured. The front desk staff went above and beyond my expectations fulfilling any request. The bed is truly heavenly. I felt like a princess. Would definitely recommend staying at the Westin if you want 4**** treatment!”

• The room was wonderful, the bed was so nice, we slept like babies.
• It was just a little hard to find, being in a complex with a lot of offices.

“We truly enjoyed our stay at the Westin, I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the Southfield, MI area. The staff was very friendly, the room the state of the arts. The bed was probably one of the best beds besides my own that I have ever slept in. No noise from the other occupants and the hotel was full.”

• The speed of room service.
• The trash cans were running over.

“I have stayed at this hotel before and loved it. for some reason this trip was less than I expected, for a four star hotel, my room was wrong and had to move to another. The garbage cans were full at the entrance to the hotel from the garage, and the next day they were running over with trash on the ground around them. I hope my expectations aren't too high but I was a bit disappointed this trip.”

• The comforter had spots on it so that made me uncomfortable as if they had not been changed.

• Front desk staff was appallingly rude.

“Upon arrival, we requested a quiet room and the front desk staff was cold, rude and aloof. She barely spoke. The room she gave us was above many loud generators. When we called down to request a room on the other side of the hall to be away from the noisy generators, she was rude and hung up on us on the phone. When we went back down (with luggage), she handed us the key to another room without saying a word. That room was identical to the first room. When we returned again, she did not utter so much as a word of apology and was incredibly cold. She did not provide adequate customer service or display a positive attitude whatsoever. It clouded our entire stay at the hotel and made us feel very uneasy and uncomfortable about requesting anything. This hotel, being a Westin, should have standards of behavior and customer service higher than what we experienced.”

• Very convenient location. Beautiful exterior.
• Extremely dirty elevators. Inconvenient parking.

“The hotel is very conveniently located in Southfield just off the freeway entrance and exits. The rooms were spacious. Fitness center and pool conforms to the hotel's star rating. However, because of couple of reasons the hotel as a whole should have a lower star rating. One, the elevators are extremely slow and dirty. Two, the parking is far and therefore inconvenient.”
