“I liked the food at this hotel. Fresh and presented in a unique way. I was a bit upset that our room was not cleaned one day, because we had left after 9:30 am. (They start knocking on doors at 8:00 am. Staff was very accommodating.”

• Nice decor, moderately clean.
• Staff not helpful, room was small.

“I called the Marriott to confirm reservation and requested 2 double beds instead of 1 king. The reprehensive I talked to confirmed the reservation and said the room I reserved came with double beds. After an 11 hour flight I arrived at the hotel at 1 am and found they had given my room away and only had a room with a king bed and they offered a roll away bed. That would have been fine if I were traveling alone but I was with my daughter and her 2 children. The room was so small after they put in the roll way we had to crawl over the beds to get to the bathroom. The bathroom door was damaged it had a couple small holes and one whole the size of a softball. The floor was more comfortable than the roll away. I was very displeased and will never stay at the Detroit Marriott again.”

• It was a great location close to the airport.
• The pool area could have been a little cleaner.

“It was an overall good experience. The pool area could have used some talc and the treadmills in the workout room were not working. The room was very nice with a good view of Detroit Airport.”

“I ask for double beds. When we checked in we had 5 king beds for 10 grown men instead of 5 doubles like I was told. Very unhappy.”

• We paid for two rooms and they could only give us one.

“We booked and paid for two rooms at this hotel, and they over-sold the hotel and could only give us one room. There was four adults and one child in one room with one king size bed.”

• The location is hard to find since it is hidden away after exiting off the interstate.

• The combination of fabrics (upholstery, sheets) used in the room decor. Comfortable chair and bed.
• I found two strands of hair in my dessert. Limited dining and computer facilities. No place to hang towels.

• Conveniently located, free airport shuttle, clean and neat, professional staff.
• Rooms were only slightly short of perfection.

“This hotel is very high on class and professionalism. It is one of the most conveniently located properties to the DTW airport. The shuttle service is prompt and friendly at any time of night or day. Perfect landscaping, marbled interiors and convenient bar and restaurant inside the building. The room was nicely sized, clean and well-maintained. We had no complaints about this property at all after spending three whole days there.”

• The attractiveness of the facility, the attentiveness of the staff, and the location.
• There was not anything that I did not like about this particular hotel.

• The decor & comfort feeling were awesome from the minute we opened the door.
• I did not experience anything negative.

“The registration was simple, parking within a minute of the door, the room was so comfy, my daughters would have been happy to stay there for the trip! We had the hot tub and pool to ourselves and they were spotless. As soon as we arrived at our room we received a call from the desk to make sure we were happy with the room & if we needed anything. Coffee at the check out was great!”

• The bedding is nice.
• The bathroom was small.

“We always like the Marriott. When we went to check in they did not have a reservation by our name. The receptionist suggested we put a credit card in the system, and then it called up our reservations. I was afraid we were going to be left without a room since I had forgotten to bring my confirmation number with me.”

• It was a Marriott. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.
• The location is not the best but it is convenient and in an okay area.

“The outside was a little run down and could use some paint but the inside was great! The location (Romulus) is not the best or safest city in the world, but it is right off the highway and easy to get too if you have directions.”

• Their seemed to be only one set of elevators that was a good distance from my room.

“I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Check in was easy and staff was polite. The room was both attractive and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. Next time I hope to check out the restaurant and other amenities a bit more.”

• Brightly remodeled and clean.
• There was a group doing acrylic Nails in the hotel and it smelled horribly in the whole hotel in the a.m.

“Very attractive, obviously remodeled recently and clean. We loved the softness of the sheets and down comforter. The colors were attractive the bed was very comfortable. The transportation (shuttle) was prompt and convenient. Overall a very great experience for us.”

• The constant effort to keep public areas cleans, during bad weather, and quiet rooms.
• The only negative was the challenging turn onto Flynn from merriment road.

“The room was well appointed, in excellent repair and maintenance. During the inclement wither; an hour keeper was constantly mopping the entry. The restaurant offered excellent selections for breakfast (the only meal I ate at the hotel) and the personnel from check-in to discharge were courteous and helpful.”

• Love the bed! Rooms are very nice and seemed quiet.
• The heating in the room is not easy to control - it would be blowing two hot or two cold.

• I was pleased how they had all printed out directions from the hotel to the car rental return.
• The restaurant leaves much to be desired.

“This was the second time in less than a week I stayed here .When I requested the same room I had earlier , the receptionist said it was taken but then put me in one even better. So many little nice features--free bottles of water (and I wasn't vene in Mexico) great tasting in room coffee and I didn't have to use that horrid powdered milk substitute for my coffee.”
