• The location.
• No parking for guests flying from airport.

“However, its major drawbacks for business travelers are a lack of parking for guests flying from the airport as well as an inadequate business center.”

• The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel was located in the area we wanted to be.
• The hotel is sort of dated. The rug in the bedroom was soaked so we had to change rooms. Not enough lines for two people.

“Overall the hotel was okay but not the standard of other Marriott's that we have stayed in. There were several things that could have made it more pleasant. We were on first floor and had to go to third floor for ice. The paper was delivered some days to the room and some days not.”

• The beds were very comfortable & the bathroom was spacious.
• When we got to our room a man was doing some kind of maintenance on the thermostat.

• It was hard to find on a small road, hidden from view.

• Friendly shuttle driver.
• No conditioner in room, Did not receive wake-up call.

“I would not recommend this hotel as being convenient to the airport. Keep in mind that the shuttle stops at the Courtyard, too, and you may be the last to be dropped at your gate. We did not receive a wakeup call at 4:15 a.m. Our room had no hair conditioner but two bottles of body lotion.”

• The hotel was very clean.
• Asked for extra towels and never received them.

“Very nice and clean hotel. On our stay the whirlpool was broken and nobody could fix it. We asked for extra towels for our room, we never received them.”

• Convenient to airport and very clean and well kept.
• Bath tub not very clean and water slow to run out.

“This hotel was very convenient to airport and car rental agencies. The staff very friendly and helpful. Had no problem getting downtown Detroit. Will stay again but the bathtub water flow was not very good but everything else met or exceeded my expectations.”

• The room was small but lovely. The bed was very comfortable and alarm came at the correct time. The early AM shuttle was right there.
• Nothing.

“I was looking for convenient and it was that. Right across from the Detroit Metro Airport. It was comfortable and easy to get to.”

• Very tiny room and no free internet connection.

“This hotel did not meet my expectations for a 3 star hotel and was far below my expectations for a Marriott. I normally stay in Marriott Courtyard or Marriott Fairfield hotels. Both provide free internet and much larger rooms usually at a lower price. Fairfield even provides a nice breakfast.”

• I love the down comforter. Makes sleeping very nice.
• I received a $2 charge at check out just because the hotel was near the airport.

• Breakfast cook very poor. Fried eggs were virtually raw, he didn't seem to understand or care.

• The beds.
• No microwave in room or refrigerator.

“We got to our room and found that there was no microwave or refrigerator but found the beds very very comforting. When the room flooded in the middle of the night they gave us a different room right away and we were back to sleep soon. They also picked up the tab on our breakfast and erased our internet charge. I was very impressed with the helpfulness and the way that the employees handled our flooded room.”

• Clean rooms, comfortable beds, nice indoor pool for the kids.
• They were sold out of 2 doubles/room, had to settle for 1 king with 3 of us in the room.

“Nice comfortable and clean. Overall a good experience with the exception of the fact they were sold out of 2 doubles and the 3 of us had to sleep in 1 king. I was told that they were also out of cots so that was a little inconvenient. Restaurant had good food.”

• Rooms were well appointed, beds comfortable, low noise level.
• Problems with long term parking.

“The hotel itself, while not easy to find was very clean and well appointed. They had our reservations ready and were able to get us off to our rooms fairly quickly. However, there was no one there to help with your bags, and we were promised by the chain a parking rate for 10 days which did not materialize so that was a big disappointment. The shuttle also does not start running until 5 am, so if you have an early flight and need to be there early in the morning you best make other arrangements.”

• That the fire alarm went off at 1:00am.

• Someone smoked in the hot tub setting off the fire alarm at 2:30 in the morning, not hotels fault though.

“You could not ask for a nicer place to stay; clean and friendly place. The Pub at night has a full menu, and the food was awesome.”

• The bed and bedding were wonderful.
• Assumed charges for daily newspapers unless you tell them no!

“Rooms were beautiful, beds were big, bedding fabulous with lots of pillows. In room coffee, tea & water. Hotel staff very friendly & helpful. Be sure to decline the daily papers if you don't want to pay for them as they will add the cost to your bill.”

“The hotel did a wonderful job of segregating us from a hotel full of little boys who were there for a hockey tournament! We did not even know they were there until we encountered them in the hallway on the way to the pool. The fact that the hotel was considerate of the fact that we were two adults and afforded us that privacy without being asked shows me that they truly care about the quality of our stay! Kudos to Marriott!”

“This is a really nice hotel close to the airport. Room was gorgeous. Huge king bed with loads of pillows, obviously fresh linens. Clean. Lots going on in the hotel there was some sort of event happening when I was there. It was a happy place to be. The decor was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great hotel.”

“We enjoyed our stay. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were no bellmen on duty when we both arrived and left. It would have been nice to see and be helped by staff people who were assigned to this job. Some of the hotel staff who worked in the office had to help us with our luggage. Some were older ladies who should not have been required to do this kind of job. The hotel is very nice and the food was fine, they just need more staff.”

“I liked the food at this hotel. Fresh and presented in a unique way. I was a bit upset that our room was not cleaned one day, because we had left after 9:30 am. (They start knocking on doors at 8:00 am. Staff was very accommodating.”

“I called the Marriott to confirm reservation and requested 2 double beds instead of 1 king. The reprehensive I talked to confirmed the reservation and said the room I reserved came with double beds. After an 11 hour flight I arrived at the hotel at 1 am and found they had given my room away and only had a room with a king bed and they offered a roll away bed. That would have been fine if I were traveling alone but I was with my daughter and her 2 children. The room was so small after they put in the roll way we had to crawl over the beds to get to the bathroom. The bathroom door was damaged it had a couple small holes and one whole the size of a softball. The floor was more comfortable than the roll away. I was very displeased and will never stay at the Detroit Marriott again.”

“We booked and paid for two rooms at this hotel, and they over-sold the hotel and could only give us one room. There was four adults and one child in one room with one king size bed.”

• The location is hard to find since it is hidden away after exiting off the interstate.
