• It was nice, and clean and elegant looking. Room was nice and clean.
• Leaking in the atrium over pool, horribly dirty restroom at pool, pool by front door, and very cold at poolside.

“We had, an overall, great experience - The atrium leaked over the pool area - causing a large dirty puddle on the pool deck, which I slipped and fell in, the pool is right by the front door, so therefore when the doors open, the cold air hits you right by the pool area! The rooms where clean, and the hotel itself was very clean. The bathroom by the pool area was not cleaned at all, and was very sickening. It was dirty the eve before, and in the morning too. When called to front desk, no one answered, and it was never taken care of. We left a pillow in our room, and had a hard time getting someone to help when I called. I had to call back 3 times, and was transferred several times - seems like everyone thought it was not their job - eventually did get the right person who finally helped and retrieved the pillow.”

• Excellent staff always willing to go the extra mile.
• The toilet seemed to run all night or the neighbors toilet, not sure.

“My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza. We came to the Detroit area for the Detroit Free Press/Flagstar Marathon. The freeway was easily accessible to the hotel, the staff was more than efficient, the late check out allowed both of us to relax in the Jacuzzi after an extremely long race!

• Everything was very nice we had clean, safe stay.
• The cable channels kept jumping while watching TV. The restaurant was a little high for people on a budget.

“Coming into a city we did not know we felt un easy about finding a nice area to stay. This hotel met all of our needs. We felt safe, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was kept very clean inside and outside on the grounds. Several times we spotted a police car patrolling the area on and off the property.”

• Quiet and spacious, very close to Lego land.
• Had to pay $10 for each time connecting to internet.

“The hotel was nice and quiet. Easy to get to all sorts of places and close to the airport. The hotel staff was very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Would gladly stay again.”

• Very helpful staff and very comfortable accomodations.

“We were travelling with our young children 3 and 1 1/2. The staff at the hotel (shuttle driver and front desk clerk) were extremely accomodating and made our experience really possitive. Upon check out with our hungry kids they provided us with a few snacks for the road, really above and beyond.”

• Good location. Front desk staff was nice and helpful.
• Our room had no cold air. Very un-comfortable at night and cleaning lady's came too early and woke us up.

• This hotel was light and airy and overall very clean.
• No fan in the bathroom; it would be nice if the sink was in a separate area.

• Lounge was pretty dull, Spartan.

“Great place to just relax while visiting the area the best staff all around not exactly a "romantic" atmosphere, but very peaceful. Close to the airport, but not much else nearby. Food was excellent, rooms were clean and comfortable. I will stay there again, no doubt!”

• The restaurant close too early.

“The hotel was in a very nice area, it was right next to highway and close to airport. The people were very friendly. I would stay at this hotel again if I ever visit Detroit.”

• The lobby area was really nice and spacious.
• No wireless internet throughout. No free continental breakfast.

“I was a little disappointed in the fact that there wasn't wireless internet throughout. After a long day traveling who wants to hang out in the lobby to check email. It would have been nice to check it in the comfort of your room. Additionally, many 2 star places offer continental breakfast and I was expecting that from a 3 star place. So actually I could have gotten more for less had I stayed at a best western.”

• The pool area with room with balconies that overlook that area.
• Parking - ended up parking with Quick Park at a cost of $35.00 as we were flying to our Disney Vacation.

“Enjoyed our stay as it was simply an overnight in order to catch a flight to Disney. Disappointed that the hotel website indicated that parking available for one week with overnight stay.”

• The internet did not work.

“The hotel is close to the airport. The staff is friendly and the rooms are nice. I was happy with this hotel for the star and for the price I paid. The internet did not work which caused a little inconvenience but overall it was a nice stay.”

• Comfortable bed.
• Awful room service.

“Decent enough but far below Hilton, Hyatt, or other hotels in this star level. Room service was a disaster; they microwave my clam chowder leaving the flavor awful and the clams like vulcanized rubber. The over all ambience of the hotel is midlevel at best. Crab cakes tried were well above average. When staff was told of the poor room service all they said was were sorry the chef is in training.”

“The hotel was great! Very pleased with our stay at the Crown Plaza. Rooms were good size & clean. Nice view of the pool from our balcony. Pool & gym areas were very clean and easy to find. Restaurant in the hotel was very good and reasonable without having to go out & find another place to eat. Staff was very helpful. Loved the shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour to the airport.”

• There was a care package on the bed that included ear plugs, sleep mask, and pillow scent. Nice.
• Parking was a bit of a challenge, and only one entrance that I knew of.

“This hotel was great, staff was friendly/very courteous, and room was comfortable, ok location. I have not one valid complaint! I would love to stay at this hotel again in the very near future!”

“This is a great hotel to stay out if you are travel to the Detroit airport. It was clean and only minutes away from the terminal. The staff was helpful in giving directions to downtown and made good recommendations about food and entertainment.”

• Location to the highway system. The style and look of the hotel was very crisp and clean.
• No microwave oven available for heating up food. When you want a snack or have small children this would be a nice feature.

• Beds comfortable.
• Very noisy at night--atrium acts as echo chamber, so rooms 7th floor and below can hear all noises from lobby and bar.

“Room ok, but very poor lobby design. Large atrium slants towards rooms up to the 7th floor. Our room was at the top of the apex, so all the noise from the lobby and bar area was funneled up to our windows. We were able to hear every word spoken by people in the lobby, as well as the TV in the bar, even though it was on the ground floor. It was almost impossible to sleep. I would never stay in this hotel again unless it was in a floor higher than the 7th.”

• Light bulb blew out, Closet door broken.

“Very nice hotel with complimentary newspaper, coffee, wake-up call, ear plugs and eye mask. Very close to airport. Five pillows on each bed made for a nice stay.”

• Room had balcony on interior side of hotel with view of pool and atrium.
• We went to our room at 4 pm and the cleaning lady had just started cleaning the room. We had to wait 15-20 minutes for her to finish.

“The hotel is beautiful, clean, and quiet. The stay was very comfortable. The elevator was a bit slow, and I expected WiFi access for my laptop but had to use the business center instead- internet access in the room is $9.95. Overall, a good visit.”

“The hotel was very clean, staff treated you like you were important. Bartender was a little slow in sports bar. Have slept in more comfortable beds however the beds were not bad by any means. housekeeping staff was very efficient. Would love to stay there again!”

• Great staff. Their room service is a cut above the norm.
• Lobby, atrium, elevators and other pubic area to warm. Their thermostat in the lobby area read 82 degrees!

“This location could use some updating, but wasn't bad. They need to offer wireless Internet service and to do so at No Charge in order to be more competitive with other hotels in the area.”
