“Beautiful room, great bed, wonderful bath facilities. Television controls were awkward, and there was no guide for channels.” May 13, 2009 by
Leslie from Eaton Rapids,MI
“This was the hotel to stay at if you are traveling out of DTW and need a place to stay. I highly recommend it, staff was very pleasant and did not treat us any different than other guests. Rooms were very quiet and well maintained.” May 10, 2009 by
Glen baker from Temecula,CA “This hotel has no real negatives. Two things. It's in Detroit and it has no real outdoor leisure areas.” Mar 8, 2009 by
Gideon from Brooklyn,NY
“This hotel combines location and luxury in a way that it unprecedented. I already loved flying in and out of the McNamarra terminal in Detroit. This makes it a pleasure to have an early flight.” Feb 10, 2009 by
Dennie from Traverse City,MI
“Most convenient for travel out of Metro Airport. Upscale clean, modern and excellent food.” Feb 7, 2009 by
Randy from Tampa,FL
“If you don't want internet, want to walk through the hotel and go up 3 floors to get ice because all the machines are not working this is the place for you. It's noisy, dirty and the staff is not very friendly. I would never stay at this hotel again.” Feb 6, 2009 by
Mike from Grosse Pointe Farms,MI
“Excellent check in, clean rooms. Good no charge WI-FI in lobby and direct security check-in to DTW airport. Good restuarant.” Jan 3, 2009 by
from Defiance,OH
“Very convenient, attractive, easy access to airport.” Nov 30, 2008 by
Mike from Farmington Hills,MI
“The Westin is a premier luxury hotel. It is beautifully appointed with peace and harmony as the central style. For harried business travelers, this is a haven of comfort and the perfect place to recharge. What a treat to catch an early morning flight after a good night's rest with just a few steps to the gate!” Nov 16, 2008 by
ryan from Jefferson,WY
“Parking is $19/night. The walk from the ramp to the room was about 10 minutes. Very difficult with one person in a wheelchair. We had to take 4 separate elevators each time when going between the room and the vehicle. The hotel may be great for a traveler using the airport, but for a family visiting it was sub par. For some reason the large 42" TVs had poor reception. There was no noise from the planes taking off.

“The room was sleek, beautiful, comfortable - with an enormous flat panel tv and a window overlooking the gorgeous atrium (with bamboo shoots and a koi pond). Enter directly from the McNamara terminal and use the hotel's own security entrance to return to the terminal. So convenient!” Nov 4, 2008 by

“Excellent location and amenities for the traveler.” Oct 17, 2008 by

“This is a top hotel. Very convenient to fliers on Northwest Airlines. Very courteous staff; great food at room service. No complaints! Thoroughly recommended!” Aug 25, 2008 by
Kim from Bellaire, MI
“Very luxurious but very pricy and very small pool.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Annemarie from Grand Ledge, MI
“The staff was friendly, very knowledgeable, and attentive. The hotel was beautiful and spotless clean. When they say they have "heavenly beds", they are not kidding. Everything about this hotel exceeded my expectations and we will being staying their again.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Michele from Lexington, KY
“When we were checking out, there was a guy who would not look up for anything to help us. He kept staring at the screen and was waiting for the other guy to help us, who was already helping someone else. We just had a quick question, we had already checked out, walked away and came back. But he refused to look and acknowledge us.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Aas from Seneca, SC
“Pleasant, quiet and convenient to airport.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Sandra from Highlands Ranch, CO
“Dinner was late, and sat under lights at 10 pm, menu selection was not the same as served dinner - substitution of ingredients. Other people served first after we had been waiting extended time period.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Stephanie from Atlanta, GA
“Love this hotel, within the DTW airport. Great for a late arrival or early AM departure. Nice rooms, although furniture is beginning to look at little worn (but still very nice!). Have stayed here 3 - 5 times and will definitely return.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Chris from Arlington, TX
“Right in the airport and easy to get to. Very nice decor and the room was modern but relaxing all at the same time. Nice get screen TV and comfortable bed. Only draw back for us was the very tiny pool.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Jodi from West Bloomfield, MI
“We stayed here one other time and loved it. Our room had the most amazing tub and shower and a private toilet and we were excited to stay again. Our room this time had no tub and no private toilet. Plus, the top sheet on our bed may have been 200 thread count but I think that's high. Overall, a great hotel but not the best stay this time.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Julia H. from Spopkane, WA
“I might fly second class but I always sleep in first class. Your bus boy dropped me and my luggage off in the wrong line and by the time I found out, I almost missed my plane.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 9, 2008 by

“Had dinner one night, food arrived on a hot plate but cold food. So I sent it back, next try a cold plate with lukewarm food (note these meals are not cheap). So the manager gets involved which was nice and did not charge for meal but I was starving at that point. Room extremely quiet and peaceful given location. Touted special check in gate) but not if you are checking luggage, so I had to wheel my 50# suitcase up a steep ramp (there was no one to help me) then outside, to check it. They should have offered to help me. There are no vending machines in the hallway so if you want a drink, get it in the terminal before going to the room. Very Asian themed hotel but no Asian food on the menu. Bar small and very crowded, dining area lacks ambience considering price of food.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 29, 2008 by

“Great ambiance achieved with the bamboo, the water setting in the middle of the hotel! Sadly, for business travelers who value Internet access, it's not complimentary.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Michelle from Roselle, IL
“The Westin at Detroit Metro Airport is still one of the nicer hotels in the immediate area. That said, the property is starting to wear a bit and if some improvements aren't tended to soon the hotel will lose it's appeal. Love the fact that dogs are allowed but perplexed as to why the hotel has not arranged an onsite potty area for it's canine guests. Public spaces lovely. Restaurant is good but overpriced (but you are a captive audience so what to do?). Some nice touches have disappeared such as the previously complimentary bottled water that they now charge $5 for. With the tiny shop only open certain hours and absolutely no vending options it seems the hotel wouldn't take such advantage of their valued guests.” Jan 20, 2008 by
Kurien from Phoenix, AZ
“The hotel has no convenience stores or vending machines and forces guests to buy water at $5 each. Staff not friendly at all.” Nov 27, 2007 by
Connie from Shelby Township, MI
“Excellent hotel with the ultimate in convenience if you are flying from Detroit Metro Airport. Rooms very clean and comfortable with an exceptionally comfortable bed.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Ashlee from Perrysburg, OH
“Overall the hotel was nice and I would stay there again. The only thing nice about the bed was the pillows and the shower was pretty awful.” Nov 1, 2007 by
Susan from Rutland, MA
“The room was small but lovely, amazingly quiet (you could see the airport runway right outside, but only the most distant of muted murmurs when planes took off). The lobby was very nice, the room service was too expensive and I thought the room service menu was very limited: steak with Asian vegetables is still steak; chicken with Asian vegetables is still chicken. The AAA guide said the restaurant had stir fries and noodle dishes and maybe it did, but the room service menu did not. The best part was having our own private security checkpoint right into the airport; that was very pleasant.” Oct 28, 2007 by
Mary from Sagamore Hills, OH
“Wonderful property. Very clean and very convenient.” Oct 4, 2007 by
Joe from Roswell, GA
“Super location for business travel. Great to relax in between going or returning from trips.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Jennifer from Surprise, AZ
“The hotel was very clean but the staff was not helpful at all. You will also pay $30.00 a night for parking and if you want to use the internet add another $12.00. If you are departing from the Detroit airport the security line is very short.” Sep 27, 2007 by
Tony from Pittsburgh, PA
“I liked everything about except having to stay in a handicap accessible room. There is no counter space in the bathroom. Hotel was not sold out. I should not have gotten that type of room. This was only shortcoming, but it was in my opinion a big one. I would not have been happy if I had to stay more than one night.” Sep 20, 2007 by
Vicky from Petoskey, MI
“Outstanding front desk service, terrific restaurant/bar though pricey; beautiful room/bathroom/wonderful beds, linens, comfort! Not your typical "hotel" airport, not at all!” Sep 13, 2007 by
Rick from Madras, OR
“I would love to stay here if I was flying international or on Northwestern flights. Access/baggage check would be very convenient.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Michelle from Roselle, IL
“The Westin is by far the nicest hotel in the area. It is starting to show a little wear and tear but is still lovely. The lobby is gorgeous, the rooms are nicely appointed, and the runway view is awesome (and quiet if you can believe it). My one gripe I love that they allow dogs but there is not any green space within walking distance to potty them. Please, Westin, build a small run for them. Indoor pool & Jacuzzi are nice and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Restaurant is good but a little pricey.” Aug 29, 2007 by
John from Montgomery, AL
“Excellent if you have flights in/out of Detroit.” Aug 28, 2007 by
Mike from Englewood, FL
“Outstanding hotel with great location at the Detroit airport. Typical great Westin service and room with luxurious bed. We enjoyed our stay.” Aug 27, 2007 by
Gerakdube from Little Rock, AR
“Our stay for very comfortable and the service and environment was great.” Aug 21, 2007 by
Laurie from Concord, NC
“The hotel was clean, spacious and attractive. The fact that it was connected to the airport made transportation much easier. The room was comfortable and what I expected and more. The staff was helpful and courteous.” Aug 18, 2007 by
Kathy from Las Vegas, NV
“This hotel was a combination of upscale and penny pinching. The two bath towels were smallish. I expected that I would be able to order room service for an early flight departure but room service doesn't begin until 6 AM even though my flight was scheduled for 6:40 AM. I expected that a four star hotel would have room service 24/7. The food was very expensive and salty at the one restaurant that was in the hotel.” Aug 3, 2007 by
Deborah from San Diego, CA
“Really liked the convenience of the hotel.” Aug 2, 2007 by
Erin from Kalamazoo, MI
“The rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff is very friendly. The staffs are more then willing to help with even the smallest request.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Heidi from Dallas, GA
“We loved our stay at the Westin. Jennifer went out of her way to locate a Kids Pack for my children to enjoy, and really all the staff we encountered was very personable yet professional! Rooms were very clean and beds were extremely comfortable. View from our window was the Northwest terminal so the kids could see the planes coming and going. Kids loved the pool and hot tub. Some might have found the pool to be too small, but my kids had it to themselves so it was just right for them. Meal prices for the kids were very reasonable, but adult prices were high and there was only one restaurant. I would prefer another option for parking, but I guess being attached to the airport limits options. Internet access should be free like it is in most other hotel chains. Overall, very nice hotel and we would stay there again if in the Detroit area.” Jul 14, 2007 by
Rita from Sterling, VA
“The hotel was convenient and very quiet. Good for resting. The dining options were limited. Unfortunately, our room needed a good dusting, which really detracted from our stay.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Elizabeth from Sarasota, FL
“Lovely and convenient best describes the Westin at Metro Airport. The restaurant was very good; service in the bar was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and appealing. True to Westin's reputation, this is a great place to stay for business travelers, or those going to a romantic getaway.” Jul 11, 2007 by
Lori from Zeeland, MI
“This hotel was great for our needs, had a pool for the kids and parents to relax in after a few HOT days in Detroit at the Air Show. Fun to be able to go into airport Terminal for supper and watch the planes come and go, we had a great view of the tarmac from our room window which was a bonus for the kids and the dad! ;-)” Jul 10, 2007 by
John from Kirkland, WA
“A four star hotel, but the rooms are a bit small compared to other four stars. Not a problem though. Nicely appointed, but a bit industrially appointed in certain aspects, such as metal doors for the closet an bathroom. Not as nice as wood.” Jul 5, 2007 by
Merry from Kentwood, MI
“Excellent hotel!! Very cool. Was kind of surprised at the dirty window that we looked out of, dirty from the inside as far as finger prints & noses against the window--should have been cleaned by the maids. Otherwise, a very nice place to stay.” Jul 5, 2007 by
Eric from Decatur, GA
“For a weekend trip (in late Friday night, out early Sunday), this location is perfect. Food is severely overpriced, but overall experience was great.”
