• I only stayed for one night (all I could stand).
• My room smelled like poop!! And they wouldn't give me another room. And did nothing about the smell.

“Never again will I stay at this hole in the wall hotel. The only reason I stayed there is because I wanted to stay on the main strip. I was very unhappy when I got to the room because when I opened the door a strong smell! Just about knocked me off my feet. I went down to the lobby to tell them about the room but they wouldn't give me another room. I asked them if they had a scented candle to cover the smell of poop in the room. They said no instead they gave me a bottle of toilet cleaner and said (spray this on the carpet it might help) so I went back to my room had sleep in my smelly room. I got little sleep and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Checkout was at 11:00am I left at 6:00am. I left and took my shower at a truck stop. This hotel had little class. Never again.”

• They were always prompt on helping you know matter what it was.
• There was nothing that we didn't care for.

“Very quiet & family oriented. Close to everything. This is our quick get away place. There is always at least 4 of us spouse / child / myself / & our dog. This last couple of times we have came down its been 7 or 8 of us great place to stay & enjoy your time there.”

• It was close to where I wanted to be.
• I requested a non smoking room but had a smoking room when I got there.

• It had a pool for the kids.
• Room attendant did not leave toilet paper and towels. Did not do anything because they said something was left on the bed while we were out.

“The hotel was okay. We just needed a place to sleep and it served that purpose. However, the room attendant left a note and said they could not make the beds because personal items were left on it. The only thing that was on the bed was a travel pamphlet. They did not do any cleaning and did not leave toilet paper, etc. other than that it was fine. Staff in the lobby were friendly and the restaurant was good. A little pricey if you got entrees but you did get your moneys worth. The food was good though and the staff was friendly.”

• Everyone was very nice, the room was adequate, the pool was really nice.
• Instead of stairs to the upper floors, there is a steep ramp. That was hard after a long day of walking. It's also bad for people with knee problems.

• Pancake Restaurant was in a connected building.
• Hotel was closer to Gatlinburg.

“Hotel was clean, neat, housekeeping services were good. Always plenty of towels. Only w/c ramps to go up 3 flights to my room & steep ramps at that I was also disappointed. I never found a hot tub, only 1 ice, &/or vending machine on ground floor. I also thought it would be more in the heart of Pigeon Forge instead of before entering Gatlinburg.”

• Close to everything without being in the main stream of a ton of people and cars.
• The rooms were in the back of the motel, not the front.

“We have stayed at the Roadway Inn twice before in rooms at the front of the motel on the second floor. The rooms were a little bigger and the scenery better.”

• Parking lot was a poorly laid out.

“Our trip was centered around Dolly wood, so this hotel was very convenient. Room was clean and hotel was very quiet. The pancake breakfast was actually very good, heck my kid even ate well. The staff was very accommodating and friendly, check-in took all of 5 minutes.”

• Friendly people who work there and they make you feel at home.
• Location of ice machine Should be on second floor to accommodate everyone. Third floor people have a long way to go for ice.

“Really liked the hospitality we received from the front desk crew. Very helpful and very friendly. But, I really think you should seriously think about relocating your ice machine and maybe soft drink machines to the second floor to be fair to all guests because the third floor guests have a long trip just to get ice and a pop. Maybe just getting another ice machine for the second floor anyway, just a thought for the future.”

• The staff was very friendly and the location was close to the Smokey Mountain Parks.
• Basic item not readily available in rooms, such as iron and ironing board. The powdered creamer that is supplied with the coffee is below standard.

“Overall a very good hotel. Excellent staff. Location is in between Pigeon Forge and Smokey Mountains. A good atmosphere for families. Though lacks readily available amenities in room, specifically iron and ironing board, if you plan to pack dress shirts or trousers.”

“The room was awful. There was no iron in the room. The beds were the worst I have ever slept on, be careful, you might fall from the bed. Room was triangle in shape. Sink was in the room, felt like sleeping in the bathroom. Very basic motel room, don't pay more than 30-40 bucks for it. Worst interiors in the room. No windows. I will never visit it again.”

• We loved the free pancakes. Breakfast was awesome and easy on the wallet.
• No wireless internet.

“The free pancakes deal is awesome. All 5 of us together got stuffed on less than $10 total every morning. Any place else would have cost us $40 or more. Less than a mile from Dollywood.”

• The pillows were terrible.

“If going to dolly wood, this hotel is extremely convenient. Vouchers for a pancake breakfast including beverage at the hotel restaurant are included for each member of the party. Room basic, but clean and included refrigerator, microwave and safe. The only bad feature was the pillows which were flat and dead.”

“This hotel is as the price. Nothing can expect more. If you want to stay a night without any interest in hotel it is okay. Heater is very loud and too much traffics all night. Only good thing is easy to access location and closer mountain.”

• The hotel was easy to get into and out of on a very busy roadway.
• We really didn't care for the free breakfast that was allowed with the room. The food wasn't very good. Maybe we just got a bad day.

“All in all we were very pleased with this hotel, and I would stay there again. It was nothing fancy, but it more than served the purpose and was very clean, neat, and up to date, and the water for showers was nice and hot, and air conditioning worked fine. We were pleased with most everything.”

• The rooms were tiny and dingy.

“The rooms were way to small. The "deluxe" breakfast was misleading. Plus it was at the very edge of Pigeon Forge, not convenient for walking to local attractions.”

• They provided a hot limited breakfast and did a nice decorative touch with the towels and soap.
• Much of the parking was on a extreme slope pitched over a little cliff and the lighting in the room was dim.

“The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean and remodeled. The lighting in the room was dim and made it difficult to read at night. The pool was nice and the pancake breakfast, included, was a nice touch.”

• The location is very good, and the Free hot breakfast is very good!
• When I checked in the AC was OFF, the refrigerator was unplugged, and cable disconnected.

• The room was very clean, although the hotel is old. Small fridge in room, coffee.
• Rooms are small, just a little wiggle room around the bed.

“Since when I make my yearly business trip to Gatlinburg, I must stay 5-6 days, I need to stay somewhere affordable. This place fit my most basic needs. Inexpensive and clean. It is very close to many attractions and right in between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge/Sevierville. They do allow dogs at this hotel”

“Cheap hotel and smoking room - not very happy. Breakfast was free but tasteless. Pancakes were rubbery and meat had no taste but it was free. The rooms were clean but the stinch of smoke was there. Old hotel trying to have a new look - I'll give them that but it was still definitely not the Marriott!”

• The staff was helpful and friendly. We had free breakfast (pancakes coffee/juice) for the entire family each morning.
• It was a wee bit cramped... but for the price, what could you expect?

“I wish I had been able to request a ground level room as we had to climb 2 sets of stairs with our luggage. There also was no microwave, but there was a small fridge and coffee pot. The Pancake House (adjacent to the hotel) served free breakfast to the entire family of registered guests. The money we saved on breakfast paid for the lodging.”

“The hotel and it's staff were excellent, but after we got down to Pigeon Forge, TN...we noticed that there were a lot of other hotels with vacancies and cheaper prices than what we got. Knowing that it was a holiday weekend, we thought we were lucky to get what we did on such short notice until we got down there and saw that there was plenty of openings at hotels/Inns...etc”
