• Loved the complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby each morning.
• Hotel entrance a little difficult to find.

“This hotel is equipped with everything you need: in-room microwave, fridge, & coffeepot, spacious rooms, courteous and helpful staff, coffee in the lobby in the mornings, daily newspaper, business office, restaurant on-site, vending machines, laundry room, game room, pool with waterfall, exercise room, along with a very welcoming lobby and atmosphere. We stayed for a week and thought the location of the hotel was just perfect. It is very close to all the attractions, but still somewhat out of the hustle and bustle. It sets back a little bit from the road, so you might miss the entrance the first time. My family had a great trip and would definitely stay here again!”

• The furniture and furnishings in the room were brand new.
• While the furnishings were new, the shower curtain was not and smelled sour.

“The hotel was under construction, which was almost complete during our stay. The staff was friendly and the room was great. Everything was new in the room with the exception of the bathroom shower curtain which is easily fixed. Very nice hotel, located centrally and easy to find.”

• Good locations, friendly staff, clean rooms.
• Construction work still going on. Lobby area, registration area look terrible. Had serious doubts and anxiety when checking in, but our stay was great.

• Pet friendly and great staff.

“The staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. The indoor pool is very nice. Rooms are clean. This hotel is very kid-friendly, pet-friendly. We had no issues whatsoever. There is still construction going on in the lobby and some hallways but it is not an inconvenience. Restaurant staff was very courteous. We had a great stay.”

• Just happy the pool was open still.
• It was a complete mess and everything was closed off.

“I was happy to have a place to lay my head
at
night but with it being under construction it was just horrible. Men working outside your window. Lots of noises and half the time your key wouldn't even work to get you in your room. So having to keep going up and down to the front desk was no fun.”

“This hotel should have been remodeled years ago! Very dated to the 70's. I wish if a hotel was undergoing renovation you would not use them as part of the offering. Dirty, dusty, felt like bugs in the room and very creepy.”

• Great location - beautiful pool with waterfall - rooms currently being upgraded & updated.
• Entrance during construction a little tricky, but well marked.

“Hotel is currently undergoing extensive updates and expansion. All facilities are open, and room have been completed - beautiful renovation! Staff goes to great lengths to make guests welcome during construction. Great job!”

• Was close to the attraction we attended during the day.
• Was not kid friendly. To much construction was going on.

“The hotel was under major construction. It was rather dangerous in some areas of the hotel for the smaller kids. Was not worth the price. Disappointed.”

“I didn't realize that the hotel was adding and renovating rooms until we arrived. It wasn't too bad but the dust wreaked havoc on my wife's sinuses. The staff was friendly enough and made a reasonable attempt to make us comfortable. They gave us a choice of a King size bed or 2 doubles. It didn't dawn on me that the doubles were smaller than 2 queens until I got to the room (most places actually give you 2 queen size) so that was kind of awkward but the beds were comfortable. The indoor pool was nice and the breakfast would rival a Shoney's breakfast buffet, but I think that was only because the dining room was closed for remodeling. Not my best experience but not my worst either. Once the remodeling is done, it will probably be a nice place to stay. Better than a lot of other Holiday Inns.”

• The Staff was very friendly and helpful.
• We were located on the 5th floor, no ice machine, hard to find room, quality of room as way below what I expected.

“It will probably be a nice hotel when the construction is finished but I would not recommend it to anyone. I was really disappointed with the quality of the room.”

• The hotel was under construction due to remodeling. Will be nice once complete, but at the time it was really torn up.
• A worker in the restaurant chastised another worker in front of customers.

“The hotel was in the middle of serious remodeling. It will be nice once complete, but I felt it was really in bad shape to try to accommodate customers. I don't see how it wasn't a safety hazard. The food in the restaurant was good, but it was in a temporary location and ice was not available and a credit card machine was not set-up at the time (unfortunately we didn't know until it was time to pay). The hotel is in a good location, close enough to areas to walk to. It will be nice once construction is complete.”

• Convenient location to all attractions.
• At the time of our stay the motel was under renovation construction which caused some discomfort.

“Our stay was a pleasant stay despite construction work being preformed at the site. They staff was helpful and knowledgeable of all the local area attractions. We defiantly would consider staying at this same hotel again on future visits.”

• The motel was being remodeled and was a mess.

“The motel was being renovated at the time of our visit. We didn't know this before. The lobby and outside were a mess due to the renovation. Workers sat outside eating and you had to walk through the mess. The room was clean and nice.”

“We were given electronic keys to a room already occupied. As a result we were delayed in getting into our room after arriving exhausted from the trip. The breakfast buffet was good but over-priced.”

• The front desk staff was really nice.
• Air conditioning unit did not seem to work properly in our room.

“The hotel was undergoing some construction at the time of my stay; therefore, everything was hectic. The lobby was makeshift and the normal routes to the rooms were redone. This left for parking to be a bit strange. The staff overall did their very best to make things positive and were nice.”

• The pool looked refreshing.
• Construction, initial front desk clerk not very pleasant.

“I did not think that this was the best hotel for the price and the time of the season. We traveled in March. This time the hotel was under construction and we did not know this upon arrival, the initial front desk clerk was short and snippy, the outside of the building was a bit worn down and the maid entered our room after we left to go out for some sight-seeing after we clearly told her that we just needed towels. The room was clean and the pool looked inviting.”

“This is a traditional 1970's Holiday Inn. Probably rated 2.5 stars because of restaurant, pool, etc. Not a bad place to stay but not a new motel with new decor. I was satisfied for the money spent. Everything adequate. No major complaints.”

• Unfriendly, unhelpful staff at reception desk.

“The hotel staff at reception desk were unfriendly and unhelpful, very long lines for check in and denied early check in. My room was very noisy due to rail road tracks right in front of my room, but I was unable to change rooms due to hotel being full. The air-conditioning was not working properly until I called and complained about it.”

• This hotel needs updating and cleaning. The pool was mold ridden.

“The large room was a plus. The bed was hard and therefore we didn't sleep well. This Holiday Inn had many guests that received complimentary rooms from timeshare companies, so there were a lot of undesirable characters around the property. We definitely would not stay at this particular Holiday Inn again, nor recommend it to anybody.”

“I had expected that holiday inn would be a good hotel to stay at. I was wrong. Our room (530) was complete with water stains on the ceiling and on a lamp in the room. One of the two beds had metal sticking out that we had to cover up with a towel so we wouldn't get hurt. There was a wallpaper patch on the wall that was starting to come off. When we checked in we were told that you had to swipe your card to get to the fifth floor. This was true but it was only the fifth floor that you needed to swipe for. I think it may have to do with the fact that the fifth floor is seems to be overlooked when it comes to cleanliness. This was the most disappointing hotel stay I have ever had. A super8 would of been better then the holiday inn!”

• I didn't like the beds. They were only full size beds.

• Right in the middle of everything but sits back from the main drag (quiet).
• Pool was heated, but a little too warm, wasn't refreshing after a long day.

“Went with my wife and 10 years old (mid July). Hotel is only seconds/minutes away from everything (Go carts, mini golf, arcade, shops, food, Black Bear Jamboree, Comedy Barn (#1 in our book), Magic show). Gatlinburg/Smokies was an easy drive 10 minutes tops and that is during July. We were worried about noise, but the hotel sits back from the main drag and we didn't hear anything. Breakfast in Hotel is very good, although a short walk can get you to McDonald's, Burger King and a long walk will get you to Crispy Creme. Only downfalls were that the indoor pool was nice, but a little too warm for me, not refreshing at all. Also, the shower drained very slowly, so you're standing in 1-2 inches of water by the end of the shower.”

• Pool was a hit with my kids.
• The bathroom floor was a little dirty.

“The restaurant food was terrible. The coffee was bitter. The bread was stale and the sausage meat tasted bad. I asked for some toothpaste and the front desk told me they would send someone, but they never showed up. I ended up going down myself, and they were apologetic, which made it okay. I noticed the bathroom floor had hairs and did not look completely clean. The pool has a waterfall and that was a big hit with the children. The location is good, very close to Hollywood and other attractions. It had a business center with free use of the computers. This was good. Also, I liked getting the paper every morning.”
