• Nice views.
• The hotel isn't really in Ann Arbor.

“We were just passing through town on the way north, so we really weren't the target guests for this hotel. The hotel seems like it has received a largely, but not completely, successful makeover in the recent past. Other than that the cleanliness, comfort, and professionalism were pretty much what I expect at a business-oriented Marriott.”

• Very nice rooms, hotel was clean, easy access to Ann Arbor and great beds.

“I was very impressed with this hotel. It was a bit hectic with lots of kids event groups in town. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were nice. The beds were just awesome and so comfortable. Looked like lots of good dining options.”

• Staff was nice.
• The doors were so loud. I am a heavy sleeper but I woke up to what sounded like slamming doors all night long.

“The doors were metal and had a metal frame with nothing to cushion the sound of them closing so anytime someone left the room the doors sounded like they were slamming. This went on until late into the night.”

• It was well decorated and the pool and jacuzzi were nice.
• The room was not cleaned, bed not made, went to my room.

“The hotel was very well decorated and it was a good atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The one problem we had, when checking in was that the room they assigned us was not ready. The bed was not made, and the housekeeper was still in the room when we arrived.
Other than this experience, however, the stay was comfortable and relaxing.”

• I'm always happy with Marriott and this was no exception! Comfy beds and clean rooms.
• Our room was missing a coffee maker.

“I'm always impressed with Marriott and their standards and we really enjoyed the confins of our room. The only weird thing was that the room didn't have a coffee maker in it and when I asked the staff to bring one up, they brought the maker, but no pot and no coffee. We stayed in a handicap accessible room and it was just fine, no big differences. Parking is plentiful and the hotel was easy to get to and lots of stores near by (grocery, coffee, pharmacy, etc).”

• Late check-in. Waited an hour to get into the room.

“Room was not available for check in at 3pm. I had to ask twice within an hour 'if my room was ready'. Finally we walked into our room at 4pm. There's no fridge or microwave, no complimentary lobby coffee (besides the make-it-yourself in the room), cold pool, cleaning ladies tried getting in our twice starting at 9am.”

• The room was spacious; the air-conditioning worked and it filled my needs finally.
• The bathroom stunk. The room was missing a remote control and was generally a little grimy.

“I didn't take full advantage of the hotel because my activities were in Ann Arbor and not hotel-based. Bottom-line: it was fine for my needs on this trip, but the bathroom and general cleanliness were a little surprising in a three-star hotel doing weddings, etc.”

• Fire drill in the middle of the night (12:30 am).

“Except for the fire drill, the overall stay was good. The receptionist was little unfriendly. The fire alarm went off when we were sleeping around 12:30 am. When we went down to the lobby, found out that the alarm went off because of the construction they were doing which created a lot of dust which caused the fire alarm to go off. The alarm siren kept on going for at least 15 more minutes. We ended up not being able to go back to sleep that night. The hotel never apologized to us.”

• The bed was so comfortable, the room was nice and cool, the lobby was beautiful and the breakfast buffet was fabulous.

• The hotel ambience was superb!
• The restaurant was too pricey for the quality of food provided.

“The hotel itself was beautiful. When we arrived, we were extremely tired after a very long drive and unfortunately the check-in process was extremely slow. Once we got to the rooms, we were pleased - nice and spacious. I just wish they provided complimentary water and coffee in the rooms - you would expect that at a hotel like this. In all, it was very nice.”

• I felt very safe.
• The only breakfast you can have at the restaurant is $14.00.

“The hotel is set on a golf course. It was a little difficult to find at first. When we stayed there in June the pool was delicious. This time the air in the pool room was heavily chlorinated. The water was freezing.”

• The pool, sauna and hot tub were very nice.
• The steam bath was not available. the ventilation system was very loud when sitting outside of the hotel, towards the golf course.

“I was traveling with my partner, we needed a place to stay for a night while preparations were made for our new place. The hotel was very clean and tidy, the lobby we would have rated as 9/10, the pool would be more like 4/10. The rooms look like they have been updated but the rest of the place is a bit old-fashioned, including the electronics. If I would recommend to someone else, I would say get a room with a view towards the golf course! For a 3 star hotel it was a great experience. The staff was also very helpful.”

• Food was terrible. Lower cost ingredients make quality low.

“Nice location, nice golf course, nice lake, clean rooms, nice lobby and meeting areas. Hotel food was not high quality. $26 for a just plain low quality steak made it essential to dine out. Breakfast food was not bad. Orange juice one day was just about enough to make me sick during my business commute. I would not advise people to eat at the hotel.”

“Hotel couldn't check us in until 4:00pm. Wouldn't let us use the phone to contact the person meeting us (I had to drive to a pay phone). Checked a family of 4 into a 1 king size bed bedroom. Eventually changed us to 2 double beds, in a room without all the upgrades. Cleaning staff was yelling back and forth down the halls very loudly. On our last morning (sleeping in, because we would be driving home late at night) the cleaning staff was knocking on our door at 9:30 in the morning (even though check out wasnt until noon). We won't go back to that hotel again!”

• Room was very noisy, awaken by doors closing and neighbors laughing. Also air conditioner whistled every time it turned on during the night.

“It's a great spot and the room was incredibly comfortable. The grounds are gorgeous and I would have played golf but didn't have time. Please let the Marriott know that the elliptical equipment in the Fitness Center needs serious work, 2 of the 3 machines are unusable.”

• The restaurant menu was expensive. A luxury hotel shouldn't charge for internet service in the room.

“This Marriott luxury hotel was great in every way except two. Hotels of lesser star ratings do not charge for internet access in the rooms and 4 star hotels do. They shouldn't. The hotel restaurant seemed more expensive than other hotels we've stayed at.”

• Some of the staff tried to fix ongoing problems.
• Housekeeping was bad, no towels, sour milk in dining room.

“Everyday we had problems with maid service, no towels, no clean glasses, no bathmats, did not clean coffee pot, carpet had major stains. Got free breakfast buffet one day because of our problems, then had sour milk and a pathetic buffet. Had to call front desk three times to even get towels finally getting manager. Young man came to our door finally and made sure we had everything. Oh forgot, had to beg for toilet paper twice.”

• Noisy. Flimsy walls, could hear entire conversations. Extremely loud music until 11pm from wedding below.

“Don't stay here if you like to sleep and need quiet. This hotel is all about big groups. Large tacky wedding display in front lobbies. I heard other people complaining about lack of soundproofing. Manager offered me free food and wine to make up for the ridiculously loud music & bass blaring into my room.”

“I rarely stay at a Marriott Hotel because from past experiences I know the hotel management is not very accommodating compared to the Star wood hotels. Our room was on the concierge level with no added value except extremely disruptive guests. The front desk was called twice on each nights stay and nothing was done.”

• The hotel was clean, quiet, convenient, friendly staff, great bed and lines.
• The room had a beautiful view of the golf course, but the windows were so dirty.

“Excellent experience, clean, friendly, quiet! We forgot a toiletry and the front staff gladly helped us out. The bed was comfortable, the linens on the bed were great and the pillows were excellent. We had no problem with noise, it was truly relaxing and quiet. Easy check in, friendly staff that even gave us directions. Thank You!”

• Excellent, staff was very friendly and help full for extra time in staying for one hour over regular checkout.
• Sign to exit off x-way was a bit confusing in the hotel.
