“Remodel is almost complete. Do not consider this hotel a downtown location as I requested.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Sep 13, 2005 by
Noreen from Pittsburgh, PA
“The other people I was with stayed at the hotel on previous occasions and said the rooms were remodeled. I loved the room and the beds were great especially with all the pillows. Even the halls were decorated nicely, except the rug from the elevators to the lobby. I found the pattern a little dizzying, and no I wasn't drinking!! It was a good stay and I would definateley stay there again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 11, 2005 by

“Rooms were recently updated, but we were extremly dissapointed that the pool was closed. We have 2 young children, and had spent the day at the Toledo Zoo. We intended on swimming both that evening and the next morning. Because we were locked into that hotel, we had no options; Huge let down!!” Jun 7, 2005 by
John from Indianapolis, IN
“Staff friendly, rooms very nice, public areas of hotel under constuction so no "real" restaurant / bar available. It was dusty and busy with construction workers.” Jun 7, 2005 by
Michelle from Ann Arbor, MI
“Good hotel, was under construction, but that did not interfere with our stay. Did have breakfest included, but staff did not inform us. Staff that checked me in was not all that friendly, but other staff members were friendly. Pool area was wonderful, and the rooms were very nice.Oh, the beds and pillows were divine, very very nice. Would visit again. Places to eat, Kroger and Walmart within a mile of the hotel, easy to get to.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Jun 7, 2005 by

“The lobby is not renovated yet, however the rooms for the most part are. The rooms were roomy and had a clean feel about them. The beds and the pillows were comfortable. The lady who check me in seemed at first appeared harried and unfriendly, but quickly warmed up after I told her how pleased I was with my first visit to the hotel. I would be pleased to recommend this hotel to anyone.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 4, 2005 by

“We were very pleased with the room. It was just remodeled so it was very nice! The hotel was going thru renovations so there was a lot of construction. One thing we did not like, is that is said it was downtown but wasn't -it took about 15 minutes to get there. Otherwise very nice!” May 26, 2005 by
Andrea from Cincinnati, OH
“I can't wait to stay at this hotel again. I've never stayed somewhere this elegant. When I walked into the room my jaw just dropped. I can't stop talking about how wonderful my stay was.” May 25, 2005 by
Brian from Charlotte, MI
“We were excited to get a Hilton Hotel, but the staff was not very helpful when we had questions and the beds were very small. We did like the location to the zoo and the pool was warm enough to swim in.” May 25, 2005 by
Joseph from Lima, OH
“We wanted a quiet overnight and got just that. The hotel was very nice and quiet with a soft comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. The pool was a good temperature for enjoying (which is often not the case) and the room that the pool is located in is very pleasant as well. We really enjoyed our stay.” May 18, 2005 by
Patrick from Lynchburg, VA
“ The hotel was under renovation and we got stuck in an unrenovated smoking room that was sub-par and rather disgusting--certainly not what you would expect from a Hilton. The hotel manager was very nice and switched our room the next day, but the first night was not a good hotel experience.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 15, 2005 by
Henry from Detroit, MI
“The request was for a four star hotel room with queen/king size bed. The room was quite small and the bed was a Murphy bed with regular mattress and box spring was four inches off the floor!!!Although the room was booked a month in advanced, the hotel did not reserve a standard room!! The head bellman overextended himself to service us; however, the other front desk personnel showed lack of concern. The head bellman did arrange for us to meet with the hotel manager, who verbally offered a one night stay should we return to the Toledo Hilton Hotel.” May 6, 2005 by
Kelly from Toledo, OH
“Our stay at the Hilton was very pleasant and accomodating, especially for the price I paid.” May 4, 2005 by
Sandi from Doylestown, PA
“I thought with the name "Hilton" it would have a more polished, elegant look about it. I didn't feel that walking into the lobby or down the hallways....again, a portion of the lobby was under construction as was the restaurant and there wasn't a gift shop to purchase incidentals. The room itself was alright but could have been better. It was dusty and the cabinet where they placed the coffee maker didn't have an outlet near it so you had to make the coffee in the bathroom or find a plug somewhere else in the room. While we got the room for a great price thinking it was a three-star hotel - it was an average price for the kind of hotel it turned out to be.” Apr 27, 2005 by
Michael from Norwalk, OH
“I do recommend this motel I enjoyed my stay the staff was excellent and the fast checkout is a real convenience.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 25, 2005 by

“The hotel in general was very good. I think it is a stretch of the imagination to have it listed as Downtown Toledo" which is was online. It is at least 5 miles from downtown."” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 19, 2005 by
Jonathan from Fairfax, VA
“Staff was very rude during my visit. Hotel is also undergoing renovations. Location was decent but too far from downtown Toledo if that is where you need to be.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 14, 2005 by

“This 20 year old property has been bought by a newcompany who completely remolded. The linens are now plush; the furniture is stylish with subdued, stylish colors. However, the bathroom is mini-sized;the outlets are inadequate; and our standardroom was small. Also, we had to call the desk because of sound from adjacent room.(not partying, just poor insulation) I thought that the property was a converted hospital because ofthe size of the rooms , and because of the proximity to Medical College of Ohio. Managementdenied this, stating that it was always a hotel with small rooms.Because the cleaning staff did not follow through on our request to clean room after 3Pm, the night janitor thoroughly scrubbed up. He even smiled.Nice gentleman. Again, the next day, the roombarely touched. We gave up.” Apr 13, 2005 by

“Every room is being remodeled. The new design is very nice.” Apr 12, 2005 by
Jay from Bremen, OH
“We have just returned from one of the most comfortable overnight stays at the Hilton in Toledo. But, with the price I paid (Equivalent to a night at the Red Roof Inn) I thought it can't be that bad. The hotel is located just a short drive from the airport and downtown Toledo on the beautifully landscaped 450-acre Medical College of Ohio Campus. It was easy to fine, well marked, and just a few miles from the Interstate. The hotel was just to 1 mile from restaurants like Ruby Tuesdays, Bob Evans, Applebee's, Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, Tim Horton's, and Rally's. Also, there were plenty of shopping centers near-by including Wal-Mart, Kroger's, Sears, and more. The parking lot had rows of shipping containers, which had new furnishing for the ongoing renovations, but did not obstruct the many good parking places. Check-in was fast and we were in our room in no time. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors were all newly renovated, the 1st and 6th floors were not. Our room located on the 3rd floor was spacious, clean, and well decorated. You could tell the room was just recently and completely re-decorated as well as see the classic Hilton style coming out. The room was done in naturals including beiges, silver, copper, and bronze tones. The beds were very plush (this was my wife's favorite part), besides being new they included 4 down pillows, a down pillow top mattress, and a down comforter; it was like sleeping on air. The room also had several modern styled floor and table lamps, high speed Internet access, an oversized work desk, full length mirror, 2 two line phones w/voice mail, digital thermostat control, a coffee maker, 22 channel television, pay per view, Nintendo 64, a radio/alarm clock, iron and ironing board. The bathroom was done all in marble and was very clean with no mildew in the shower. ” Apr 7, 2005 by

“Review of this hotel, was all in all a good experience. I loved the new bed's, carpeting, cleanleness and staff ... nothing bad to report here” Mar 30, 2005 by

“It is a place I would stay in Toledo, Ohio.” Mar 21, 2005 by

“Excellent rooms (new beds were awesome). Locations is away from downtown, but easily accessible to everything by car. Fitness center is located in the college - available by long tunnel walk. Due to renovation ongoing was not able to experience other amenities. I would recommend.” Mar 17, 2005 by
Deborah from Jonesboro, GA
“Even thought the hotel was going through a major renovation. The staff was courteous, and helpful. Very nice facility. Will stay there again on my next trip.” Mar 16, 2005 by
Mike from Perrysburg, OH
“I wanted a Downtown Toledo hotel. This hotel was a $20 taxi ride from downtown so the money saved was lost.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 2, 2005 by

“The hotel was NOT a 3 1/2 star as advertised. Unclean, torn up wallpaper near the elevator... what a joke.” Jan 26, 2005 by
Doris from Toledo, OH
“Overall friendly staff very professional and the hotel had very clean rooms.” Jan 19, 2005 by
Fred from Pgh, PA
“4 miles from city, great pool good price bad food and front desk people” Jan 12, 2005 by
Sue from Cincinnati, OH
“This was an excellent choice for my stay. The location was convenient to my class in downtown Toledo as well as restaurants and shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Construction caused relocation of restaurant facilities, but did not really affect my stay (no bothersome noise, dust, etc.)” Jan 12, 2005 by
Keith from Hoagland, IN
“Staff very friendly and hotel was clean. They are in the middle of remodeling so the accommodations will probably be even nicer when that project is completed.” Jan 3, 2005 by
Rollin R. from Lakewood “Nice hotel on the grounds of a hospital and medical college. Freeways and turnpike just a couple of miles away. Health club and nice pool just off the lobby. Clean, tall showers, nicely decorated common areas. Parts of the building are being refurbished. Large variety of restaurants nearby and hotel has restaurant as well. University of Toledo about 15 minutes away. Plenty of parking. Tennis courts on grounds.” Dec 7, 2004 by
Mary R. from Kent “The only drawback was that the hotel was under major renovations making some of the facilities unavailable. The concierge service was terrific. The room was clean and comfortable. I would return there when the renovations are done. My daughter loved the Christmas decorations! They were outstandng!” Nov 10, 2004 by
“The Hilton in Toledo was a bit disappointing. The amenities were average and the room was very old and outdated. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work and there were lots of bugs in our room. The service, however was satisfactory.” Sep 29, 2004 by
Kimberly W. from Springfield, OH “The hotel was in a great location. To look at the room it was beautiful, but it smelled of a combination of urine and body odor. We were visiting our son at the University of Toledo. We ended up getting back to the hotel early and the smell had not aired out during the day so we packed up and left. We did not sleep there, we drove home. I don't think we have ever stayed in a hotel room that has ever smelled this bad before. When we first got there we thought that maybe the room had been closed up for several days. We opened the window and turned the air conditioner on high, it did not make the slighted bit of difference. As I said the room looked clean to the eye but to the nose it smelled like a football locker room.” Sep 14, 2004 by
Joseph A. from Coraopolis, PA “For a Hilton Hotel it could use some updating in the rooms, but I didn't have to pay the full price either.” Sep 8, 2004 by
Jivano G. from Dayton “It was an older hotel needing updates! carpet in rooms needed to be replaced. hair dryer did not work. Otherwise it was nice!” Sep 8, 2004 by
Amanda L. from Vermilion “The hotel exceeded our expectations in cleanliness, amenities and overall ambience. The locale left a little to be desired and was a little far from the attractions of the city.”
