• Size of room and comfortable.

• I like the convenience of having a kitchenette.
• The carpet was not very clean, the bed sheets did not fit well and came off in the night.

“This is a modest extended stay hotel in a very convenient location in Ann Arbor, in the hotel row area. It lacks some amenities, pretty basic. The small kitchenette was adequate and allowed us to prepare a breakfast, however there were no cooking utensils available and no condiments on the premises. There was no clerk available one morning and customers were complaining. It is fine if you are planning on spending little time in your room, otherwise I would want a nicer place.”

• The suite was spacious, nice to have full size appliances for the cheaper price and the staff was generally friendly.
• Location, it was set back on off the road making it hard to find.

“Spacious suite hotel with laminate flooring/carpet, full size appliances and very clean. Only negative was the location. Signage should be improved to make it easier for guests to find given it set back off a road densely lined with competitor hotels that are much more easily seen.”

“This hotel is a pleasant place to stay, clean and comfortable. Would allow someone to economize by cooking their own meals in the kitchenette. Everything in the room was clean and in good order, an excellent surprise.”

• It was quiet and was like a small apartment.
• The room was not very clean, seemed to be spot cleaned instead of fully gone through.

“The hotel was tucked off the road behind other hotels, this made it hard to find. The front desk staff leaves around 11:00, so if you are arriving into town late you can not check in. The room was dirty but livable, it seems the cleaning staff only spot cleans the rooms. The room was like a small apartment, perfect for a longer stay. It was quiet, I had spent time at other hotels in the area during business trips that were very loud at night. It seemed that all the vehicles there had suits hanging in them, so I would feel comfortable saying the other guests were there for business too, and there didn't seen to be children/teens running the halls. I would stay there again. It was cheap and had everything I needed to get my work done.”

• The staff really worked with us and helped us get the best room for our needs.
• It was difficult to find due to signage issues. I think this is because they had a recent name change.

“They didn't have time to use it, but guests have privileges at a Bally Fitness Center across the road. It has a pool.”

“The fridge was noisy and sounded like someone knocking on the door, the bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable. The staff was rude, wireless internet was $9 a night. No sign by the long driveway, hard to find.”

• All other guest seemed to be permanent residents.

“Very large room and plenty of space. I was not disappointed in the hotel because I did not have high expectations. It is a 2* hotel and nothing more. The entrance is not the most inviting, but it really was not to bad inside. If I were to be in the area again and planned to actually work and relax in my hotel room I would probably stay somewhere else.”

• I love the kitchenette in the rooms because I don't like to dine out too much.
• On occasion there was no one at the desk, though I waited to bring extra towels or the like.

“Overall the hotel is clean, and the staff professional and courteous. It fits in perfectly with my need. However on more than one occasion I waited at the desk to ask for towels and there was no one there. I do not blame the girl working but the company -who did not have more than one individual on duty so they could at least step out to the bathroom if they need to. It is the company's fault for the wait. Corporations are more worried about there exorbitant salaries then customer service and a good product.”

“I had a very bad experience. The room was not clean. The heater did not work in the room. Housekeeping was called about the room being dirty they said that they cannot do anything about it. I asked for a late check-out which they said was fine but when I came back from my meeting they threw out some of my important documents and food that was in the room. I would not recommend this hotel to any one again.”

• Decor and staff were wonderful, very clean and comfortable.
• Was a little bit far from my destination.

“The front desk staff was terrific. Very helpful and friendly with a sense of humor. The room itself was so comfortable, with separate spaces for cooking/eating, working and sleeping, plus a couch to relax in. Lots of space but not so big you're lonely. The exercise room was small, but sufficient.”

• When I ever need assistance with something the front desk staff is very helpful.
• My fridge was unplugged and not working.

“My fridge wasn't working and I had a room right next to the elevator (couldn't fall asleep as it was noisy). I figured out the fridge problem and plugged in the cord for the first night and the front desk was very helpful in supporting my wishes for another room for the rest of my stay. This meant I had pack up all my belongings and move to another room which isn't a lot of fun after a 12 hour workday, yet, all in all, everything worked out OK.”

• No breakfast service on weekends, only M-F; no coffee in lobby.

“Great for a extended stay if you prefer having your own apartment-like feel. Kitchen was great bonus. Room was like a junior sweet with living area and TV, sofa and two lounge chairs. Separate work desk area. Very spacious.”

• I love the studio type room and that there is a kitchen.
• Late night checks in is difficult.

“This is always a good place to stay in Ann Arbor, especially when you're on a budget or staying for an extended time. Bagels & tea in the morning are always helpful for someone hungry and on the run. Late night check in was not as easy this last time, but the night staff took care of me appropriately.”

• I loved the mini kitchens it really helps keep cost down.
• I still would like to have the room cleaned and get fresh towels even I am staying several days.

• I was there over Thanksgiving holiday, so there was often no one at the desk.

• It was very difficult to find as there were no signs on the road where we had to turn to it.

“I would not recommend it to any one else. It is difficult to find and it does not serve any breakfasts on weekends (although weekday breakfasts are probably minimal).”

• Mattress was not comfortable and only one pillow per person provided.

“Arrived around 8 PM to check into the room after a long drive and unloading my son's things at his apartment for the new school year. We checked in fine only to go to the top floor (asked for a non-smoking room, which we saw was on the door, but it was a smoking floor and smelled awful) and when we opened the door, the room had not been cleaned. We then got reissued a room on 3rd. Much better.”

“Had three kids, one adult, gave us large suite - hardwood floors, foyer in room - leather recliner - but - sheets not changed - old food in pull-out couch - grease on kitchen floor - item left by previous guest - bugs - gave one to the desk clerk - have not heard from management.”

• Its location is not well-marked from the street.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations of a 2 star. The room and public spaces were clean and attractive. While the room was about the same size as a typical hotel room, it also contained a full kitchen. This was a little cramped, but what we lost in space we made up in convenience. On weekdays, there is a free coffee and bagel bar near the lobby.”

“Very pleased; clean, tidy; for someone staying longer than one night, would provide a place for meals, etc., which in turn would save money; but we found on a one night stay, for the price, it was exactly what we wanted. The complimentary bagels, fruit, and coffee in the a.m. were a huge bonus, which we were unable to make use of, but we were surprised that this was also included for such a reasonable price.”

• Only 9 TV channels, no bathtub drain plug, and no iron.

“Inconvenient location. ES Deluxe in Ann Arbor (2 star) is not near as nice as ES America in Ann Arbor, (1 star). TV was not equipped with satellite, (which even if it was equipped, they said it got only 25 channels) which means it got only 9 total channels. Room did not come with things that they said it would (i.e. iron). My advice: Pay less money and stay in the one star ESA, which will have a larger room and more comfort.”

• I loved the fact that the windows opened and the hotel was tucked away, but still in a convenient location.
• The room had a kitchenette, and because of this, there were no glasses set out in the bathroom.
