• Desk receptionist was extremely helpful.
• Could have used a larger aisle between beds and bureaus.

“Desk receptionist was very helpful and provided us with a printout of movies at the local cinema and directions to get there as well as a map of the U of M Campus that my daughters and I were in town to visit. Also I called to confirm reservations with Brian and he was helpful as well letting me know prior to departure that a mall was available and in in close proximity and the area of the building we needed to meet in at U of M. Great Staff!”

• Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
• No computer access.

“I found my stay there to be quite pleasant. Hotel staff were cheerful and the room was in excellent condition. Housekeeping staff were great and very thorough. I would most definitely stay there again if I am in Ann Arbor!”

• Hampton inns have very good breakfasts and great service
• the location was not near any stores what so ever. We needed a few things and went on a long goose chase to find them.

• Lots of good, tasty breakfast choices
• Cleaning staff knocked on my door at 8am..but did apoligize.

“Hampton Inn was just what I needed. It was convenient to I-94, and to many restaurants. It was welcoming(good outdoor lighting and biggish open lobby), clean, quiet(at least the night I was there), and the desk staff friendly and on top of things. The room was smallish, as was the bathroom, but clean and nice looking, with a good TV and bed and water pressure...and an in-room coffee maker before a breakfast buffet downstairs off the lobby. I liked it.”

“A very clean, courteous, efficient and friendly operation. Four trips to Hampton Inn South, Ann Arbor totaling 14 days. I expect to return in the fall. I've grown accustomed to the exceptional Hampton Inn service.”

• Beautiful, and spotless room.
• They were renovating, but that can't be helped.

“Great service, perfect location by the highway (I-94), and the room was very comfortable. Had a large bathroom which is always a plus. The pay television selection was also very good.”

• Pillows too big, breakfast not very good

“Very nice location, easy to find. Rooms newly udated. Pillows are too thick, we had sore necks in morning. Breakfast was not very good. Waffles were inedible, not enough choice of kids cereal. Staff very helpful & friendly.”

• Actually had hot pork sausage for the free Breakfast. Coffee was very good.
• The Waffles were tougher than shoe Leather.

• this hotel was really close to everything. such as many restaurants and other entertainments.
• there was a lot of construction in the hotel going on, the floor we were on was being painted.

• Problems with wake up calls and alarm clocks not working

“Did not get wakeup calls for several days, because phone line to room wasnt working. Broken clock radio was replaced when I reported it.Breakfast bar much nicer than most hotels in this category.PM front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Had problems with wireless equipment.”

• The pool and continental breakfast were very nice
• shower didn't work, small bed, noisy, next to stairs

“The hotel is fine. Clean, well kept, nice pool. But the quality of the room was less than I expected. I got very little sleep due to the noisiness of people banging the doors when going up and down the stairwells. Also, the shower didn't work and our bed was small. The bathroom had no fan.”

• The good continental breakfast spread.
• Some rooms have 1 double bed, which staff calls a "single." Very misleading, caused a big misunderstanding.

“Desk clerk was rude, at best. Spoke with management -- who knew this person's "shortcomings" -- and they were very courteous and helpful, not just to me, but apparently to the rude clerk as well.”

• Excellent value. Very clean. Best pillows, bathroom, etc. And best breakfast!
• Very hard to find it.

“One of the best continental breakfasts I've ever seen. Free daily newspapers and TV along w/breakfast. Hot selections. 4 types coffee. 3 types juice. Fresh fruit, yogurt and more. The rooms are great and very clean. Wonderful pool and workout area. I don't think I've seen cleaner bathrooms! Beds very comfy and most incredible pillows. ”

• Need to keep a fresh supply of towels by the pool. There were never towels there.

“This is a very nice lower-end hotel to spend time at. It doesn't have "frills" but it is clean, friendly, and dependable. We've stayed several times and always left satisfied.”

• The hotel was very nice for the price and had an indoor pool and wireless internet.

“This hotel is very convenient, right off the freeway. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff is very courteous and professional. Their continental breakfast is a really nice buffet. The indoor pool with a view is a nice feature. The wireless internet in the room was great. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.”

• Great location.

“The hotel was in a great location and the food was excellent. It seemed that the room I stayed in was something of a result of left over space, so they made it into an other room. It was nice to have an iron and board in my room, but it was dirty and left marks on it that I can not remove.”

• The staff is friendly and attentive, the Hampton Ann Arbor South is an excellent value
• On my first stay the indoor pool was being repaired and was not repaired on time.

“I would recommend this hotel to families as well as business travelers. The staff is friendly and attentive, the location is excellent, the complimentary breakfast is excellent, and the management is responsive to complaints such as the indoor pool being under repair longer than expected.”

• Friendly staff really makes a difference, and one staff person was unpleasant.

“This is a great hotel in a handy location. I was disappointed, however, with the response to confusion with my bill. On the morning of check-out, I was given a receipt which had my name on it, but someone else's address, credit card information and a different nightly room rate. When I politely attempted to clear up the matter, the clerk at the front desk was abrupt and unpleasant. He acted as though I'd made the error.”

• It was close to the highway and had wireless internet access.
• When I arrived in the hotel room, it was very cold and I found a strange syringe next to the bed in the room.

“The furniture in this hotel is very cheap, and it appeared that the cleaning staff did not do a thorough job of cleaning the room. Also, when I arrived in my room, the thermostat was set to cold, which I found strange considering it was mid February, and still very cold outside. However, the room was quiet, had wireless internet access, plenty of sheets and pillows, and a very large king sized bed.”
