• Clean, friendly, safe location.
• Somewhat difficult to get to from the highway, too many teenagers staying there; noisy.

• Every member of the hotel staff was wonderful.
• Noise through the pass
  through doors.

“Staff was un-comparable. Each person I encountered was very pleasant and friendly. The hotel management must be very pleased. I had to call about noisy neighbors one morning 1:30 am, the staff promptly took care of the problem, without hesitation.”

• The staff was friendly.
• The bathroom shower could have been cleaner. The workout machines needed some maintenance.

“Overall a great hotel. The room was comfortable, the staff was exceptional. It had everything we needed and was at a convenient location off the interstate. The bathroom tub needed a new mat and the workout equipment was outdated, but other than that the hotel was great!”

• The room was very nice, clean and in order. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
  
• The bathroom was not welcoming. I tried to spend very little time in the bathroom. The ceiling was rusty and other items were worn.

• Convenient - easy to find - nice rooms for the price.
• The room was not cleaned when we arrived.

“We arrived about 2:30 PM on a Saturday afternoon and the room was not cleaned. We left to do some shopping and it was cleaned when we returned, but a dirty coffee cup was left on the nightstand. Otherwise it is a nice facility and we will stay there again. Very convenient to interstate and easy to find.”

• Free appetizers and beverages on Friday night.
• Worn-out looking, from carpets, to wall coverings, to the rusty metal wall outlets and cord coverings.

“Staff were pleasant and accommodating. In general, though, this hotel just looks overly worn/used and is in need of updating. It is not at all what I expect from a 2.5 star hotel. At most, it deserves 2 stars.”

• Front desk and other staff was superb!
• Bed was obviously old and flat.

“This hotel is priced as upscale, but would need some renovations starting with improved, and newer bedding to approach 3 stars. Courtyard by Marriott which is consistently 2.5 star is a vast improvement over this facility. However the desk staff was impressive and superbly service oriented!”

• It's close to where I needed to work.
• The bed was not comfortable for sleeping and the air unit is noisy. It had no microwave or fridge.

“Location was good, near major area mall & restaurants. They don't have a business center, you could use computer at sale office that is open from 8 to 5. Sale office staff is very friendly, but still this is there work computers so it have to be a brief use. The exercise room need some major upgrades for their machines.”

• Evening hotel clerk was very friendly and accommodating.
• The door to the room was hard to open. Seemed like it needed some updates and upgrades.

“Convenient location to UTK - just a quick freeway shot. Friendly staff. Needs some upgrades and updates. Limited amenities. I would have preferred a simple, quick complimentary continental breakfast, rather than the more elaborate one where you had to join something. I don't think it cost anything to join however. Overall, I would use it for a night or two when I had to be somewhere and not planning to use the facilities as a place to hang out.”

• Wireless internet service was very slow.

• The horrible condition of the rooms - disgusting.

“Our first room that we were placed in was full of smoke even though it was a "non-smoking" room. The second room had more mold than I thought possible. The bathroom toilet leaked on to the floor and light bulbs were burnt out. It appeared as though the air conditioner unit had not been cleaned since the hotel was built. It was so bad that we turned down a free night stay on our return trip!”

• The lady at the front desk was very nice.
• The elevator sounded and moved like it was about to break. It was also very dirty and smelled. The hotel overall was dirty. I will never recommend it.

• Unclean, unsafe, shabby.

“Easy to spot and locate. No computer access, run down, dining area unkempt, staff made me uneasy by whispering my room number so others would not hear, difficult to find way back to from restaurant row, exterior doors in hallways had signage that said they were locked from outside but were not. Safety of part of town was questionable. Information from desk about children eating free was inaccurate (or did not match the dining room staff policies). The hotel was not clean, was shabby and appeared unsafe to me.”

• Hotel needs to be updated. More than just new carpet and linens. Beds are horribly uncomfortable. Bathrooms are old. Still reeks of smoking days.

“Location is the best thing about this hotel. Until it is updated, the star level needs to be lower. Its in severe need of updating. The competition is killing them on quality of furnishings, and it needs to be re-done so it no longer smells like a smokers hotel.”

• Rooms were dirty, no Kleenex or toilet paper.

“The hotel smells like mold upon 1st entering. The front desk staff x2 was not helpful. 1 didn't make eye contact or acknowledge that we were even standing there while the other was on a personal phone call for 10 minutes before helping us check in. The room had NO Kleenex and limited bath tissue. Wonderful during allergy season. I tried to call the front desk but the phone just rang repeatedly until I gave up. I had to go to the front desk when my room key wouldn't work and had to wait another 15 minutes for the man to help me, because he was again on the phone. There were 3 pillows on a king sized bed, not adequate. The room door doesn't shut automatically, you have to yank on it to the point that I hurt my shoulder and the bathroom door wouldn't close at all. I was traveling with a colleague and her room was even worse. This was NOT a good stay. Also, there was trash (a bag tie, and a wrapper) on the bed when I arrived. Not mine, not sure whose it was, but it's not what you want to see when you enter your new room.”

“When we checked in we requested a room on the first floor which was not available at the time. The guest services person told us just too lightly check into a second floor room and she would call us by 3PM when a first floor room was available. By 5 pm no one had contacted us. I went back to the desk and the new G.S. person said he was told nothing about this then got us our room. We also requested a crib for our 7 month old 5 times but did not get one in the 5 days we stayed. Our room keys stopped working several times, and one night at 10:30 pm we had to wait at the service counter for 30min with our 2 young children for someone to give us new keys. We went to the breakfast buffet at 9:15 am (closes at 10am) and they were out of almost everything, and the bit of eggs that were left was stone cold. The service was horrible over all and I may not stay at a Holiday Inn again!”
