“Traveling for Vols football game, and was one of the worst experiences I have had at a hotel. Rooms are run down, pink mold on showerheads, bed was not comfortable, staff was odd and extremely fake, breakfast would have better at a fast food restaurant, will not stay here again and definitely would not recommend.”

“This hotel had changed names since I won a bid for a room. Outline of Wyndham is still on front, but no sign has been put up in its place. Inside, a paper easel showed the new name, Park view Place or something with Park in the name.”

• The room was spacious enough to allow for playtime and a crib.
• Arrived at night. Exterior was dark and there was no visible hotel sign.

• The closeness to the highway and shopping. Very private rooms.

• Happy hour and hot breakfast were great, would prefer non smoking eating area.
• Double beds should be banned from hotels, sleeps two, no way.

“I would have had a wonderful stay if there had been rooms available with 2 queen beds. We were in the hotel because our hardwood floors were being finished. Sleep was horrible because of the double beds. My two teenage sons were in one and my husband and I in another. Really, no one wants a double any more if there is more than one person in it.”

• Called for directions and room changes and staff was very helpful.
• Very small exercise room. Two treadmills would have been nice so we could have worked out together.

“After reading some of the previous reviews I was a little worried. Renovations must have been complete as staff was very friendly and the hotel looked very nice. Had a great time and saw nothing wrong with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.”

• Rooms were noisy. A lot of outside noise. Kids partying.

• Hotel is clean, staff is helpful and friendly, breakfast is great.
• Althought the hotel is very clean, it is old and showing signs of wear ie. peeling wallpaper.

• Nice hot breakfast buffet. Free WiFi internet, a bit slow but free. Very clear cable signal. `
• Rude staff at front desk. Bathroom had mildew, cracks and rust. 2 false fire alarms. Room across from us was trashed and had no doorknob, sketchy.

“The hotel was not great by any stretch, but not as god-awful. Just mediocre. Fine for a male business traveler not used to luxury accomodations, not great for my wife, though, who likes hotels to be nicer than home. Nice free hot breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh waffles, cereal, juice, muffins, toast, grits, oatmeal, sausage, biscuits, potatoes. Free wifi internet, a little slow but definitely faster than dialup, and free. We were able to eat at a cute little french cafe style table right by the fireplace. The lobby and lounge area is actually pretty nice, versus the rest of the hotel which looks dated. In our room, the cable TV signal was the clear for a hotel. The location was great for our destination, the Baptist Women's Hospital. Our king bed was comfortable enough. It took forever to check in. The clearly overworked and frustrated clerk should have made them wait while he checked in the people without issues. Then the clerk was rude to us at check in despite our patience. Our room was nice enough, a slightly strange furniture arrangement but workable, but the bathroom was, according to my wife, nasty. There was a cracks in the floor tile, a small rusty hole in the wall, and some dark mildew stains in the shower. Outside, on the vanity, the sink handle was cracked and totally loose from the sink, making it difficult to operate. At one point I turned on the bathroom light.”

• The rooms were very clean and the breakfast offered in the mornings was excellent. It was also a very quiet and comfortable place to stay.
• It seems somewhat uninviting when you enter the lobby due to the dark lighting and older decor. However, our stay ended up being pleasant.

“The hotel is not really flashy, but it is in a good location and the rooms are very clean. great free breakfast in the morning with good coffee and a full course of foods. Very pleasant and appropriate for the 2.5 star rating.”

• Rooms were large and well decorated. All the amenities needed
• 2nd floor lodgings without elevator and us 2 gals with heavy suitcases-no security on the door-anyone could enter hotel at all hours at our back steps

“Besides mapquest giving wrong direction to turn and making us frustrated in our late arrival, the desk attendent was kinda gruff. I felt the overall interior of the hotel passageways was worn and dated. The back entrance to our rooms had a door that was unlocked and accessible by anyone at all hours. It was difficult to carry our heavy suitcases to the 2nd floor without any elevators. The breakfast offered a large selection. Internet access was delayed to do ill communicated passwords from the front desk and then it was still a bit difficult to access some of my emails from certain accounts.”

“This is an older hotel that is being refurbished. It is very comfortable and offers a very nice hot breakfast. It is in a very good area, surrounded by good restaurants within walking distance.”

• The hotel is located by a large shopping district that has something for everybody. The complimentary breakfast was great.
• The hotel was adequately clean but could have been better.

“This is a good hotel. It is conveniently located by a nice shopping area and a diversity of food choices. The rooms are nice sized. The amenities are nice. The work out room is inadequate and some of the equipment was broken. Small pets are welcome but they do not enforce this rule. Overall I would rate this hotel a 7 on a scale of 1-10.”

• The room was large. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room.
• The carpet appeared worn and dirty. The wallpaper in the hall needed to be replaced.

• Located near many options for food, shopping, etc. and easy access to highway.
• No elevators made it more difficult to load and unload luggage.

“The Clubhouse in Knoxville is very convenient for traveling and is located near many different options for shopping and eating. The room was clean and the decor was as expected for most hotels. There was also a free breakfast which was better than what I had at a Holiday Inn and a Hampton Inn on the same trip. Overall a good experience and the price was hard to beat.”

• It is in need of a remodel in the room areas of the hotel.

“The lobby, reception and dining area are in very good shape. The room areas need some work - the carpet is matted down and dirty looking. The fixtures in the tub looked corroded and there was a hole in the wall of my room where the door had punched through the wall.”

• when I called at 11pm for a wakeup call couldn't get an answer for 20-30 rings and then the man was rude

“Even in tense situations, this hotel exhibited a staff able to offer quality service. On our first night at the hotel, a fire broke out in the laundry facility. The staff remained professional and quickly escorted guests from their rooms. They constantly communicated with guests until everyone was able to return to their rooms safely. The courteous staff was able to maintain humor and their integrity throughout the rest of our stay in Knoxville.”

“I would NEVER stay in this place again! It was nasty, had an insect problem and caught fire the last night I was there. When I complained, the staff member said, "Sorry.. I'll let housekeeping know." She didn't even apologize for the inconvenience of the fire! I stay in the Knoxville area about once a month.”

• It was in a convenient location.
• It was much older than I expected and had a lot of repairs that needed to be done. In addition there was a dryer fire in the laundry room.

“This hotel was fair. Had I been aware there was a Hilton near by I would much rather have stayed there. There were plenty of nice hotels in the area that would have received a better than 2.5 star rating.”

“We were very pleased with our stay at the Clubhouse Inn. As a matter of fact, my husband told my brother, "I would like to remember that hotel for a future stay." We were also thrilled it was on the outskirts of Knoxville which is our least favorite city to travel through in route from AL to PA to visit family.”

• Older, well worn needs more lighting in the rooms hard to study

“The rooms were nice but a little out dated, a little musty but the space was great and it was only a couple of minutes from the testing center. The staff was friendly and would say hi to you in the hallways. The hot breakfast bar was very good, saved us time and money.”

“Location of hotel is very good. Over-all appearance of hotel is good. Front dest clerk had poor attitude, not helpful, poor communication skills. Lobby and public areas well furnished and well decorated. Wall covering in hallways worn and torn. Room doors dirty and worn. Mildew in tub. Poor exercise room and equipment. Hotel property is over rated. Should not be better than a two star, at best, rather than a three star.”

“The room I received was a smoking room with cigarette burns on the furniture, phone and ceiling. There was a beetle/roach in the room that I chased down and killed. The room was on the first floor and the window lock was broken so I jammed some books in the rail for security. There is no way that this is a 2-star hotel. I've stayed in 1-star hotels nicer than this. Avoid the ClubHouse Inn and Suites in Knoxville!!!”

• The man named that check me in at 2am in the morning was great. He was fast and friendly. He acted like he expected me and was great.
• The hallway carpet is very dirty.

• Generous breakfast buffet. Found a great discount rate online.
• A little hard to find, but I called and they provided directions from where I was.

“Clean, comfortable and I found great deal online. Generous breakfast buffet added to the value. The building was well insulated for sound so the nearness to the interstate didn't bother me at all. Helpful staff. Only drawback was no elevator to the second floor, so if stairs are an issue for you, be sure to ask for the first floor. ”

• Nice area and rooms in good condition.
• The mattress must be as old as the hotel, it was like being sea sick, results in bad nights rest.

• the layout of the hotel was nice
• the desk drawer in the room was broken and the chairs in the restaurant were old and dirty. all the furniture was old and needs to be replaced.

“The hotel was nice and clean. The furniture was old and some furniture was broken. The bathroom tubs had small holes. The place needs to replace furniture and redo the bathrooms.”
