• Upscale management, great location.
• The rooms were not as updated at the outside of the building, no mini-fridge.

“This is a nice and safe hotel, very clean. However, the rooms are not as updated as I would expect for a 3 1/2 star. There was no mini-fridge. It is right near the highway and shopping. Easy in and out. I would stay here again, just with 3 star expectations and then I would have been happier.”

• The rooms were nicely decorated, pleasant staff.
• Beds were uncomfortable, tub did not drain.

“This hotel should probably upgrade their mattresses. The tub not draining was a nuisance but the staff let us use the room next door to shower. Good location, quiet. Very friendly staff.”

• I always enjoy the quality and consistency of the Marriott's food.
• I'm sorry, I have absolutely no complaints.

“The Marriott Gwinnett Place, Atlanta - was a large very attractive hotel with 3 restaurants. The food was good, the rooms were large, comfortable and attractive; the staff was very courteous. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would hope to stay there again when I visit the area next year.”

• Cockroach invasion.

“I had a very pleasurable stay at this hotel. Friendly staff, good service, nice location. However, the cockroaches were adamant that they had also paid for my room and nothing would make them go away. Upon complaining to the front desk, they sprayed the room while I went out for the day, they also gave me some free dinner passes to make up for the "nasty invaders". Overall, very nice place to stay, just watch out for them roaches!”

• The whole hotel is non-smoking, clean, fresh smelling, bright and welcoming.
• When I called the evening before to confirm my reservation, the woman on the phone hung up on me, and was rude when I called back.

“The Marriot Duluth is a high-rise, handsome hotel very closed to I-85. It is in a good area for shopping and restaurants. I would not call this exact part of Duluth upscale, but I felt safe and the parking lot is convenient and well-lit for a lady alone. I loved that you must have a valid room card to utilize the elevator to the floors above the lobby. I think it adds a level of security unusual in this star rating of hotel. The management of the hotel are serious about the appearance of the hotel, it is spotless and beautiful. Room service was quick, with a good variety, and the server was pleasant and respectful. Express checkout was great. The bed and bedding is to die for, and the room clean and without odor. The decor was pleasing and rich-looking, without being fussy. Work areas and vanity were beautiful and luxurious, TV and sofa were great. I didn't like the bath, because I feared falling on the highly polished floor. The only other negative is that one of the staff was very rude to me the night before when I called to confirm my reservation, hanging up on me before I was finished speaking. Great hotel.”

• View from the room window and the bedding was awesome.
• Wish the room had been bigger and that the sofa had been longer, also wish it had fridge and microwave.

• They charged for internet, most hotels do not charge for wireless internet.

“Good hotel, but they kill you with the little charges, breakfast, wireless internet etc. Most places are giving you wireless access. The breakfast was not worth the 10.00 buffet prices.”

• I'm stretching here but the TV was positioned a little low.

“I took my father on this trip and shared a room with him and my son. My father snores like a bear. The volume was so loud that I went down to the lobby at 12:30am, credit card in hand; ready to rent an extra room. ”

• We thought the positioning of the furniture in the room made the setup somewhat convoluted and cumbersome.

“The night of our stay, we experience a power outage until about 3am. However, I have always been pleased with the Marriott brand and my husband and I decided to stay and not go to another hotel. The management staff was very supportive of the customers that stayed and kept us informed of the situation. The customer service was still great in spite of the circumstances.”

• Pleasant hill blv. & i-85 is a challenge; not the hotel's fault but traffic at that intersection is awful.

• The beds were amazing - even the pillows.
• Rooms a little on the small side.

“Stayed here with my mother and 7 year old daughter just for 1 night passing through Duluth. We didn't have time to check out the pool, but the room and lobby decor was just lovely. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I had EVER slept on. Best sleep I have ever had in a hotel. This hotel is minutes to everything. If you need to stay in Duluth, stay here. Big thumbs up!”

• The BED!! That was the best sleep. The bed was so comfortable. All was good but the bed was unbelievable.
• Nothing- everything was lovely.

• We loved the down mattress topper. The bed was very comfortable.
• The dressing portion of the bathroom was somewhat cramped for 2 people.

“The location was fine and the hotel was very clean. The staff was very helpful when asked about anything. The bell caption was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and helpful in giving us directions to the different areas of Atlanta that we wanted to visit. On the whole, we were very satisfied.”

• Clean, excellent amenities, comfortable bed.
• $10/day Internet charge, no fridge/microwave, annoying maids.

“The room was small but bright, comfortable, and well appointed. A few minor annoyances include: The maids kept knocking even though I had the "DND" sign on the door. VERY annoying. At check-in, I got a "whiff" of attitude from the desk clerk. Like other Marriott they still think they can charge $10/day for Internet service. I don't like being "nickeled-and-dined" for service I can get for free at a $40/night Motel-6.The health club (gym/pools) was well equipped and a nice feature. The bed was excellent. Overall, a very nice 3*star hotel and worth staying, especially if you can get a deal.”

• This hotel was better than I expected. It had updated decor and was very clean. Great overall experience!
• Room service did not come one day so they had to clean the room after we arrived back that night. Other than that it was great!

• it was the same location as the conference I was attending.
• I don't remember if during the reservation process it asked about a non smoking room. we would have preferred non smoking. but the room was fine.

• Great indoor/outdoor pool and workout room
• Bathroom could use some added shelves, as vanity was very small and left little room for cosmetics and such
