• The bed was very comfortable.
• You had to park next to the Greyhound bus station.

“The hotel had a lot of parties the weekend we stayed and the staff did not clean up after them in a timely manner. The room had a very comfy bed, but house keeping didn't clean the following days.”

• Very clean, very friendly staff, very close to destination.
• Food in restaurant was disappointing for the price .

“We chose the hotel because of its location to our destination. The rooms were comfortable, the beds clean and made. The staff was friendly and accommodating to us. The food was disappointing for the cost and the lounge was limited in the drink selection.”

• The facilities were inviting and the staff was amazing.
• There weren't nearly enough outlets in my room.

“The hotel staff was quite knowledgeable of their area and even suggested restaurants for us that we could walk to. The room itself was ok. The beds were comfortable and the blankets were clean and warm. The lack of power outlets was disappointing as I had multiple items that required them. The bathroom was also kind of small, but adequate.”

• Close to the office.
• They charged me to park even though they have free parking. I drive a Club Wagon and it is too tall for the parking structure so I was left no choice.

“I would prefer to talk to a book as to the hotel personnel and staff who have been trained by the book how to speak to the guests. It is truly pretty sad to talk to three people and the conversation/questions and interaction are all the same, Just like the book.”

• I have stayed here many times and it is an excellent hotel.
• I don't like that there is no parking, but it's a down town hotel.

“I was extremely satisfied with my stay at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dayton. The hotel itself was beautiful, room was clean and spacious. Food and entertainment more than met my expectations. Proximity to the University of Dayton campus was also a bonus!”

• Consistency. Staff was polite and the rooms kept clean.
• Security lax in an area that needs good security.

“Clean three star in a very bad area. Food was good, staff was professional, rooms were well kept. The main issue was getting to your room alive from the parking garage. The parking garage sits above the Greyhound Station in an area of town where people inspect the items you have in your car while you are still in it. They need real security in the garage on a consistent basis. Also the key locked doors to the hotel from the unsecured garage were never working the week I was there. This allows anyone access to the upper floors, and is a real security concern. To sum up it is a 3* castle in a 1 star neighborhood and the moat has been drained. I would not let my wife stay there, but if I had to be in Dayton again I would consider it but only if I got an Ohio concealed weapons permit ahead of time.”

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room size was sufficient for me and my guest. The decor was pleasing. The location was perfect; close to dining, clubs, and directly across the street from the convention center. This hotel sponsors lawn concerts and festivals during the summer on Sundays. I did not like the food though. It had a hospital quality to the room service food. The restaurant food was nicely presented, but very bland and pricy. The live band in the club especially was a nice surprise. The club closes at 1 am on the weekends though.”

• Parking and crosswalk were very clean and safe.
• Lobby smelled funny, dirty bath tub, stained sheets, dirty pillow cases and towels.

“It was really confusing just trying to get to the hotel with all the one way streets. The lobby smelled funny. The bath tub was dirty. The bed sheets had stains on them and some pillow cases were dirty. The staff was friendly and parking was free, but the dirtiness of this hotel is something you would not expect and we did not either.”

• The lobby is beautifully appointed.
• The room was substandard, dirty, and uncomfortable.

“The hotel is situated conveniently downtown; however, the constant roar of motorcycle traffic may keep light sleepers awake into the night. In the winter there might be less traffic, but one must wait until past 3 am when the bars are all closed to sleep during the summer.”

“The hotel and room were nice. The room however was very noisy. When the room was cleaned the garbage was not emptied, an empty cup and an empty can were not removed, the tub had water left in it, the iron was not put away. The cleaning of the room was minimal.”

• The beds were very comfortable, as well as the pillows.
• They did not have sofa beds and the rooms were to small for a rollaway.

“For an overnight stay, this was fine. The rooms were small, so three of us in the room were falling over each other. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, although the beds squeaked. Noisy at night with other travelers letting their doors slam shut.”

• The consideration for the guest to have a good nights sleep with the amenities left.
• Although it didn't seem unsafe, it was a concern that the parking garage was above bus terminal.

“I was very impressed with this hotel and the staff was extremely friendly. I enjoyed my two night stay there and will definitely stay at this hotel again if I am in town on business or for any other reason.”

“The room was overall pretty good. Upon checking in, the parking situation was explained to me but no one said you should unload your bags now and put them on a cart. I didn't realize the distance of the parking structure to the room and had to make 2 separate trips just to get luggage from car to room.”

• I liked that this Downtown hotel had free parking. Big plus.
• The elevators were very slow.

“I thought the hotel was very nice, seemed a bit outdated but appeared to be under some construction. I think the Downtown location near the Oregon District was a huge plus. The staff was very helpful in getting us a taxi on an early Sunday morning (hard to do in Dayton!).”

“Comfortable enough generic rooms, but rather dingy, down at heel looking common areas. The chief drawback for all but business travelers with business in downtown Dayton is the location: after business hours and on the weekends, the downtown area is an almost sinister ghost town.”

• The roof top restaurant was really nice. Prices at the restaurant were surprisingly affordable.
• The parking garage. Valet was overpriced considering garage was free and meters are right out front.

“The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was neat and clean. The price of the hotel served the purpose since we were traveling as a family and did not spend much time there. We spent more time out site seeing that at the hotel. I would go back again if I am ever in the Dayton area, no doubt.”

• There was a terrible smell in the lobby and lower level hallways. It smelled like a dirty toilet.

“There is very little around this hotel and downtown Dayton has suffered severe urban blight. As an early morning walker I was uneasy but somewhat reassured that there was a transit police officer on every corner in the morning and afternoon.”

• I liked the location! It was for the most part a very friendly environment and front desk employees very helpful!!
• Room Service food quality was terrible! I also had problems with the Internet service.

“I would recommend this hotel in the future. I had problems with the Internet. Upon contacting the front desk, they advised me to call their Internet technician who was on call 24/7. I then called "Norm" who told me that at the time he was occupied on another assignment. I was ok with this. Norm stated that he would be to my room #609 in a half an hour. I told him that I would be around and would wait for him. All of this was at 6 O'clock pm. I then called Norm at 7:20pm to see what was going on to which he stated he forgot. I was not impressed for the amount of money spent on the hotel for their workers to treat the guests this way. After Norm showed up he stated that there was nothing he could do for me. I brought my computer to my home and hooked it up and it worked with no problem. The room service food quality was not up to par. Food very bland and "generic" tasting and very pricey at that. Other than those two things. My stay was great. I enjoyed the hotel environment. Very cozy/romantic. Also very clean environment.”
