• Very clean, nice room and comfortable bed.
• We arrived at 11:30 pm after 6 hours of travel. We were told that we had 30 minutes before kitchen closed. Very rude bartender who rushed us to order.

“It was a shame that this beautiful hotel had a staff member who was rude. He was obviously annoyed that we arrived at 11:30pm. I asked at the desk how late the kitchen was open. We had not eaten in 11 hours and intended to get something simple to prepare but his rudeness took us by surprise.”

• On going renovation is a bit bothersome but manageable and pool party music until 11:00 pm was a bit much.

• High quality food at the restaurant. A tad expensive, but not so considering high quality.
• Pool/hot tub/outside bar closed too early (11PM) - especially on weekends.

“The bed was very comfy. The room was not very spacious, but worked out ok. The bath was clean, but all the facilities were in one room, rather than being split up. The lobby was beautiful as was the outside landscaping. The pool area was clean, large with the pool partially inside and outside. The outside pool patio was large. There was live music there on Fri and Sat nights. However, that area closed at 11PM (too early for me) and there was quite a bit of foot traffic from the parking area through the lobby, through the pool area. With guests, locals making their way to the live music and outside bar. For those of us in the hot tub, this was a bit out of place. Our being in bathing suits, all the foot traffic being in glamour and makeup. Many of them had some funny or smart comment to make to us.”

• Close to University of Dayton campus.
• Fine dining required driving into downtown Dayton (about 10 minutes). Also, breakfast was not included and internet access cost was $10 per day.

“Our room was very recently remodeled. Linens were new and fluffy, bedding included several pillow selections and duvet. The bathroom was sparkling clean with new marble sink/vanity. Our stay was very quiet and comfortable.”

• Comfy beds. Pretty view out large windows. Spacious. Awesome thermostat controls.
• Hair in bathroom upon check in. Stale smell. Not enough counter space for makeup/hair.

• Hotel is central to most everything in Dayton.
• Hotel is getting old, but is still nice.

• Some hall noise was bothersome, but that was situational.

• The hotel had a number of different functions happening at the same time, and yet my small party of a few friends was not disturbed.
• The sink area is quite small. It wouldn't matter so much but the lighting above the sink is poor.

“Will always try to stay at the Marriott on Patterson Blvd. whenever in Dayton. It offers all the modern conveniences and is ideally located.”

• My son's college was within four miles, we were able to swim and relax in the whirlpool.
• Completely met our expectations.

“All employees very friendly, and professional. This was a pleasure trip for my husband and I to visit with our college son over night. We were able to have a nice dinner, go swimming, and watch a funny movie in our room. Recommend this location for comfort and conveniences.”

• The beds and linens were extremely comfortable.
• When traveling with family, no extra outlets near mirror to get ready outside bathroom.

“A welcoming and comfortable entrance. Rooms were comfortable and adequately sized for a quick overnight stay. No fan in bathroom produced steam while one was showering and one trying to use mirror in bathroom! As common with most hotels, the thing we find most frustrating traveling as a family is that there is usually no access to another electrical outlet near a mirror away/outside of the bathroom area. With two or more women needing to get ready for the day, or for a special event i.e. A wedding, you need to have an extra convenient/accessible outlet for a hairdryer, curling iron, etc, that is near a mirror so that more than one person can get ready at the same time. Example: a mother/daughter can't use the bathroom mirror for hair drying and makeup when you have a husband/son needing to shower! It would be easy to put an extra electrical outlet near the closet doors which are often mirrored, or near a hanging full length mirror that is located outside of the bathroom. A small/narrow table or a fold down flat surface (that could be built into the wall) could be paired with an electrical outlet to provide more "getting ready" space. I've been waiting for years for a non-luxury hotel/resort to provide this simple convenience.”

• Hotel was conveniently located, although a bit difficult to find.
• Very dated. Holes & stains on curtains.

“Great location just outside the downtown area. The hallways had a maze like feel to them, making my trip to the room a bit uncomfortable. The bed had small pillows. The curtains were tattered, would not close far enough to cover the window (lack of enough fabric) and stains on both the curtains and cornice board. There was no holder for the toilet paper in the bathroom but instead was stacked on the back of the toilet.”

• Nice atmosphere and easy to get to off expressway.
• Live band until 11 pm, so is loud Friday/Saturday nights!

• Beautiful park location. Classy grounds and property.
• Not within a business district or near main roads.

“This is a beautiful hotel between the river and a lovely park. Not far from the famous Carillon park as well. Perfectly clean and well-maintained rooms and property. Plenty of free parking. We felt safe as well as cared for during our 3-day stay.”

• It was one of the cleanest that I have been to in a long time, and the guest room staff were very friendly in the halls.
• A concert outside our window until 11pm made it hard to get a 3yr old asleep early.

“The hotel was one of the cleanest that I have been to in a while. The housekeeping staff was very nice. I was disappointed that there was a concert outside our room for 2 nights that lasted until 11pm which made it impossible to get my 3yr old asleep on time by 9pm. And there were only 4 rolling luggage carts which were very inconvenient at check out. When I brought it to the staffs' attention I was told that they only have 4 and I could wait at the front door for one to be available. Please keep in mind that I was traveling alone with a child of 3. Also at check out I was told that there was a movie charged to my credit card. I was the only adult in the room and didn't order a movie, but was told that It was my responsibility to watch the child to make sure that movies were not purchased by accident. The woman that checked me out proceeded into the back room and returned with what looked like a credit card paper, and told me that the movie ran for 45min before it was aborted and that she would keep the charge on the card that was presented at check in. I was not at all happy with paying for a movie that wasn't watched by anyone.”

“There were nice amenities but hotel personnel did nothing to promote a family atmosphere. I am not sure if it was due to heavy sports team weekend but it was difficult to have use of the amenities or even walk down the hallways without being over run by disrespectful guests esp. my 6 year old son.”

• The pool area and exercise areas were wonderful. The hotel staff was pleasant.
• The building was smoke-free, but the room I stayed in smelled like smoke. The staff was kind enough to move me.

“The hotel staff was very friendly. The lobby, pool and exercise rooms were quite clean, but the room I stayed in looked as if it hadn't been dusted in a few months. The food in the bar and grill was very good and the waitress was quite friendly and informative as she directed me to shopping in the area. I will definitely stay again.”

• I could not get a smoking room and the shuttle did not run on Sunday.

“Lovely hotel However, I wanted to be downtown this hotel is not downtown, the web site said it had a shuttle to get me there and back however the shuttle does not run on Sunday therefore I had to pay for a cab to get me there and back. I spent way more money on the cab then what I saved. I also wanted a smoking room and this is a smoke free hotel. I was not happy.”

“I love to stay at this Marriott. It is a very nice hotel. We didn't spend a lot of time at the hotel, but enjoyed the time we did spend there. It was very quiet and we slept well. The morning paper was nice. It is very conveniently located to the convention center.”

• We were pleasantly surprised to arrive to an executive suite rather than the standard room.

• The beds at this Marriott are heavenly.
• We were unable to get a late check-out. We had no where to go until 3pm. It stunk!

“My husband and I live in two states. We rendezvous in Dayton periodically and always try to stay at the Marriott Dayton. We were unable on this visit to get a later check out. Our time together is precious and that one extra hour would've made such a difference for us. The front desk said they had too many rooms to turn over to allow anyone a late check-out, no exceptions. We had to vacate the room by noon and had no where to go until our departure at 3pm. When we returned to the hotel at 3pm to pick up our other car, the parking lot was empty. There was no rush of new guests to have rooms ready for. I could see no reason why we were not allowed a later departure. I think we will be reconsidering staying there next time.”

• Convenience to university of Dayton.
• The food we had for room service was too salty and I woke up during the night thirsty.

“Overall I was very pleased with my stay at the Marriott. The room was lovely; the beds were very comfortable, proximity to university of Dayton made the extra cost for us worth while.”
