• The free breakfast with individually wrapped bagels and muffins.
• The cleanliness of the room and the musty smell.

“The room had a musty smell and the carpet was dirty and the bathroom floor was sticky. The location was good and the free breakfast was OK. I would not recommend this hotel.”

• Everything was nice, the breakfast was nice and the area was pretty safe.
• The beds were very small size beds, thought they were at least queen size.

“I enjoyed it overall and the price was great. I will plan to go back next year for the family reunion again in Tallahassee.”

“I really didn't expect much as the rate was good and the reputation of the chain is pretty good. I did however expect a little more from the condition of the rooms and lobby area. More attention to detail. Room was musty and a little smoky.”

• Convenient to FSU.
• The room air conditioners.

“The motel was fine for a La Quinta. What is not fine are the motel's new room air conditioners. These units do not allow the guest to control whether the fan on the unit remains on while the compressor cycles on and off. Instead, the fan and compressor cycle on and off together, a
big distraction when trying to sleep. I won't stay at establishments with such a set up again.”

• The location was close to people we were visiting. The lobby was attractive.
• The outside was nice looking but the rooms were very rundown: pealing paint, old mirrors foam mattress.

“We did not pay much for the room so were not extremely disappointed, but the rooms are in desperate need of renovation. Paint was pealing from the ceiling, aged mirrors, sink did not drain properly, very thin towels.”

• Lack of concern for sleepless night due to domestic violence in next room.

“Very clean rooms and convenient to restaurants and shopping. Desk help was friendly. Breakfast is not much offered the same thing every morning. Domestic violence in room next door went on most of night and a drunk tried to break into my mother's room, beat on the door so hard it knocked the pictures off the wall. Desk help was very apologetic, but that was all we got from them.”

• They had a nice breakfast set-up in the lobby. Too few tables.
• Bad pillows. Flat as a pancake even with two. One bathroom was moldy and smelled.

“The hotel served our needs; nothing fancy, no frig or micro-wave in the room. But a nice breakfast was available in the lobby. We were in town for a wedding so we were not at the hotel much. The pool was nice and the children enjoyed it. Staff was helpful and polite except for some yelling back and forth to one another. The mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were awful! I would not stay there again. For the price we could have stayed at a nicer place.”

• I can bring my 2 little doggies and I like the location.
• The beds are not very comfortable.

“I like this hotel chain. They allow small dogs (although many people bring in large dogs and they don't seem to have any problems). The location is perfect for us. It has been freshly painted - a nice sunny yellow outside and the landscaping is nice.”

• Clean pool, and lobby and surrounding area, plus a great dog walk area.
• The shower didn't work properly, and the room seemed old and smelled at first like smoke.

• It allow pets! No deposit, no problems.
• Most staff was unfriendly. Room could definitely have been cleaner.

“If you are traveling with pets - this could be the hotel for you as pets are welcome. Rooms are relatively clean but staff are not very friendly. The outside is newly painted. The pool looked clean. Complementary continental breakfast was adequate.”

• Good morning breakfast staff.
• First room had ants, I had to switch, small poor choice of TV channels, no roaming security guards, sink drain plug has to lifted by hand.

“I've stayed here before and will probably stay here again but not by my choice only out of convenience and price.”

• They had a very nice continental breakfast.
• The bed was really uncomfortable.

“The first room we went into was a non-smoking but had been smoked in and I felt dirty after walking out. She moved us to another room that smelled okay but the beds were terribly uncomfortable (worse than an air mattress) and I think there were bed bugs in the bed because we both itched terrible all night. We awoke at 5:00 am and left after a decent shower and a muffin at a dirty table. We had to clean it before we sat down but there was dried on food.”

• The courtyard with swimming pool.
• The room was very old and the toilet was not clean and the cleanliness of the rest was skeptic.

“The pool area was nice. The room was old and didn't feel very clean. The toilet needed to be re-cleaned. Continental breakfast in lobby was also nice. Location was very safe and near a lot of restaurants. The price was great!”

• Staff was very friendly and helpful. We left a school backpack and they mailed it to us.
• Rooms and furnishings are older and worn.

“Not my favorite place or brand. Some La Quinta's are great, some are not. This one was not.”

• Great location and nice room, breakfast bar and coffee maker in room!

“I have stayed here twice while visiting son at college. I love the hotel and there are lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. It had a great breakfast bar and the staff were always accommodating.”

• Outside of room, breezeway and stairs very dirty. Did not replace in room coffee on second day.

“The hotel staff seemed to be confused checking in, the hotel lobby and outside was not very clean, checking out took over fifteen minutes. Location was convenient.”

• Good location, friendly front desk staff, decent service recovery.
• Could not connect with internet, room smelled bad, three tries to get room with bed made.

“pleasant staff, good location, housekeeping didn't get done because they left for the day before we were ready in room at noon. Upon arrival at 11 pm, three tries to get a room with a made up bed. Manager did make a good attempt to recover service, but unpleasant things kept happening, such as being unable to connect with Internet.”

• OK location. Free Gold's Gym use.
• Needed exterior maintenance and cleaning. Terrible smell of mildew in the rooms. Interior needed remodeling and redecorating due to poor condition.

“This hotel is filthy. The staff does not care and the rooms were disgusting. The smell was horrible as was the mildew on the bathroom walls. I could not say enough harsh things about our unfortunate stay there.”

• The staff was friendly and made the stay better.
• The location of my room was too close to the rooms they were remodeling, therefore you can smell the paint . etc.

“I have always enjoyed staying at La Quinta hotels, but this time the rooms were not up to standard. They are in the process of remodeling rooms, which they should choose rooms for the guests with this in mind. I was two doors from a remodel room, which I could smell the paint and other fumes from the room, and see the toilet in the middle of the room. They also didn't have enough of certain items for the continental breakfast. I pray the the next time I bid on my hotel, this La Quinta will not take my bid.”

“I have not had the best experiences at previous LaQuinta Inn hotels, so I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this hotel had recently been renovated. It was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. I have already recommended it several colleagues.”

“The clerk at check-in seemed to hurry me out of the lobby. I asked about restaurants, and directions and was given one or two word answers. The room had an unpleasant odor to it, hard to define. The continental breakfast consisted of some doughnut holes, pre-packaged bagels, and toast. The check-out clerk wanted us to have breakfast so she could have breakfast before checking us out. We decided not to have breakfast! We also decided not to check in at the La Quinta we had booked in Gainsville!”

• Very convenient location, and the rooms had been thoroughly cleaned
• Delay checking in, many maintenance problems in our part of the hotel, housekeeping checked in several times to see when we were going to check out

“Overall, the hotel was more than worth the price we paid for it. The rooms were some of the cleanest ones that we have seen in a while.”

• The breezeways and walkways could use a stream cleaning.

“La Quinta Inn on Apalachee Parkway in Tallahassee, FL was a pleasure. The young man, Brian, at the front desk was pleasant and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable with extra amenities and I would be happy to stay there again. This was an escape from home and no electricity due to Hurricane Jeanne.”

“The La Quinta in provided Quickest check-in/out that I have ever experienced. As far as service, the staff was excellent. However, the hotel room had a really bad odor. We tried to stifle the odor with air fresheners, but it just didn't work. Also, the bath tub was not up to par. It should have been replaced. Other areas in the hotel seem to have been renovated. Maybe they will work on replacing bath tubs later.”
