• Very clean, smelled great, great surroundings.
• Nothing!

“Hotel was like an upscale hotel in Manhattan, NY. Service was outstanding. Pool and workout areas were upscale. Beds were comfortable and towels were fluffy. Five star restaurant, cafe and bar. Free parking both inside and out which was a pleasant surprise for a downtown hotel.”

• Great style change throughout renovation, upscale atmosphere in older downtown midland.
• Didn't expect the amount of renovations/construction.

“I was disappointed at the amount of ongoing renovations - lobby, basement, gym, but I was impressed with the design changes, decor, and the Cafe Zinc. I recognize the potential finished product. Nice European cafe feel - great coffee.”

• The beds are absolutely fabulous! I have never experienced anything even close to these!
• Under construction on lower 2 levels. (We were on the top floor).

“Still under renovation - when finished later this year, it will be excellent!”

• The marketplace.

“It is a luxury hotel in a small town. The marketplace was excellent. You could go get free water, pop, juice, snacks of all sorts for free! This is something I have never seen, and I travel 4 days a week every week.”

• Right next to a park, sports park & nature center, being remodeled & new.
• Restaurant & bar were closed & under construction.

“We travel to midland several times a year & the h will be our hotel from now on. Excellent friendly service newly remodeled. Excellent exercise facility with a lot of equipment! We can't wait until the next time & to experience the restaurant & bar when the remodel is completed.”

• Proximity to the Tridge and park, luxury bedding, very friendly staff greeted me by name.
• You have to walk through the gym machine area to get to the pool. This might change with the renovations?

“Very friendly staff and helpful maid service. Didn't mind the renovations going on at all. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat! Sure beats the Holiday Inn - Well worth the few extra dollars!”

• I thought the restaurant was very good.
• The towels and overall amenities did not meet my expectations.

“I thought that this hotel was nice. They are going through renovations currently, so nothing was open for me (such as the pool, workout facility, etc) and that was very disappointing. The rooms were not up to my standard. The towels were torn and ripped which I thought was unacceptable. The staff was pretty nice.”

• The location was excellent for midland.
• Construction, construction, and at check-in the room wasn't cleaned as well as it should.

“The Ashman was nice, better than all other midland hotels (and we've tried four others). Perhaps when the construction is done, it can be a 3-star or better, but, no pool, subpart cleaning, and construction everywhere yields a dissatisfying stay.”

• The beds were very comfortable; the front desk employees were awesome.
• The pool was under construction, but they did give us free passes to the community center, but we didn't use them.

• Very clean * a plus for a hotel* and extremely helpful and friendly staff!
• The pool was closed due to renovations.

“Overall my husband and I were very impressed with this hotel. It was beautiful, the town was quaint and perfect for just the two of us (very romantic) and was very close to several downtown venues! The bed was huge and fluffy with tons of pillows. I brought my own toiletries. But they had a wonderful selection to use (admittedly I used the lotion. it was awesome!) The lounge food/drinks were delicious and very spacious/beautiful. Great hotel!”

“Ashman court is a nice place to stay. It is clean and the staff was very helpful. On the down side there are several construction projects on going at this point, however we never had a problem with noise. I would recommend this hotel to others.”

• The location was easy to find and the lobby was very welcoming as we entered.
• There was no continental breakfast.

“Over all the hotel was lovely. Unfortunately they are undergoing much remodeling. The pool and fitness area as well as the parking garage was all closed and will be for some time. We were told they are going through a $22,000,000.00 in renovations. When it is done I am sure it will be superb.”

• Excellent beds and bedding, beautiful courtyard, wonderful restaurant.
• The business office should have more than one computer for guest use, and internet access should be available for free.

“Almost perfect experience, unless you are a business traveler, if that's a customer they want to encourage more of, they need a better "business office". Other than that, everything was superb. Another suggestion; have a bottle opener in the room as well as small refrigerator, maybe microwave? Again, this mainly would benefit business travelers.”

• The beds are incredibly comfortable with many quality pillows, down comforter. It's "the Marriot Bed."
• The pool is small and dreary.

“The staff are very courteous, even friendly. The location is very good and clean. Room service varied on the last two times I've been there (once, breakfast was cold; the other time it was hot).”

“Perfect location serving tri city area, clean farmer's market Saturday morning. no breakfast accept in the hotel. Staff that were serving conventions also at the hotel tried to be very helpful wireless internet only in lobby and first floor.”

• This hotel has a wonderful gym and game room and is located right on main st.
• The pool was rather small and often full of young kids which made it impossible to swim.

“This is a wonderful hotel, centrally located with very comfortable beds and an extremely friendly and helpful staff. It was a pleasure to stay there.”

• From the freeway, it is a little hard to find. Many turns.

“This is a typical Mariott hotel: new facility, very upscale, clean, modern. The location is nice within easy walking distance of the farmers market and many downtown shops. It is certainly among the best hotels within an hour drive of this location.”

“Perfect setting overlooking the 'Tridge' in the center of a nice little downtown area. They offered free covered parking with access directly into the lobby. The Sunday Brunch was not only reasonably priced but the food was excellent. The facilities were extremely well maintained. A pleasant surprise would be my general overview.”
