• Friendly, helpful staff, perfect location, very nice hotel and exceeded my expectations!
• No free WiFi in rooms. Hated having to go to the business center after a long, hard day at FSU.

“Excellent location, downtown only blocks from the Capitol. Staff was friendly and helpful. Was confused about valet parking; we were first told that Valet is $8 per day and $6 for self park. We were not charged for either.”

• The hotel charges $6.00 a day to park there.

“The hotel was very nice and clean. The only bad thing is parking. You can either park on the street or pay the hotel $6.00 to pay in the garage.”

• Water coming into elevator.

“This hotel was not the quality of most Doubletree Hotels. The bathroom was old and patched up. The tub was not nice for bath taking. A pretty heavy rain came and the elevators had water pouring down the walls and I had to stand in a puddle of water on the floor of the elevator. This did not feel safe. The workers in the restaurant were rude.”

• Personnel were very friendly, rooms and entire hotel was clean. Beds are very comfortable.
• Shower curtain had a mildew smell and stains. The food was not pleasing and too highly priced and the restaurant coffee was too strong.

“I thought it was a fine hotel. The location in downtown Tallahassee was excellent. The staff were friendly. Just a little bit of bother from noisy people in the adjoining room.”

• Location was close to our destination!
• The only thing I wasn't comfortable with was the bathroom, needs to be updated.

“Room was nice, clean and comfortable! There was some mold in the shower that should have been cleaned, but that was my only complaint. Staff was friendly. I'm staying in the same hotel for homecoming in November.”

• Great location; plenty of things to do an places to eat within walking distance of the hotel.
• "Wireless internet available in all rooms" means that you have to pay $10/day to use the internet.

“The location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is plenty to do within walking distance of the hotel. Every Saturday there is a market place in the park with music and food right in front of the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel had prices that were a little high for the food, and my waitress wasn't very good. Internet costs $10/day. With so many hotels offering free internet, I don't understand why this one charges so much for it.”

• Public areas need updating, but are clean.

“Great beds and the maid service was very efficient and thorough. A great value for our visit to FSU. We could walk to our events in the music department. The check-in desk was the most helpful and cheerful that we have experienced in the past year.”

• Additional "tack ons". Had to pay to park, wireless internet not free.

“This hotel is great, but if looking for a real bargain, I wouldn't go here again. You have to pay to park, wireless internet isn't free, room not cleaned by 1 pm even though we left at 7am that morning. Staff stated they didn't know we were staying an additional night. Staff is friendly, facilities very clean and updated.”

“The staff told me twice over the phone that the parking garage would be provided free of charge if I but asked. It turned out that upon arrival we had to pay for everyday our vehicle was in the garage. I felt misled.”

• Great location. Large rooms. Comfortable bed. Hi-speed internet available in room.
• Hallways were noisy; people slamming doors while sleeping.

“Great location in Downtown Tallahassee. Walking distance to FSU campus and state Capitol. Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Neutrogena products in room. Great shower. Comfortable large rooms with nice beds. Hi-speed internet access in rooms avail. Limited cable TV in room. Hallways can be noisy from other guests (we were on the 12th floor).”

“Great location to downtown and FSU. Room was clean and comfortable. On the upper end for a 3 star hotel. Hallways and public areas could use some updating. The room key was a pain to use and the elevators were very slow as some were out of service for renovation. All in all a pleasant stay.”

“Pity, we can't have good things to say about Doubletree, our 2 night stay was a disaster and have to wonder how they stay in business. Water from condensation running down the walls of the room. Zero ventilation in the bathroom. Sometimes hot water sometimes not. Temperature outside 87 degrees and so cold in the restaurant we wore overcoats and eventually walked out half frozen and dined at a near by deli, complaints fell on deaf ears. To make matters worse we were double charged to our credit card for the 2 night stay and after 15 days still can't get a reply or refund from management, we have been forced to apply to Visa to have the second transaction of $255.30 cancelled. Doubletree is a disgrace to your city and it's a shame good business people in Tallahassee are subjected to the un-professional, ignorant beings that pass them selves as hotel Managers. We will come back to Tallahassee but defiantly not to Doubletree.”

• Very clean and comfortable, nice people, good service.
• No free internet in the room, brunch not that good and extra expensive, $6/day charge for parking.

“Very nice facilities. If you want internet in your room there's about $10 extra/day. Restaurant charges for breakfast/brunch - was exorbitant as in a 5 star New York hotel (plus they charged coffee and juice extra!). Overall, the hotel is great; just stay away from other charges.”

• Location to State Capitol was very convenient. Everyone was very friendly.
• No fan in the bathroom. Old Lady-smelling perfumed air freshener throughout the hotel!

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, but I did not care for the perfumed air-freshener used throughout my floor, too strong. The location to the Florida Capitol building was outstanding. Also would be a great place to stay for an FSU activity. The beds were wonderfully comfortable.”

• The service was excellent and everyone was very pleasant and accommodating.
• The elevators were under construction --need I say more.

“Great location for FSU families or visitors to the Capital. With in walking distance of several nice neighborhood restaurants. Pool was fantastic and rooms were outstanding! Our family had a great experience and would consider staying here again.”

• Nice room. Liked the fitness center too.
• Only two elevators available for hotel service staff and guests.

“This is a nice hotel overall. The biggest problem was the elevators. One of the three was not working, and the service elevators were also being worked on. This left two elevators for the hotel service staff and guests in a 14-story building and made waiting time for an elevator quite long. The swimming pool on top of the parking garage looked very nice, but we did not have an opportunity to use it. The fitness center was small but fairly-well furnished. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and it was about what you would expect -- good food moderately priced.”

• The facilities were quite nice and conveniently located.
• The lack of a portable crib, after being promised one on the phone, was disappointing. Staff unhelpful.

“If you are a business traveler, with low expectations for customer service (you care only about the quality & cleanliness of the room and a good location), this is a good choice. If, however, you are a leisure traveler with your young children, and you expect a responsive, courteous staff, pass this one by. The customer service was appalling. My experience was that the staff (exclusively in their twenties, in my experience) was, with one exception, incompetent, lacking in information, forgetful, and dismissive. I cannot say that I would recommend this hotel, despite the nice rooms, very comfortable beds, and great location. The pool was completely adequate, but not up to the standard of the rooms. Definitely not a 3 star pool.”

“First let me say I did not stay at this hotel! I arrived after midnight; they said there was a problem with my room (meaning there weren't any left!) So they transferred me to Residence Inn by Marriott. The residence inn was very nice and not too far from Doubletree.”

• The fitness center was closed and I was not informed at check in.

“Overall, this is a nice hotel. They were doing some work on the elevators and the fitness room. So, getting to your room was slow and you had to go across the street if you wanted to have a workout. However, it's in a great location and has a restaurant on-site for folks who don't want to go off-site to eat.”

• This hotel was close to FSU and within walking distance to restaurants.
• We never did receive the free cookies. We were given a coupon for a free tin, but never did receive it. They were always out.

• They provided computer/email access in a room off the lobby. Excellent!
• They charged double for a movie, however, they corrected it right away, no questions asked.

“Of the 3 hotels we stayed at, Sheraton, doubletree, and Marriott, doubletree was definitely the best. even though there were extra charges on the bill for a movie we had not seen, they were quick to take it off without any question. Also there's a great little restaurant within walking distance which had an outdoor cafe and lots of college kids and business people (local) eat at. great beer. great food. Great atmosphere. The stay at doubletree was great.”
