• The view from our room was incredible. We could see downtown Atlanta from one window, and in the other direction we could see Stone Mountain.
• We were not initially provided with the requested room or beds. Only after a complaint from a 3rd party was the problem resolved.

“The hotel location is wonderful and parking is very convenient even when self parking. The facility was very attractive and clean. Views from the 22nd floor were unsurpassed. It was a great weekend to be at that location considering the largest firework display in the South-East was less than a block from our hotel. One negative would be that the majority of the staff did not speak English. This made it very difficult to communicate specific needs, as well we were once directed to the nearest restroom on the second floor when there was one across the lobby which we happen to notice on the way to the elevator! I was not pleased with the handling of our requests for room location and beds. I was told several different stories, and finally provided with excellent accommodations only after a 3rd party complaint by a friend who is a regular with Marriott, and only after he practically demanded they accommodate our requests as they had initially committed to doing.”

• client to restaurants, nice amenities, pleasant staff.
• Only negative $28/day for parking, ridiculously high.

“The hotel is nice. Each staff member we can in contact with was very pleasant. We used room service three times and were always pleased. Our only complaint is that parking was $28/day. I expected it to be high, but not that high. The hotel attaches to Lenox Mall, making dining and shopping ultra-convenient. We also walked to other shopping and dining in the area even though we had a car.”

• Snack/canteen like shop was too expensive. Water cost $6.50.

• The bed was great.
• Did not have hot water, the front desk was not very polite?

“The hot water was not working, 3 different engineers came up and supposedly fixed it, it will work at the time and then later, no hot water again. You would have to sit there for almost 20 minutes to get warm water.”

• Had to enter via Mall entrance.

“Very friendly staff. Nice room and very clean. The bathroom was all marble and had a separate shower and tub. In addition the shuttle, a Lincoln Navigator, took us to and from our dinner location. Nice touch!”

• The staff was all wonderful and very friendly. Very clean and appears to be recently updated.
• The motor lobby was not right off the street. Once found, it was okay.

“A wonderful hotel that was very comfortable and well appointed with more amenities than we were able to use in our short weekend. It would be nice if the motor lobby were more accessible; however the street level is too high to make this feasible. So you have to watch for signs to get there if you're arriving by car. A big plus is that you can access Lenox Square Mall by foot through a covered walkway from the hotel lobby. Marta has a rail station nearby and bus stops are all over the place if needed. Very good shopping and dining in the area. There are a couple of bargain places but Buckhead is one of the wealthiest areas in Georgia.”

• The pool was nice, the hotel was in a good area and most of the staff was very helpful.
• Parking was not free, and there was one really cranky old concierge that was very rude but the next day the concierge was very helpful.

“Liked the hotel it was a nice place in a great location. Walked to Downtown bulkhead for dinner and took the Marta to Downtown Atlanta for braves game and the aquarium. We parked in the long term secure parking for the Marta which was only $4 a day and two blocks from the hotel.”

“This is the perfect hotel if you are traveling for business or pleasure. I was going to the Atlanta Mart and at the last minute I had to bring my 5 year old daughter. The hotel was totally kid friendly to my delight! I loved it and have already told anyone and everyone about it!”

• Layout of room was great as well as the bed being extremely comfortable.
• We tried to get late snack in hotel lounge and service was extremely slow.

• Had old tube style TV.

“Very good 4 star hotel. All was very clean and modern/classic style. Beds were very good. Room was more of a classic design. Big room. Bathroom was nice slightly dated with a heat lamp device that was disconnected. Very clean throughout. Lobby was small and very nice. Tube TV in bedroom. Excellent example of a 4 star hotel. Would stay there again and recommend to anyone.”

• The hotel beds were comfortable, the air quality, and general cleanliness made for a restful stay.
• Rooms too small; I've stayed at other Marriott's that I have found aesthetically more appealing, i.e., overall more comfort and satisfaction.

“I had high expectations for a flagship Marriott. Although the food in the bar area was appetizing, I found the general size and decor of the rooms ordinary.”

• We paid for parking at the hotel but could never get out keycard to operate.

• Staff were extremely attentive and were courteous beyond measure.
• Price of valet parking for less than 24 hours.

“The view on the Atlanta skyline side is lovely. The hotel itself is situated conveniently to Lenox Square Mall, if you are interested in shopping. The bedding is deluxe; the room has all business appointments and a well stocked mini bar. The marble baths are outfitted with soft rain-like shower fixtures. Staff have a very positive attitude and provide service beyond what is expected.”

• The bellman was wonderful and courteous; the parking lot attendant very helpful.
• Signage and visibility was poor; we drove past it twice (at night) and had to call for help.

“Except for the poor signage and trouble finding the hotel (we called from a parking lot across the street but still could not see the hotel), the hotel exceeded my expectations. Very high level of service and attention to detail; staff went out of his way to help us; get settled after a very long day's drive.”

• Location is great, beautiful lobby and views spectacular.
• Bathroom was outdated and dimly lit, rooms smaller than most 4 star, Valet 26.00.

“The hotel was big in its heyday and has been remodeled. Bathrooms were a disappointment. Parking is a problem and must do Valet, so add another 26.00 to your bill. Staff was super friendly. Would recommend although I like the Hyatt in Buckhead a lot better. Get a room on one of the top floors for an incredible view.”

“Each time I entered or exited a doorman was most attentive. All staff was welcoming. I received a room on the top floor and could take advantage of free hors d'oeuvres, breakfast, and nightly sweets. This was an amazing place to rewind and rest.”

“From the beginning, the staff was not helpful in directing my party towards parking. Poor service continued from there. We stayed up late talking and security came to our room and was very rude both nights at 1:30 AM due to "noise complaints," however when we saw our neighbor the next day he only heard the conversation in the hall with security, not talking in the room. We brought our own DVD player for entertainment only to find that there were unreasonable limitations on the TV in that we could not connect external devices to the TV and hence were limited to the pay per view in the room. Overall poor service and snobby staff members. I have no intention of ever staying here again.”

• Hotel in great locale; easy for shopping and using Marta. Very clean, staff friendly, helpful. Great food.
• I can stay at the local Motel 6 and get free high-speed internet but have to pay for it at upscale hotel?

“This hotel is very family friendly and leisure travel friendly. Is connected to classy mall and Marta is directly across the street. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and would definitely stay there again.”

• Decor was a little brash, tacky. Parking a rip-off for location.

Take-out type coffee & breakfast place was a good alternative and value for fancy hotel. Charged $17 for self-park despite being in the middle of acres of empty parking- very annoying.”

• A 4 star hotel should be more updated than this.

“Nice hotel, with a strange layout for a room. The shape of the room was a triangle. The front desk told us we were getting a corner room which was bigger than a normal room. I would hate to see a normal room then. The room also had an older TV. We stayed at another Marriott property that was a star level down from this JW Marriott but that room had a HD Flat screen TV and this 4 star hotel did not for more money. Does not make sense.”

• Very difficult to get to due to road system in buckhead.

“The hotel was on par with the Ritz Carlton or four seasons. It was very clean, chic, modern, and the rooms were tastefully decorated. Amenities were great, and the staff was more than helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Very comfortable bed. Pleasant and helpful staff. Adjacent to a nice mall & food court.
• Expensive parking. Not much else bad to say.

“I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel. It was very upscale and comfortable at the same time. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay there. One of the only drawbacks to staying in Buckhead is that it can be kind of a hassle getting to Downtown Atlanta. But I'd say it's worth it.”
