“The staff was extremely helpful and accommodations were great.” Nov 18, 2009 by
Gerry from Bainbridge Island,WA
“Would never stay in a W again, no one in this hotel has any idea what hospitality means, we had to ask several times for the toilet to be fixed, they would clean the room and not replace the towels, removed the robes from the room, we had to call 3 times to get glasses, the list goes on and on.” Sep 28, 2009 by
Jody from Salem,IL
“We really enjoyed out two nights at this hotel. The room was very attractively and creatively decorated. We enjoyed the artwork, the color scheme and the comfortable furnishings. My only complaint was that the comforter was too heavy to be comfortable and there was no other blanket/quilt to cover-up with. I also felt the room air conditioning blew in my face all night. The breakfast we had in the Market restaurant was very healthy and well prepared.” Jun 14, 2009 by
Valerie from San Francisco,CA
“Incompetent staff. Small rooms. Constant branding and advertising of W is tedious. Tiny pool. Fitness room not well-equipped. Pocket door in Fitness Room Toilet would not lock! Room not cleaned for two days. Constant trips down to desk. Minibar refrigerator not plugged in on arrival. No coffee maker in room. Nickel and dimed everywhere. Not a 4 star hotel experience.” May 23, 2009 by
Michael from Weston,FL
“I recently stayed at the W property. I'm pretty sure the Hotel's concept is to attract the young hip/cool professional crowd. I was staying there on business. Although, I appreciate the night club atmosphere, I wouldn't say it is the best place for a business traveler. The room was just OK. I wouldn't say it was anywhere nearly as luxurious as other properties I've stayed at in Buckhead like the Grand Hyatt or the JW Marriott. I especially didn't like the fact that the curtains on the windows are crepe in design and don't completely block out the light. To me that is standard at any property I would say that. The primary purpose for a hotel is to have a room you can sleep in. If you are just there for a party and are looking for a place you could crash at, I would recommend the W. If you are looking for a luxury 4 star property, I recommend the Grandy Hyatt or the JW Marriott.” Mar 11, 2009 by
Lauren from Columbus,GA
“I took my boyfriend to the W in Buckhead for his birthday. After having a little difficulty finding the hotel in traffic, we finally found it, and the experience began. A very nice valet greeted us and helped us with our bags, the front desk person was incredibly friendly and gave us ideas for dinner that night. The room was gorgeous and comfortable, though probably not the best for travelers with children. The rooftop bar was romantic and very trendy, with great views of the city.” Feb 3, 2008 by
Jonathan from N Miami, FL
“Great location, lacking in help and poor resolution skills. Wireless internet horrible on lower floors.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Shannon from Jeffersonville, IN
“This hotel was a true treasure. The staff was absolutely outstanding and accommodating of all requests. Could not have asked for friendlier staff. Room was outstanding. Carpet was a little worn, but the rest of the room made up for that. Parking charges were high, but that is to be expecting in Downtown Atlanta. The hotel is situated in a wonderful neighborhood surrounded by high end malls and restaurants. Everything you need within walking distance.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Helen from Goodlettsville, TN
“I loved staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, as it was the best of both worlds the most luxuriously comfortable and friendly it could possibly be, and in a price range that wasn't out of reach for me as a traveler.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Joanne from Carrollton, TX
“This hotel has got run down, it is very dirty, the carpet in the room is filthy, and you would never walk barefoot in the room. The chair and ottoman in the room are stained and dirty. Coffee in the room half the time only had 3 hangers, not well.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Bryan from Bethesda, MD
“When checking in at 2:30, was told that check in was at 4pm (the latest of any hotel I've stayed at in recent memory), and the only room that was ready was a smoking double (I found difficult to believe). When I arrived in my room, it was saturated with tobacco stench; the mattresses (both) sagged in the middle like hammocks. Upside was free WiFi and decent gym (although treadmills were of an inferior build and brand). Another downside was excessive parking fees of $18 for self park; it stung a bit more when I opened up the windows and looked out at the enormous empty parking lot for Neiman's next door. Good location in the middle of Buckhead.” Jan 26, 2008 by
Tamika from Montgomery, AL
“This hotel was very upscale and in the heart of Atlanta, so it was in walking distance of shopping, touring, and nightlife.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 24, 2008 by

“This hotel is a great place to stay if you are in town for the weekend and looking to entertain yourself in the buck head area. It is very convenient to all that is happening.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Laura from Charleston, IL
“I've stayed in Crowne Plazas numerous times before and have always been very satisfied. This particular hotel, however, was not as sufficient as I had expected. The internet (which had been advertised as high-speed), was intensely slow, and when I called the front desk to inquire about it, they said there was nothing they could do. Additionally, there were no mattress covers/mattress pads on the bed, and the sheets were not deep pocketed, so the bottom 2/3 of the mattress was exposed at all times. You should never see the mattress at a quality hotel. I was disappointed that more time had not been taken with the linens.” Jan 18, 2008 by
Maria from Haslett, MI
“Taking into consideration the rate, I would highly recommend your hotel. It is comforting to have friendly, helpful customer service when traveling. All the necessary needs of a business traveler were met.” Jan 18, 2008 by
Carolyn L. from Milw, WI
“I am not paying for the stay.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Robert from Morristown, NJ
“Great location, relatively quiet, clean and well appointed rooms, friendly staff.” Dec 21, 2007 by
Tony from Glenview, IL
“This hotel will be going under and re model in early Jan 08 and the staff seems like they don't want to work there anymore.” Dec 17, 2007 by
William from Anderson, SC
“Great location close to Marta and shopping-clean and comfortable.” Dec 13, 2007 by
John from Matthews, NC
“Very nice hotel in Buckhead conveniently located within walking distance of Lenox Mall, several good restaurants and a Marta station. Room was nicely furnished, clean, and comfortable.” Dec 13, 2007 by
Bryan from Sharpsburg, GA
“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone it the carpet was stained and pulling away from the walls. There was trash and food left in the halls from 9am to 9pm. The staff overall was ok but several members were very rude and offensive.” Dec 8, 2007 by
Mike from Greensboro, NC
“In addition, they charge $18/day (same as valet) for self park. They don't even have covered parking and the parking lot is not user friendly (i.e. you have to wait for a worker see you to gain access both in and out). Our room had an odor; my wife hurt her foot from stepping on a carpet tack strip which was exposed next to the bathroom threshold because the carpet had deteriorated so bad; the carpet was stained and dirty looking; the wallpaper was pealing up at the edges.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Daniela from Vancouver, BC CA
“I was unpleasantly surprised with this hotel. I thought I was staying at a 4 star hotel but it seemed like I got the 1 star room. The cleanliness was not what I expected. Sure, it was clean (surface) but the carpets were stained, I saw a very small bug on the wall (which for Atlanta (south) is not s real surprise), and the furniture was very old and weathered. The cleaning staff did not come on the second day; I had to call for towels. When someone came up, she could not speak a lick of English, not even the basic words like "towels", "garbage", or "clean". As well, on the Friday morning, there must have been an unveiling of one of their renovated rooms because there were many people (marketing crew, executives, etc.) congregated outside my room and 2 doors down at 8:00 am looking, taking pictures, talking loudly, and planning for the future phases (yes, I could everything).” Oct 19, 2007 by
Curtis from Quincy, IL
“Maid service was very poor, hotel needs new carpet.” Sep 24, 2007 by
David from Atlanta, GA
“The rooms and bathrooms were dirty, ran down, smelled like smoke, and needs a major facelift. The bed linens were old and worn and smelled like smoke.” Sep 19, 2007 by
Aliesa from Albany, GA
“I loved it. Would stay here again. We had a hard time getting housekeeping to bring extra blankets, but other than that our stay was great!” Sep 7, 2007 by
Mr. M. from Kennesaw, GA
“Hotel is great as long as you are using public transportation.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Tania from Thomasvilleq, NC
“Excellent stay! Quiet atmosphere and helpful and friendly staff. Located in the heart of Buckhead!” Sep 6, 2007 by
Eddie from Cincinnati, OH
“Nice hotel and great location. Friendly service. Internet was down and parking prices are ridiculous. I would stay here again.” Jul 27, 2007 by
Roxanne from Charlotte, NC
“The hotel was not all that I expected but it was nice and the staff was very friendly.” Jul 26, 2007 by
Anthony from Conway, AR
“I called the hotel to make sure I could get a room with two beds right after I made the reservation. When I arrived at the hotel for the stay they told me there weren't any rooms with two beds. The problems continued from there for the entire stay. Basically, the hotel has a lot of miscommunication problems among its staff. Nobody knows what anybody else has done. This could be a nice hotel, but until the management can train the staff well enough to be able to take care of its guests then it will never reach its potential and I would not recommend this hotel because of that.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Kelley from Simpsonville, SC
“Nice hotel. Room was a bit on the small size. Must pay $18 for overnight parking. Staff on the whole was nice.” Jul 18, 2007 by
Ricardo from Augusta, GA
“I will never stay in these hotel again. My room was not ready at check-in. The hallway smelled badly because of leftover room service and trash was left in the hall. I was nervous on the elevator because it squeaked heavily and made abrupt stops. I had to order two different remotes to work on the TV. After going out one night I had to wait on valet to open the gate because nobody was at the post or at the front desk. When I checked out nobody even asked me how did I enjoy my stay. Lastly when my roommate realize that he left his debit card at the lounge downstairs I called the hotel and they kept trying to send me to a voicemail of a manager. When I hung up and called back nobody answered the phone. Then when I called back again the receptionist had an attitude because I kept calling asking about the debit card. The only good thing about this stay was its location and free wireless internet.” Jul 17, 2007 by
Jason from Cumming, GA
“We arrived at approximately 5:30 pm. Our Bellman was great. We walked into our room and soon realized that the bed only had small pillows. We immediately called the front desk to request new ones. We left for dinner and hour later and hoped to catch the courtesy shuttle. After waiting for about 20 minutes, a minivan pulls up and quickly filled with other guests. We decided to get a cab. We also called and requested a cab for our return from the restaurant. We were told it would be 30 minutes. We were 3 miles from the hotel. We again decided to cab it. Upon our return, we realized that no pillows had been brought to our room. I called the front desk again and was told that we would have them shortly. We again left the room for a few hours via cab and returned at approximately 1 am to discover, no pillows. I went to the front desk and complained and was told that we would have them shortly. We were then called in our room and informed that there were no extra pillows available. In addition, we were next to a building under construction which had lights on in all of its exposed windows all evening long. The curtains would not close and I had to pin the curtains up and use towels to try to block out the light. Overall, a bad experience.” Jun 14, 2007 by
Steve from Clover, SC
“Bathroom floor was sticky. Maids said they were out of soap. Furnishings were old. Valets had to push a button to let us in and out of self-parking, a hassle at $18/night. Staff was friendly and location was great.” Apr 21, 2007 by
Brian from Canton, MA

“I thought the hotel was okay. My room was clean but the carpet was getting worn, a little dingy and needed to be replaced. The room did not have a minibus and no bottled water. This was disappointing as I was expecting to at least have a bottle of water i” Feb 21, 2007 by
Carlos from Memphis, TN
“Overall, I had a good experience at the hotel and I would not have a problem staying there again. I agree with the 3 star rating. I have stayed at one of your other 3 star hotels in this area, the doubletree in bulkhead. I prefer the doubletree. The crown plaza - bulkhead Atlanta was overall clean and the staff was very nice. The location is great for those who want to dine and shop in Atlanta. negatives of my hotel experience were that our standard guest room was somewhat small, some of the furniture and decor in the room was dated, the lounge chair in our room had debris on it and needed cleaning, and housekeeping did not put the proper number of towels in my room the second night and the housekeeper did not give us additional towels even after I asked her to do so.” Feb 21, 2007 by
Mark from Hoover, AL
“Valet was very timely and I didn't have to wait at all. Very friendly guys. People were "making out" in my hallway (very loudly) as well as running up and down the hall, banging room doors, singing, screaming - all from 1:00 am until 4:30 am. I called the front desk and she snapped at me and said she would call security. They came, the ruckus stopped, security left, the ruckus began again. The next morning, I told the front desk clerk (because of their "hospitatlity promise") and he said since it was another guest causing the problems, there was nothing they could do. Very bad customer service. I've been in retail management for 17 years and have never experienced something like this. The worst hotel experience ever.” Feb 14, 2007 by
roderick from andalusia, al
“The hotel was very clean; staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent! There was centrally located near all my business meetings.” Jan 31, 2007 by
Bill from Denver, CO
“Valet service was the best we have seen, very quick and courteous. Bell men took care to get our bags to us quickly and to help us many times with directions. Hotel was removed from the street some distance, very clean and quite stylish.” Jan 20, 2007 by
Maury from Philadelphia, PA
“This was the best hotel stay I can remember in Atlanta. I have been coming for ten years to the show in January and July, and the stay here was easily the best. Ice machines and luxury feel. But the best thing is the incredibly friendly and helpful staff.” Jan 6, 2007 by
Carey from Coral Gables, FL
“Hotel met our expectations. It was clean, updated and centrally located. I would enjoy staying at the crowned plaza again with my family.” Dec 12, 2006 by
George from Jacksonville, FL
“Staff was discourteous and unapologetic about our room not being ready. When a room was ready it was not what we had reserved and we were forced to wait again. We wound up waiting several hours.” Oct 26, 2006 by
Carolyn from Dallas, TX
“Convenient to MARTA, many restaurants and 2 shopping centers. Bed very comfortable. Easy to maintain room temperature.” Oct 25, 2006 by
Tim from Centreville, VA
“It was fine. Great room. The club downstairs wasn't open much, but they had a loud DJ playing club music. The facilities (namely the exercise room) were not good. One treadmill slips and the machines are fairly randomly selected. There was a nice lounge for folks on the upper two floors but I did not see it open during my stay. I was there for the weekend and just needed a room. For that it was great!” Apr 29, 2006 by
Jennifer from Washington, DC
“All in all, this is a lovely hotel. However, our dining experience at the Milan restaurant was a disappointment. The waitress was terrible (didn't take our orders, didn't check on us, messed up the tab...). Also, it is outrageous to charge $18/day for parking. Aside from those two negatives, I did really enjoy my stay. I loved the heavy blankets, and I slept like a log.” Apr 6, 2006 by
Maureen from Mount Pleasant, SC
“The hotel was very nice. The rooms comfortable. They had a limited area courtesy van. They were unable to meet my request for 2 double beds instead of a king. They were rude when I enquired about it. They were unhelpful about my request for a roll away bed and I had to make 3 requests for this. One day they left us without towels. I felt like a second class citizen, but I got a very nice hotel at a cheap price.” Apr 5, 2006 by
Joe from Lancaster, NY
“Very nice, Clean Comfortable beds. Nice patio Restaurant.” Jan 11, 2006 by
Bob from Macon, GA
“Hotel has excellent location, clean and quiet. The parking charge however was outrageous. Across the street is the Doubletree another hotel we have stayed. Parking there is $8. The Crown needs to add its exorbitant parking charges on line.”
