“Nice older hotel (built in 1911) with lots of history, located right across the street (Peachtree St) from the Fox Theater. Common areas inside and exterior are lovely, however room was a bit dated and in need of some minor upgrades. Our room only had one full sized bed which was too springy and cramped for 2 people to sleep well. We were on the 14th floor but still heard lots of street noise (honking, people shouting, and sirens) during the night, especially Saturday. Nice view of city from window and even better view from rooftop common area (also where a very nice pool was located) and top floor gym (very nice equipment). Lots of boutiques and eateries (moderate to fairly expensive) within walking distance.” Aug 11, 2008 by
India from Bainbridge, GA
“OK but room was not that great.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Shawn from Atlanta, GA
“NA.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Lewis from Dallas, TX
“The hotel is nice but we had trouble 3 of the 5 days getting towels. The maid would never leave face towels then it would take all day for them to bring some up. The parking is $22 per day min and if you go in and out a few times it will be way more. $8 per in and out. If I would have known I would have to come out of another $25 per night on parking I would have just gone to a 4 star hotel.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Ronald from Warner Robins, GA
“The staff was pleasant and friendly but we had to interrupt workmen and work through construction materials to get into our room. The room was spacious and very romantic, but the water was Luke warm and the free internet service was nonfunctional. I am grateful that we were tired and can sleep through almost anything because the workmen were making noise into the wee hours of the night. On top of that the parking cost us an additional twenty two fifty.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Danielle. from Bay Minette, AL
“The restored historic Georgian Terrace hotel in downtown Atlanta is the absolute best! The ambiance is exquisite and the ability to dine on the porch directly across from the front entrance to the Fox Theater is splendid. The only hotel I will ever stay at again when visiting Atlanta!” Jul 24, 2008 by
Cherie from Union City, CA
“All of the staff was exceptional, welcoming, and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Historic, comfortable hotel with elegance that is often missing today.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Kryslte from Greensboro, NC
“I loved the look and feel of the hotel. Parking was horrible though way over priced. $25 plus and additional hourly rate. I also did not like the maid service. Never had enough towels and cloths for two people, each night had to call for one or the other. But giving all aspects I would stay there again.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Kale from Coeur Dalene, ID
“I would definitely stay there again. Close to MARTA, good restaurants and entertainment. The area is safe but there are some annoying street folks that are more than eager to help you (for tips) but this was no worse than being in a resort area and having time share pitches. Never felt threatened.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Jaime from Seattle, WA
“I've stayed at this hotel at least a half dozen times and have always a large efficiency type room. I barely had room to iron my clothes - I had to move furniture to squeeze in an ironing board. That room was a total disappointment. I asked for a king and the front desk clerk told me no even though one was available. Very disappointing. It's too bad too, all of my other experiences here were ok, not this time. They also need to update the rooms. It's ok to have a historic hotel, but upgrade the rooms and amenities.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Donna from Virginia Beach, VA
“I was so happy and please when I arrived at the hotel. I was not expecting such a nice, spacious room and the hotel staff was so accommodating.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Steve from Chicago, IL
“This hotel's location is prime, but this is about all it has to offer. The bathroom in our room was dirty. Hair in the bathtub, floors and vanity were not cleaned. Even though they said housekeeping had cleaned the room. They had to send an engineer to our room 4 times because the AC was not working. The only apology we received was that they are currently being bought out and remodeling in the future was planned. So what? That didn't help us! The worse thing about this hotel is that there were no ice machines/vending machines! If you needed something to drink, you must leave the hotel and go to the store. This was most inconvenient.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Karen from Nashville, TN
“This hotel was very clean and beautiful. The room however did not meet my expectation for an upscale hotel. I had no refrigerator or microwave. The bed was a mere full size bed.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Bil from Nashville, TN
“Great staff - room was very acceptable and clean.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Sheba from Nyc, NY
“I did not have a 3 star stay at The Georgian Terrace Hotel. I did not feel like I was welcome.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Barbara from Kileen, TX
“I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel. It is rated as upscale, perhaps 20 yrs ago, but now it is outdated. The rooms smelled molded and old. The carpet was dirty, my socks were black from walking on dirty carpet. The clerk who checked us in was rude and not helpful and non caring. I have stayed at many hotels and this was a 1st for me. Over all satisfaction, not good. The bed was comfortable, that would have to be the only positive experience I had.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Debra from Brevard, NC
“The Georgian Terrace is a beautiful old hotel in midtown Atlanta. The staff is super friendly. The room was a bit small, the sheets were clean, but stained. Definitely time for renovations. Carpets stained in hallways, tub had been refinished, but was peeling. Wallpaper peeling in spots in bathroom.” Jun 28, 2008 by
June from Powderhorn, CO
“The hotel was wonderful. My specific complaints: mold in shower; only metal mini blinds for windows and these had taken abuse; no desk; air conditioner was governed, although I lowered the thermostat as much as possible there was no difference in temp of room; due to lack of curtains I was unable to keep heat out of room; for an upscale hotel, I thought it unusual they would blast rap music in the middle of the day; walls were bare of any art/prints etc. very sterile and monochrome;.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Victor from Nashville, TN
“This hotel is a piece of history combined with the convenience of being Downtown. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a great work-out room on the top floor and a pool on the roof.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Johan from Ocal, FL
“When we saw our room and the size of the bed we realised that we will never be able to sleep as 2 persons on the bed. I called the Lobby and asked for a bigger room or a room with a Queen bed, this was the responce- You booked a standard room and that is what you get. They refused to give us another room although I knew they could have done it. Needles to say we never slept that night.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Michael from Santa Fe Springs, CA
“I would definitely stay at this hotel again.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Holli from Ledbetter, KY
“This hotel was on the registry for historic places. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel lobby was beautiful. The large pool on the roof was very nice and clean. The room we had was apartment sized with washer and dryer to use for free and a regular sized refrigerator and stove. Great hotel would recommend to anyone.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Lashonda G. from Augusta, GA
“When I'd arrived I wished that I'd brought my husband. This hotel was gorgeous and extremely romantic. It was within walking distance of some nice local cuisines. The hotel staff was very accommodating.” May 18, 2008 by
Sandra from North Kingstown, RI
“The exterior and interior are lovely. Our room was small with a double bed (they called it a California queen). Stained carpeting, a stained sink counter, broken blinds, and there was no bedspread.” May 10, 2008 by
Paul from Stockbridge, GA
“When you first enter the hotel you are pleased with the decor and surroundings. However, if there are a few people in front of you checking in, don't be surprised if you have to wait a while. The staff was quite slow and didn't really appear to be concerned about the long line of patrons who were waiting to check in. The rooms are fairly nice and the beds comfortable, if you like the memory foam mattresses. There is a nice porch at the restaurant that overlooks Peachtree Street right across from the Fox Theater. My overall experience was nice, but it could have been better. In addition, they forget to tell you that it costs $25.00 per day to park in the garage.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Eileen from Avondale, PA
“Good location, charming.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Darrell from Charlotte, NC
“The hotel is in a great location and is beautifully decorated. I did feel like it was stuffy and pretentious.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Mary from Tallahassee, FL
“Very good place to stay to attend an event at the Fox Theater. Parking is too expensive and cumbersome.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Jaime from Seattle, WA
“The rooms are spacious and well kept. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The location is one of the best in Atlanta. However, the rooms need updating. The TV looks to be 20 years old and does not provide for an enjoyable night in.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Barry from Winston Salem, NC
“Good location, Great facility, okays staff.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Jimmy from Tyler, TX
“Was very nice stay close to all the attraction big and roomy.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Fred from Chesterfield, VA
“Very nice. Close to everything you would want to do. Nice staff.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Mike from Chattanooga, TN
“The room I received was very mediocre, and it was extremely loud throughout the night. Bed was a twin bed, which was uncomfortable for my wife and me. Location. Just request a room away from the street noise.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Frances from Rocklin, CA
“The hotel is situated 1.5 blocks from Marta so the location was ideal for us. Beware on weekends when there are shows across the street at Fox Theatre, you tend to get the theatre crowd, so if you're looking for a romantic quiet hotel. This is NOT the place.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Loretta from Atlanta, GA
“I enjoyed the hotel and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this hotel, just be aware that the rooms are older and need to be updated. Otherwise, I sincerely enjoyed my experience at the hotel.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Sarah from Cincinnati, OH
“The hotel is beautiful and the staff Friendly. A few complaints: There was no plug for the tub (A common problem in almost every hotel I stay at.) There was a broken cabinet in the kitchen. I was not aware I would have to pay $25 to park my car. They had a Tempurpedic mattress, which I thought would be a nice extravagance in comfort, but instead turned out to retain heat and it was very hot to sleep. The room was not soundproof and the noise from the city streets was annoying to those not used to sleeping with cars honking outside the window. Despite these small complaints the hotel was very nice if you are used to sleeping in a city upscale hotel.” Mar 29, 2008 by
Tammie from Saint Marys, GA
“Great location, great staff, but even the one room suites are designed for a single traveler. The room offered everything traveler needs, but things like tables by chairs without lamps and Ethernet jacks behind beds make accessing them a bit inconvenient. The hotel was spotless and the staff passed helpful, we were treated as guests in their home.” Mar 24, 2008 by
Rhonda from Arlington, TN
“This hotel offered history, convenience, safety, and comfort. We really enjoyed the hotel experience.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Norman from Fayetteville, GA
“Nice facilities. Excellent location with access to a number of attractions in Atlanta. This is a historic grand hotel that has been well-maintained.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Bill from New York, NY
“This is a great location and a terrific price. The hotel's architecture is amazing! And the staff knows what true southern hospitality means. Thank You!” Mar 12, 2008 by
Chad from Milwaukee, WI
“Couldn't ask for a better location on Peachtree in Midtown Atlanta. The hotel has been recognized for its historic nature, but has modern furnishings. The lobby was beautifully done, the roof top pool was a great touch along with the exercise facility. Staff was very good, valet service fairly pricey at $25 a night. The only thing that could have been improved was the room. It was well decorated and newly furnished. I had a very small room (12x12 maybe) that had a full size bed, two side tables, a floor lamp, chair and ottoman, another small table and armoire crammed in it.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Rhiannon from Orlando, FL
“The Georgian Terrace is a beautiful hotel with a rich history in the perfect location on Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta. The food in the Savoy, the hotel restaurant, was excellent but the service could be stepped up. We were disappointed by the dirty coffee pot, with the old filter, a door that required a maintenance man and vending machines that were either empty or that took our money. The bed was overly bouncy, too. Those few things tainted an otherwise lovely experience. The bell captain was happy to hold our bags for us after we checked out. We arrived early and the staff allowed us to check in several hours early at no additional cost. The view was great for the cost. The gym was outstanding and had it been warmer we would have swam in the roof-top pool. The lobby was gorgeous and the location fantastic.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Samuel from Saline, MI
“Hotel did not want to change room even after several complaints and requests. Simply unacceptable.” Mar 4, 2008 by
Scott from Midland, NC
“This is a hotel that should never be rated as 3 star. The rooms are very, very small. Noise from the hall is incredible- you could hear and understand people outside your room. That also means they can hear you! Just a little worn overall. Unless you get a 1 bedroom suite, forget it!” Mar 4, 2008 by
Mary from Rockhill, SC
“My family and I thought the hotel was upscale and accommodating. Lots of space and in the rooms and public areas. We would stay in this hotel again.” Mar 2, 2008 by
Oliver from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
“I feel the room I received would most likely not be rented directly through the hotel ever. The toilets ran all night, remote control was broken, the TV's and furniture were ancient. There was constant noise outside and charter buses idled every morning at 5:30 AM.” Feb 24, 2008 by
Donald from Chicago, IL
“A joke for such a great location. Attentive service and very nice but not high end. Stained carpets and needs a classy makeover.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Dana from Chapel Hill, NC
“The hotel was beautiful. Our room was teeny tiny, not at all what I expected and too small for 2 people - only enough room for one double bed with very little space to move around. It was very cramped; Ive never seen a hotel room this small.” Feb 21, 2008 by
John from Rockville, MD
“They need to spend less money on the upscale lobby and public areas and more money on the rooms. Had too many employees in the lobby, desk, and car park. Many had nothing to do. The room, however, was below expectations. Super 8 has better rooms.” Jan 26, 2008 by
Heather from Weaverville, NC
“Nice hotel, great location. Not a good hotel if you are into hurrying around. It is more of a laid back environment. Room was incredibly small and the fact that it only was available with one bed made for an awkward stay with travel companion.” Hotel Representatives:
