“The location and the feel of the hotel were great. It was definitely a 3 star and I was happy with the price. The staff was not very friendly at the hotel restaurant so that put a bad taste in my mouth. The rooms were very spacious.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Loren from Apopka, FL
“The hotel itself was beautiful, but the room that they put us in was really small, definitely did not meet the expectations of a 3 star hotel. They moved us to a bigger room that was amazing.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Chris from Columbus, OH
“Everything about my stay was a disappointment, except the price. The first room was a tiny corner room. It had no internet. After troubleshooting with the hotel's service provider for an hour, they ultimately concluded it was a hotel issue and to call the hotel engineer. Ultimately I had to change rooms. Second room was a converted closet. No lie. The room next to it was still in use as one! This meant that the next morning there was nonstop door slamming for an early morning wake up call. This room did have internet, it just took a while to find the wire connection conveniently located behind the headboard of the bed. My hope for a relaxing shower were dashed--no hot water. I couldn't even have a soothing cocktail. There were no glasses, just plastic cups (which I didn't think were used by 3-star hotels). Next morning, still no hot water! Complained to front desk and asked if I was doing it correctly! Huge hassles and long delays with the valet as they don't accept calls to bring cars around in advance. Invited a flight attendant friend over to confirm that I wasn't over-reacting. Confirmed that this was not close to a 3-star property. On check-out I informed the disinterested clerk of the cumulative problems with my experience. Was told that that were remodeling--including new mattresses and drapes. None of my rooms were remodeled. This may have been a grand hotel once but they have let it slide into the sloppy category.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Kay from Augusta, GA
“When I pulled up, the parking attendant was rude. They did not attempt to provide any level of customer service. The ceiling in the bathroom was water damaged and looked terrible. It came with a kitchen, but they wanted to charge to get pots, pans or silverware to use. That's like providing a bed and charging for linen! I felt nickel and dime at every turn.” Sep 4, 2008 by
T-Money from Antioch, TN
“Standard room is extremely small. Peachtree is very busy and you can hear any and everything outside from cars to conversations. I asked to be moved was told hotel was at capacity.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Ryan from Cahrlotte, NC
“The Georgian Terrace was a nice historic hotel located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The problem was that we never saw the inside of the room as they were overbooked and sent us to the Wyndham several blocks away. We arrived at The Georgian Terrace early, around 1pm. They informed us that our room was being cleaned, and would not be ready until 3pm. After checking our bags, we walked down the street and had lunch and a few drinks. We walked back to The Georgia Terrace around 3:30 pm, and were shocked to see a line of about 30 disgruntle people. It was obvious that the hotel was overbooked, some people were being turned away. Since we had already checked in, we were not worried about our room. After waiting in line for over an hour (probably close to 2 hrs,) the front desk attendant informs us that they do not have a room for us and suggested the Wyndham down the street. The Wyndham was old, dirty, rundown, and further from Midtown Atl. It had obviously just been taken over by Wyndham since the it was marked with a temporary cloth sign draped over the entrance way. It was awful. We were never compensated for the inconvenience, the parking fees incurred at both hotels, or the downgrade in the room itself.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Christopher from Trussville, AL
“The hotel is beautiful from the outside and lobby, but the room was barely big enough to walk in. The valet service was $25/day and there is no other place to park.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Ellen from Loganville, GA
“This experience was a disaster for such a short trip. There was an hour wait to check in with no explanation as to why. The staff was rude and unfriendly. Apparently, the hotel had been overbooked. I needed 2 beds in my room and this hotel only has one in each room. I could go on and on about how horrible this experience was. I would not stay there again.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Rob from Birmingham, AL
“This is very nice hotel with fine guest rooms, especially the suites. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Douglas R. from Stanley, NC
“Excellent.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Chris from Knoxville, TN
“Overall, it was a very positive stay. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel's look, and the room was adequate (with a great view of Atlanta). I was disappointed that the bed only had two pillows, and called down to room service after the first night to request two more. When I got back that night and they hadn't arrived, I called the front desk and was assured that two more pillows would be brought up. They still never arrived. This was very disappointing, but did not ruin the overall impression of the hotel. I was pleased with my stay.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Kevin from Monroe, GA
“The inside of the hotel was beautiful when you walked in. The room was small, carpet older than me (32yrs). Also parking was minimum of $23.00 a night.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Paul from Milan, TN
“The staff was very polite, courteous, and very informative of the area. The king bed had a memory foam mattress and it slept great! The exercise room is the best I have ever been in and the roof top pool and sun bathing area was awesome!” Aug 20, 2008 by
William from Berry, AL
“The Georgian Terrace Hotel is in a great location, parking is expensive but you can park on the street at no charge. The view from the roof-top pool was unbelievable. Incredible.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Ava from Savannah, GA
“It was in a good location and it was pretty, but the hotel staff didn't speak English and were rude. Also, we understood that breakfast was free (due to poor English on the part of the hotel staff) and then charged us $14 a person. There were no ice machines on any of the floors and I had to walk to the bar and ask for ice when I got thirsty. Also, we were charged $25 a night for parking. I thought that was tacky!” Aug 19, 2008 by
Robbie from Huntsville, AL
“When we arrived I was over whelm with every thing, the valet parking, bell man assistant, check in at the desk. It was the best. My next trip to Atlanta.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Tim from Birmingham, AL
“I was so upset over this hotel I was to stay for two nights and I checked out after the first night and went. I would never stay there again.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Tom from Birmingham, AL
“Older property, elegant public spaces but rooms a little dated. Location good, but lots of panhandlers on sidewalks in this neighborhood.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Robert from Savannah, GA
“The hotel was very nice. The hotel staff was extremely helpful. The room was nice also. Upon check-in the clerk informed us my friend had a standard room with one full bed. This was not suitable for two grown, single men. Thank goodness the clerk was able to accommodate us with a larger room with two beds.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Carolee from Macon, GA
“Wonderful hotel. Great staff. Suites had washer/dryers, walk-in closets, full living room and kitchen separate from bedrooms. Suite was actually bigger than my apartment at home, much more than I expected.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Ronald from Brunswick, GA
“Nice older hotel (built in 1911) with lots of history, located right across the street (Peachtree St) from the Fox Theater. Common areas inside and exterior are lovely, however room was a bit dated and in need of some minor upgrades. Our room only had one full sized bed which was too springy and cramped for 2 people to sleep well. We were on the 14th floor but still heard lots of street noise (honking, people shouting, and sirens) during the night, especially Saturday. Nice view of city from window and even better view from rooftop common area (also where a very nice pool was located) and top floor gym (very nice equipment). Lots of boutiques and eateries (moderate to fairly expensive) within walking distance.” Aug 11, 2008 by
India from Bainbridge, GA
“OK but room was not that great.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Shawn from Atlanta, GA
“NA.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Lewis from Dallas, TX
“The hotel is nice but we had trouble 3 of the 5 days getting towels. The maid would never leave face towels then it would take all day for them to bring some up. The parking is $22 per day min and if you go in and out a few times it will be way more. $8 per in and out. If I would have known I would have to come out of another $25 per night on parking I would have just gone to a 4 star hotel.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Ronald from Warner Robins, GA
“The staff was pleasant and friendly but we had to interrupt workmen and work through construction materials to get into our room. The room was spacious and very romantic, but the water was Luke warm and the free internet service was nonfunctional. I am grateful that we were tired and can sleep through almost anything because the workmen were making noise into the wee hours of the night. On top of that the parking cost us an additional twenty two fifty.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Danielle. from Bay Minette, AL
“The restored historic Georgian Terrace hotel in downtown Atlanta is the absolute best! The ambiance is exquisite and the ability to dine on the porch directly across from the front entrance to the Fox Theater is splendid. The only hotel I will ever stay at again when visiting Atlanta!” Jul 24, 2008 by
Cherie from Union City, CA
“All of the staff was exceptional, welcoming, and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. Historic, comfortable hotel with elegance that is often missing today.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Kryslte from Greensboro, NC
“I loved the look and feel of the hotel. Parking was horrible though way over priced. $25 plus and additional hourly rate. I also did not like the maid service. Never had enough towels and cloths for two people, each night had to call for one or the other. But giving all aspects I would stay there again.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Kale from Coeur Dalene, ID
“I would definitely stay there again. Close to MARTA, good restaurants and entertainment. The area is safe but there are some annoying street folks that are more than eager to help you (for tips) but this was no worse than being in a resort area and having time share pitches. Never felt threatened.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Jaime from Seattle, WA
“I've stayed at this hotel at least a half dozen times and have always a large efficiency type room. I barely had room to iron my clothes - I had to move furniture to squeeze in an ironing board. That room was a total disappointment. I asked for a king and the front desk clerk told me no even though one was available. Very disappointing. It's too bad too, all of my other experiences here were ok, not this time. They also need to update the rooms. It's ok to have a historic hotel, but upgrade the rooms and amenities.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Donna from Virginia Beach, VA
“I was so happy and please when I arrived at the hotel. I was not expecting such a nice, spacious room and the hotel staff was so accommodating.” Jul 10, 2008 by
Steve from Chicago, IL
“This hotel's location is prime, but this is about all it has to offer. The bathroom in our room was dirty. Hair in the bathtub, floors and vanity were not cleaned. Even though they said housekeeping had cleaned the room. They had to send an engineer to our room 4 times because the AC was not working. The only apology we received was that they are currently being bought out and remodeling in the future was planned. So what? That didn't help us! The worse thing about this hotel is that there were no ice machines/vending machines! If you needed something to drink, you must leave the hotel and go to the store. This was most inconvenient.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Karen from Nashville, TN
“This hotel was very clean and beautiful. The room however did not meet my expectation for an upscale hotel. I had no refrigerator or microwave. The bed was a mere full size bed.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Bil from Nashville, TN
“Great staff - room was very acceptable and clean.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Sheba from Nyc, NY
“I did not have a 3 star stay at The Georgian Terrace Hotel. I did not feel like I was welcome.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Barbara from Kileen, TX
“I would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel. It is rated as upscale, perhaps 20 yrs ago, but now it is outdated. The rooms smelled molded and old. The carpet was dirty, my socks were black from walking on dirty carpet. The clerk who checked us in was rude and not helpful and non caring. I have stayed at many hotels and this was a 1st for me. Over all satisfaction, not good. The bed was comfortable, that would have to be the only positive experience I had.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Debra from Brevard, NC
“The Georgian Terrace is a beautiful old hotel in midtown Atlanta. The staff is super friendly. The room was a bit small, the sheets were clean, but stained. Definitely time for renovations. Carpets stained in hallways, tub had been refinished, but was peeling. Wallpaper peeling in spots in bathroom.” Jun 28, 2008 by
June from Powderhorn, CO
“The hotel was wonderful. My specific complaints: mold in shower; only metal mini blinds for windows and these had taken abuse; no desk; air conditioner was governed, although I lowered the thermostat as much as possible there was no difference in temp of room; due to lack of curtains I was unable to keep heat out of room; for an upscale hotel, I thought it unusual they would blast rap music in the middle of the day; walls were bare of any art/prints etc. very sterile and monochrome;.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Victor from Nashville, TN
“This hotel is a piece of history combined with the convenience of being Downtown. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a great work-out room on the top floor and a pool on the roof.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Johan from Ocal, FL
“When we saw our room and the size of the bed we realised that we will never be able to sleep as 2 persons on the bed. I called the Lobby and asked for a bigger room or a room with a Queen bed, this was the responce- You booked a standard room and that is what you get. They refused to give us another room although I knew they could have done it. Needles to say we never slept that night.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Michael from Santa Fe Springs, CA
“I would definitely stay at this hotel again.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Holli from Ledbetter, KY
“This hotel was on the registry for historic places. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel lobby was beautiful. The large pool on the roof was very nice and clean. The room we had was apartment sized with washer and dryer to use for free and a regular sized refrigerator and stove. Great hotel would recommend to anyone.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Lashonda G. from Augusta, GA
“When I'd arrived I wished that I'd brought my husband. This hotel was gorgeous and extremely romantic. It was within walking distance of some nice local cuisines. The hotel staff was very accommodating.” May 18, 2008 by
Sandra from North Kingstown, RI
“The exterior and interior are lovely. Our room was small with a double bed (they called it a California queen). Stained carpeting, a stained sink counter, broken blinds, and there was no bedspread.” May 10, 2008 by
Paul from Stockbridge, GA
“When you first enter the hotel you are pleased with the decor and surroundings. However, if there are a few people in front of you checking in, don't be surprised if you have to wait a while. The staff was quite slow and didn't really appear to be concerned about the long line of patrons who were waiting to check in. The rooms are fairly nice and the beds comfortable, if you like the memory foam mattresses. There is a nice porch at the restaurant that overlooks Peachtree Street right across from the Fox Theater. My overall experience was nice, but it could have been better. In addition, they forget to tell you that it costs $25.00 per day to park in the garage.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Eileen from Avondale, PA
“Good location, charming.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Darrell from Charlotte, NC
“The hotel is in a great location and is beautifully decorated. I did feel like it was stuffy and pretentious.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Mary from Tallahassee, FL
“Very good place to stay to attend an event at the Fox Theater. Parking is too expensive and cumbersome.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Jaime from Seattle, WA
“The rooms are spacious and well kept. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The location is one of the best in Atlanta. However, the rooms need updating. The TV looks to be 20 years old and does not provide for an enjoyable night in.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Barry from Winston Salem, NC
“Good location, Great facility, okays staff.”
