“The view and location was great and the staff was friendly and helpful.” Aug 12, 2009 by
Tiffany from Muncie,IN
“The hotel was located across the street from Newport on the Levee. The location was great! The room size was very nice and the bathroom was a great size too. The mini fridge and microwave were very nice. The hotel room had an odd odor and it just didn't seem clean.” Aug 10, 2009 by
Daniel from Elizabethtown,KY
“When I arrived at the hotel late in the evening there were what appeared to be three employees in the office. I was made to wait, what seemed like five minutes, while they finished their conversation before anyone would check me into my room. Very unprofessional.” Jul 15, 2009 by
Larry from Cambridge,TN
“This was my first and will be my last stay in a travelogue!” May 13, 2009 by
Ralph from Rochester,NY
“Location was great.” Mar 8, 2009 by
AJ from Perrysburg,OH
“If you are looking for a place to stay within walking distance of the Levee and it's bars, this is the place. If you want a nice place to stay, this is not the place to be. I wouldn't stay more than one night here. Very small rooms, fairly clean and horrid television and wireless reception.” Jan 26, 2009 by
Jim from Cambria,WI “Staff was not exactly friendly. One apple in the breakfast room looked like it had been there a few weeks. When we entered our room it was at least 85 degrees and took all night to return to a comfortable temp. Overall good place for the money. Plan accordingly for traffic, as the hotel is right downtown.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Daisy from Jeffersonville, IN
“Over all a great stay. Told my son its were they should stay.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Nancy from Paintsville, KY
“Hard to find area of town and was charged for a room we did not use.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Heather from Muncie, IN
“Awesome location for many attractions in and around Cincinnati, Ohio.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Amy from Wyandotte, MI
“Very close to things to do, the location could not be better. But the staff is disinterested, it was dirty, the breakfast was a joke and the breakfast room was dirty and trashy. The other guests were creepy and sketchy.” Aug 3, 2008 by
Lauren from Louisville, KY
“It was not the greatest hotel but we were not expecting much as 3 college kids needing a place to stay after a concert. It provided us with what we needed, a close location, good price, clean shower, and comfy bed. We had a decent view of the city as well which was not bad. The staff was a bit rude and there were not fitted sheets on the bed but we dealt. I would not recommend this for families but for college kids.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Valerie from Trenton, OH
“Overall, it was a good experience.” Jul 15, 2008 by
John from West Helena, AR
“The hotel itself was okay. I was not impressed with the outward appearance at all. On a positive note, it was conveniently located. The staff treated us with courtesy and respect.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Courtney
“Good hotel for short traveling, like overnight stay for business or concerts.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Jen from Louisviile, KY
“It was in a great location and the staff was really great (nice and helpful). Definitely worth it for a cheap hotel for a weekend in Cincinnati and surrounding area. However, Even though it is clean, the hotel is a little run-down and reeks of smoke! Even though I was in a non-smoking room my clothes smelled like smoke when I came home. Most of the guests smoke a lot! But if you are smoker than go for it. Also the continental breakfast was pretty shabby, but included, so that's good.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Jeff from Avon Lake, OH
“If your young and broke go to this hotel. Its cheap and not really dirty or anything. If you're a family, I'd stay away from this place. Not a good atmosphere for children.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Josh from Pickerington, OH
“Good hotel for those who don't mind appearance as much as proximity. Great location for trips to Newport area attractions, and a very reasonable price compared with some other hotels in the area. Not designed for luxury/upscale travelers; perfect for college-age people looking for an easy place to get to after a fun night at Game Works, Claddagh's, etc.” Nov 1, 2007 by
Darcy from Marshall, WI
“The price is fair for the location. However, the rooms need updating, although some improvements have been made within the last year. Clean.” Aug 12, 2007 by
Cindi from Louisville, KY
“Not enough ac, doesn't have supplies needed, not many nice hotel staff.” Jul 7, 2007 by
Leanne from Powell, OH
“Perfect location, but the hotel wasn't the greatest. It looked very run down and one of the lights in the room didn't work. We didn't have a remote for the TV (after we called they did bring us one), and the coffee maker didn't work. Overall, we were happy, but only because of the location of the hotel to Cincinnati's ballpark.” May 8, 2007 by
Steve from Powell, OH
“We wanted to find a cheap hotel to stay in for one night that was near the Newport bar district. This was. It was a easily witching walking distance (300 yards or less) we were able to get drunk, find some closely available food on the way home and then pass out while watching some free late night adult TV on the Showtime channel in our room. Great success.” Mar 14, 2007 by
Darin from Radcliff, KY
“This hotel is very conveniently located a few feet away from the Newport aquarium. The room size is adequate and comfortable for a one night stay over. The staff was very helpful with directions for different places to visit while there. The only complaint I had, was that the carpets had not been steam cleaned in the room I was in or the hallways, the ice machine on the first floor doesn't work, The window had no screen in it (it was hot and the air was not on until may) and the lights by the head board in room 132 did not function.” Nov 2, 2006 by
Elizabeth from Austin, CO
“Overall the price was maybe a little high for just a basic room but worth it for the location and the views from the third floor. The aquarium and the mall and some very nice restaurants were all within walking distance and Newport was a very nice little town. Also gave you a great view into Cincinnati which was just over the bridge.” Sep 27, 2006 by
Mary A. from Nashville, TN
“Hotel close to establishment we wanted to visit. Is older hotel and needs updating.” Aug 10, 2006 by
Barbara from Circleville, OH
“Overall the hotel was good. The location was great for us we didn't have to drive anywhere the entire time that we were there.” Jul 6, 2006 by
Jill from Adena, OH
“It was nice in the room, and we felt fairly safe with two locks on each door. The staff was friendly and willing to help. However, it was an inconvenience to enter our room by going through the lobby instead of the outside door of our room. Someone had to stay in the room as we got our stuff from the car to put in the room (because the door had to be wide open in order to enter from the outside door of the room). The location is awesome by the downtown Cinchy area (just a walk over the bridge). Overall an 8 out of 10.” Jun 29, 2006 by
Robert from Louisville, KY
“The hotel was good value for the money, clean, and most convenient to downtown Cincinnati. unfortunately there was partying from 2:00 on--very loud, continuing, nonstop.” Apr 8, 2006 by
Nelson from Nashville, TN
“Not appropriate for any business traveler. Low class joint with seedy/unsavory motel guests. Spend the extra $30-40 for Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn.” 1 of 3 people found this review helpful.
