“First hotel room that they gave me had a stench to it. She said the room was under maintenance. Clearly there was a reason for that. The second room was slightly better but still had a stench.”

• Area was quiet and spacious. Room contained a kitchenette.
• Rooms needed to be swept/wiped down better, furniture had water rings on it but cleaned off with cloth easily.

• The bathroom had recently been remodeled and was nice.
• The hotel was very hard to find. I blame this on a poorly designed interstate exit not the hotel.

“This particular hotel should do something to help travelers to find the location from the interstate. I doubt if they have any spur-of-the-moment guests because you can not see the hotel from the interstate and you would not just happen to drive by it.”

“It took us 20 mins to find the place. It sits way back. Once we got there they refused to give us double beds and wanted to charge us for double beds. Internet was not free. Once inside the room I wanted to cry. No really. I wanted to cry. It was a mess. Writing all over the door, the carpet was in really bad shape, I didn't even want to sit on the couch. People were hanging out. If you have small children do not stay here. Run!”

• Bugs in bed, spiders and possibly a tick in the bathroom.

“This was the worst hotel ever. I called to have a room with 2 double beds instead of the king size and the person I talked to was very rude and told me that when you have to pay extra. When I went to check in, the front door had to be opened by being buzzed in which made me nervous that that was that way, a police officer was checking in to start his duty as security which really made me uncomfortable. The front desk clerk seemed to have no clue and had trouble in talking English. He called the room shortly after we got in our room and asked if our room was ok and we told him that there was ants, bugs, spiders dirt and what looked like a tick in the room. He said to go back to front office and he would get us a new room. When we requested a clean bug free room, after 10 minuets of not knowing what to do he said that the only other room he had, had someone booked for the next day and that he couldn't give us that in case that person checked in early. Like huh! What an awful hotel.”

• The sheets on the bed were blood-stained! Roaches in the room! Not cleaned before our arrival!

• Oftentimes nobody attends the lobby.

“It seemed to me that the hotel had several empty rooms with 2 beds and they were using that as a ploy to get extra money and I don't appreciate that. It was 10 PM and I was tired and I just wanted to go to my room and rest, but I had to have several uncomfortable exchanges with the staff and stand my ground before they would agree to give me a room with 2 beds. By the time I got to my room I was angry, exhausted, and resented the fact that they put me through that. Beyond that the staff was not even in the lobby half of the time and the phone system were "down" for a big chunk of my trip and my wife was not even able to reach me in my room on several occasions.”

• I liked the helpful staff (called room to check on me) and the room was nice.
• The carpet in the room was stained and there was no iron.

“I thought that the Hometown Inn was an excellent place to stay for the price. It is convenient to the interstate, etc. It was nice and quiet; and, I felt safe there. I would recommend it to others.”

• Price was good. It was quite. Lady at desk was very nice.
• The sink had food in it and there was a roach on the counter.

“I liked the hotel. The room I had on my first visit was nicer than this visit. As I stated, there was food in the sink and a roach was walking on the counter. There also weren't any iron available so we had to out and purchase one. The first time we stayed at this hotel the only problem I had was finding it. I noticed, while in the office that others were also having problems finding it. It's kind of way back in no-mans land and If you aren't from the area it is hard to find restaurants or stores in that area. But as I stated. I would stay there again. The good out weighs the bad. And believe it or not, the nice receptionist made all the difference.”

• It did not meet the accomodations of the previous hotels that I have stayed in.

“This hotel is hard to rate, because it didn't have any coffee in the rooms. Most extended stay hotels or hotels have coffee in the room if you have a coffeemaker in the room. The location didn't actually make me feel secure about my surroundings.
I don't plan to stay at that area again unless it will be a better hotel and I will upgrade my choice of star level.”

• Room was dated, curtains opened when fan turned on.

“Receptionists where very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. The kitchen cabinets were rather dated, as were the appliances. The spoons had uneatable burn stains that worried me, so I had to buy plastic utensils. Comfortable bed and rather large bathroom. I was very pleased with the experience. Seemed to be better than a one star.”

• The night staff was willing to show me three rooms after my complaint of numerous room cleanliness issues.
• Rooms are old and not clean. Carpets with heavy spotting and soil. Planets with burns and stains.

“Good curb appeal but rooms old, carpets spotted, blankets with burn spots. Manager on duty very responsive to my complaints. I was showed three rooms before I found one that had a recent carpet cleaning and newer bath flooring. Chairs and table tops still needed washing. I didnt want to sit oat them. TV remote control not working properly.”

• No pillows in room, none available. Hard to get new room.

“Police car at office suggested safety issues. Clerk suggested it was my fault there were no pillows in the room. ("There usually are pillow," she said. Of course.) She couldn't get me pillows. Told me there were no other rooms until I threatened to telephone management above her level at 11 p.m. There appeared to be tens of empty rooms. She did give me another satisfactory room. Front office not yet open at 7:15 a.m.”

• Room furnishings older and worn, pillows not fresh or new.

“Room is very plain and simple, furnishings are worn and older. Room was acceptable for low cost and economy, bedding and pillows simple and plain. Pillows needed to be replaced. No special problems or complaints. Arrived late after office closed, but staff was helpful with letting me know how to check in after hours. Staff pleasant and helpful. Excellent wireless access at very low cost for stay. Location is difficult to find first time without directions.”

“Hotel was not convenient to get to. Too much traffic either on I-75 or Cobb Pkwy. In the past several times got hotels nearer the I-75/I-285 local. Non-smoking rooms obviously had been smoked in. Unfortunately I had an elderly couple with us and it was somewhat embarrassing to have taken them the this particular hotel. I have gotten much more for less money in the past.”

“When we called for directions and to say we would coming in late, there was no answer. They machine said they were closed. We tried many times. I left a voice mail The hotel was contacted and have changed their story 4 times--saying the phone did not ring, (she returned my call 24 hrs after we were home-how would she have the voice mail) they were there to let us in, a security guard was there to let us in, a cleaning man was there to let us in. Their customer service is awful!”

• Motel was dirty including bed linens and we were let in after waiting 2 hours.

“I have stayed in economy motels i.e., Motel 6 before but they were clean and had friendly employees. This motel room I occupied with my 16yr. old son was very dirty and we had to share the bed. I was told I had to pay extra in order to be reassigned to another room with 2 beds. The refrigerator was never wiped out, floor was never vacuumed, found blood stains on the bedspread quilt, maid finally came after 3 days, no iron or hair dryer in room, etc. ”
