“Great breakfast on the weekend. Wonderful room layout. Nice appliance options in the rooms. The mini mart was a very good addition as well. Definitely family friendly environment.” Aug 4, 2009 by

“I had reservations for 2 rooms. I had to cancel the reservation for 24th. On 25th a family member called the hotel to see if we had arrived. She was told the reservation had been canceled. She called me to ask why the reservation was canceled. I then called the hotel to confirm my reservation for that day. I was told the reservation had been canceled. The desk person said she had 2 adjoining rooms available on the 1st floor and was blocking them as we spoke. On arrival we were told the rooms had been give to someone else. We had to take 1 room on the 3rd floor and the other was a handicap room on the 1st. We had no choice but to accept the rooms. We were traveling together in 2 groups. I had secured both reservations with my credit card. I keep a small credit line on that card. It's mostly used for securing reservation. I tried to use the card on the 27th in Ann Arbor, Mi. The card was declined. I called to ask why and was told there were charges on hold on the card. After the reservation trouble, we decided to drive back to Lansing to get the problem resolved. I was told that there were charges for smoking in the room by the other party on the card. I was also told they smelled smoke in the room we stayed in (no one in my party smoke). I was also told that I was registered for that night as well. I was told that if I smoked in the room I would be charged for that as well. After about an hour of discussions and several calls to the credit card company, I was able to get the matter resolved. The problems from the hotel cost me a lot of stress and well over 2 hours of driving time. I lost over 3 hours in my return trip home because of the problems. I did not get as much as an apology from anyone. So, traveler beware. Check your credit card charges carefully after staying with this hotel. Also, confirm your reservations and maybe you can get the room you were promised.” Feb 24, 2009 by

“The room was cheery, cozy, and I loved having a radio to charge and play my iPhone. I also appreciate the free breakfast buffet, which was well-maintained and satisfactory. I hope I stay here again.” Oct 30, 2008 by

“Visitors beware! We stayed at this hotel one night on Oct. 17th and left on the 18th. We found the room to be satisfactory but were down at the very end of the hall. The front desk staff seemed friendly, smiling when you walked past or just not there at all. The breakfast was okay, limited selection of breads/rolls and a fried egg with undercooked sausage. I'd go for the oatmeal that seemed the safest next to fresh fruit. All seemed normal for a stay of one night and a place to rest. The next week back in Illinois we checked our visa account and found that the hotel had charged us an additional $140. I called to find out what this was all about and was told a couple of different things before coming to the final answer. First I was told they were unsure, second I was told that we had used a meeting room, which wasn't the case. Lastly I was told that there were items missing from our room upon search the next day or two after our stay. I was told that I wasn't being accused of stealing but that a comforter and two pillows were missing from our room. We stayed for one night, had a very small suitcase and I told them to check their surveillance to see that we did not take these items. I was told to leave a message for the Operations Manager to talk about this situation. Several hours later he called me back and continued to tell me there was nothing he could do about this, that our room was inspected before our arrival and all of those items were there and after we left they were gone. I tried to explain to this man that we in no way took these items. My husband is an Elite Marriott rewards member who has stayed in 33 different Marriott hotels this year alone and not once has he taken a thing. We wouldn't start now it's not worth it. After much arguing I was told that this case was closed and they would not reverse the charge and that was their final decision. Beware. I am sure they have done this before and it may have gone unnoticed on someone elses part, but not us. We are going to continue to fight this issue. We are not thieves! I do not recommend staying at this hotel.” Jul 3, 2008 by

“This hotel was actually further than we wanted to be, but I would consider staying there again. It was very nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable.” May 23, 2007 by
Jeff from Sawyer, MI
“Many of the non-smoking rooms had been smoked in. That's bad. This was my experience and I heard it from another guest in another room.” Sep 21, 2006 by

“When we entered our room the beds were not made and stuff was piled on the floor. Our room was switched and we were put into a smaller room. We went from non smoking to a smoking room. The hot tube was luke warm and the pool was freezing.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 29, 2006 by

“We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by.” Jul 19, 2005 by
Sean from Waco, TX
“Hotel was new, clean, and staff was friendly. The pool was nice but small. The hot tub needs to be adjusted because of its high volume of chemicals. The room was great! Decor was very inviting. It was near shopping and restaraunts. I had a little bit of a hard time finding it because it doesn't have a large sign. Overall, I was very happy with my stay at Springhill Suites.” Jul 7, 2005 by
Gwen from Iowa City, IA
“This hotel was really wonderful. It was like I had my own apartment. The decor was nicely done. All of the furniture was very comfortable. The internet service was also a major plus. Having a kitchenette in my room was a very pleasant surprise. The double closet was also a very nice touch. I noticed that there were rooms on my floor that were built to accomodate persons in a wheelchair as well as a room that was for deaf persons, this is the first time I have seen this accomodation available in a hotel and I must really commend them for their foresight.” Jun 16, 2005 by
Laura from Valdosta, GA
“I was amazed at how nice the hotel was. The staff was very friendly and the hotel was clean. I walked in to an amazing hotel with a separate living area, small kitchenette, and king size bed. What a great stay.” Jun 15, 2005 by
Josh from Chicago, IL
“This was a great deal, because the hotel is very new, very well designed, and the rooms are well appointed. Breakfast was included and had a nice variety. The pool looked nice, although I didn't try it. They supposedly have internet access, although I didn't try it. The room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee, and a large TV, a couch, and two beds. The staff was extremely courteous and professional. The highways are very close, although you might want to call to get exact directions--it is just beyond a large shopping mall.” Jun 14, 2005 by
Todd from Berkley, MI
“I couldn't have been more pleased. The hotel was very clean, had a great continental breakfast, and the hotel staff was very friendly and very accomodating.” Jun 9, 2005 by
Terry from North Webster, IN
“Hotel was nice but not a 2 star maybe a 1 to 1.5 star. also phones automaticly will put area code and a 1 before any local number if it is out of area with no notice to you and you will be charged if you complain they will remove charge but. was told that is how there phones are set up. ” May 31, 2005 by
Lucas from Topeka, KS
