• The staff was outgoing and helpful.
• Walls were paper thin.

“The elevators were slow and the walls were way too thin. We could here the lady in the next room sneezing and talking on the phone and everyone going by in the hall. The staff was helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean. Parking required you to walk up a hill to the entrance which is hard if your handicapped.”

“Their breakfast buffet was awful for the following reasons; hair in food, food was not replaced when trays were empty, old food out, etc. Overall, stay was less than impressive! Ice machines were broken, air conditioning units were very loud. Would not stay there again!”

• The breakfast was excellent.

“The motel had excellent facilities and the pool was great. The breakfast in the morning was unbelievable with so many choices. The staff at breakfast were so friendly and helpful. I definitely will go back. Thank You.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful.
• Only one ice machine worked. The pool area's towel service was very slow. Hot tub too hot.

“This hotel was supposed to be nice, but my experience was not a nice one. The room and halls smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The shower head did not work, nor did the hot water knob on the tub! We had a non-smoking room, but I wondered if the little sign of the door was changed at the last minute. My pajamas even smelled like cigarette smoke when we got home. I would not recommend this hotel. However, the staff at the desk were very nice and helpful.”

• The hotel is being repaired.
• The hotel is in disrepair.

“Strange decor (eg. framed neckties on the walls). Hotel room window had no heavy curtains to block out light. The room & public spaces showed lots of signs of wear. Breakfast buffet was extensive for a weekday, but the food had clearly sat around & was largely inedible. Other hotels in Richmond -though rated lower in terms of stars - are much nicer hotels.”

• They bought us a drink for our room not being ready.
• It is outdated and kind of dirty.

“When we arrived, our room wasn't ready but the staff bought us a drink in the restaurant while it was being cleaned. There is renovation going on. And I hope that they update the hotel in general. I was disappointed in the overall cleanliness of this hotel.”

• Warmest indoor pool ever!
• Wet carpet in room due to high humidity mixed with aluminum windows.

“Free breakfast was okay, room uncomfortable and pool area needed much repair, busted tiles everywhere. gym was basic, treadmills stair stepper.”

“Staff needs work. Hotel ok but TV stations almost non existent for movie watchers. Lots of noise. I stayed on a Saturday night but got woke up at 8 a.m. from noise on the roof with construction that shouldn't have been going on. Was really disappointed. Last stay was much better at this hotel.”

• The view from the room, bed needs replacement.

“Delightful. All personnel treated us first-rate. Space in room not generous. Mattress odd - probably needs to be replaced. Complimentary hot breakfast below lobby is absolutely delicious.”

• Very noisy, cramped bathroom.

“Overall, it was adequately comfortable and clean hotel room. But with a room facing the main road and being close to train tracks and highway, it was very noisy. I could also hear the people in the room next door talking in what sounded like normal level voices. There are only sheer blinds over the windows, so the sun could not be blocked out in the morning. The shower curtain rod was broken, the toilet flushed very slowly and the bathroom is cramped to have 2 people in it at the same time. However, the staff was nice and friendly; there is free internet access and a free breakfast buffet.”

• The wireless internet service wasn't working properly for the duration of my stay.

“The staff was very helpful -- the wireless service wasn't working, so they offered to print directions or lists of activities from their office computers. There was a free complimentary hot buffet breakfast each morning, and it was great for being a free hotel breakfast. The location was convenient: it was close to the interstate, but downtown Richmond was just a short drive away. Some of the fixtures in the room were a little outdated, but everything was very clean. If I¿m ever in Richmond again and need to stay at a reasonably priced hotel, this will be my pick.”

• Having 2 senior citizens along, the walk up the hill from parking area was inconvenient.

“The hotel had mostly all the amenities that I was looking for and was in an excellent location. The overall stay was very nice.”

“The Hotel Richmond is a nice hotel the people are very friendly. The rooms were very clean. Nice bar & nice breakfast the sausage was not that good.”
