• Very friendly and helpful receptionist.

“The hotel offered a clean and comfortable room at a location with easy access to the highway. The free internet access was helpful. The breakfast was descent for the star rating. I would stay there again.”

• Free breakfast and dinner.
• Maid left my door unlocked for hours.

“They had a free dinner on Thursday eve, and free breakfast on Friday, and Saturday with waffles, hard boiled eggs, breakfast sandwiches. Unfortunately the maid left my door unlocked with the security latch in the door jam, until I arrived at night. I reported it, but no compensation for the risk they put my personal belongings.”

• Staff was great, the location was convenient.
• The room was very small, the kingsized bed filled it up.

“The hotel is OK, the staff was fantastic. The location is a little noisy right near the highway. There were also dead bugs in some of the light fixtures in the room, otherwise it was clean. The room was tiny, with a king sized bed and all the furniture, there was not room for much else. The room was a little stuffy since the air conditioner did not work all that well, but that may have been due to the coolness of the weather.”

• The bed was so uncomfortable! Very firm mattress.

“Hotel was located right off the highway. Busy interstate lots of traffic lots of noise, they put us up in a pool side handicap room. Summer time and kids all over the place and was very noisy.”

• The room was very comfortable. Very nice place.
• Breakfast is served from 6 to 9 but if you don't get there early certain items are no longer available.

• Everything was great, no complaints, all questions and concerns were answered.
• Our room was quite small.

“Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with friendly staff. In the evening we had pizza at not additional cost. I enjoyed at this hotel and will continue to stay there.”

• Too small and damp.

“The hotel was fine except it was too small for our needs. There were 3 people in our room (me, my husband, and teenage daughter). The room was equipped with a king bed and we were offered a roll-away cot. The offer was nice, unfortunately, there was no room for the cot. Also, the room felt dump (humid) despite the fact that the air conditioner ran continuously. However, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We only stayed one night so it wasn't a big deal.”

• The room was tiny, too small for two adults and one child.

“Needs some updating. The cable TV only worked on a few channels, but we were only in the room for one night.”

• A bit run down. Sheets not good quality (something I always look for). rooms open to the parking lot.

• Friendly front office staff.
• Not sure why they did not clean our room during the stay.

“Hotel was nice. They had a nice workout facility and it was great to have a fridge and microwave available to us. They only thing that I did not understand was why our room was not clean during the duration of our stay. That is pretty common among most hotels and this one did not provide that to us.”

• The lobby was very attractive and the food and staff were very professional and friendly.
• The bathroom of our room needed updating. Wallpaper was coming off the wall, tub was chipped and old looking. Toilet wobbled.

• When I needed an extra room the desk staff was extremely helpful, got a room right next door.

“The friendliness of all of the staff was exceptional. From the cleaning staff to the desk clerks, all were well informed and seemed to want to help to make my father's and my stay very enjoyable and pleasant. The effort put forth by the desk clerk to solve my problem by getting me an additional room was far beyond expectations. This hotel and staff need to be highly commended for the attitude they universally display. A level of service not often found at even the 4 and 5 star hotels.”

• Hotel was adequately priced and beds were very comfortable.
• Had to try really hard to get door to lock.

“I believe there had been a cat or dog in the room recently because my allergies just went crazy. In fact, on our way out for dinner there was a guy a few rooms down taking a puppy into his room. Other than that, our stay was nice.”

“This hotel has friendly staff that is willing to help. The rooms are clean and off plenty of comfort. Breakfast offered many choices to suit any taste. Outdoor pool proved to be useless due to cold weather.”

• Not a very clean place. Noisy as well.

“The pillow case on the bed had a large yellow stain on it (the first one I saw when the bed was opened). There was hair left on the sheets, on the ice-bucket, and in the bathroom in the shower stall area. There was water dripping during the night that woke me up at 4 am. I do not think they clean their rooms. Only surface clean them. The noise from the freeway was annoying, as I could hear every car and truck that went through. The place was supposed to be smoke-free, yet on the third floor, there was a smell of old smokes permeating the air by the elevator. The staff was friendly however. ”

• It is sufficient for the price we paid. Continental breakfast is good. Easy access to highway.
• Bathrooms are very small. No soap dish provided. You have to use the wrapper. You can hear the trucks from the highway.

“Room was clean, but bathroom and sink is very small. For a family of four, it is difficult to get around each other when getting ready. The second time we checked in the front desk was much better and provided our preferences without much fuss.”

• The remodeling improved the lobby and breakfast areas and added a fitness room.
• I would like to see an indoor pool and whirlpool at the Fairfield..

“We have stayed at this Fairfield before the renovation. The remodeling greatly enlarged and improved the breakfast and lobby areas. We appreciated the manager's reception with complementary light dinner and soft drinks and the hot breakfast. We were glad to see that they had added a fitness room.”

• The room was nicely decorated.
• Would not guarantee non-smoking room , and I do not care for rooms that open to the outside.

“I had called the hotel three times to request a non-smoking room because I am allergic to smoke. However, when I arrived I was told that there was not a non-smoking room available in my price category. I could have had a non-smoking room if I chose to forfeit the money I spent for the two-night stay and rebook at the higher rate. I asked if they could credit what I already spent on the higher-priced room and I would pay the difference, but I was told they could not do that. I asked if I could borrow the Lysol (or similar) spray, and I was told they had none. They use only a spray scent which masks the smell, and for a person with allergies, that is worse than stale smoke. I was not happy. I ended up spending the weekend with a terrible headache.”

• Was placed in smoking room without being told.

“I was rather upset with being placed in a smoking room. I called the desk immediately and was told there were no non-smoking rooms available. I checked in around 4pm and there were very few cars in the parking lot at that time. The only thing they were able to offer and do was to come with the deodorizer which only helped for a few hours. I was unable to breathe nor sleep well and left my room early, i.e. around 6am.”

• I liked the feeling of safety, and loved the continental breakfast.
• I had a little difficulty finding the entrance.

• Easy access to express way and excellent complimentary breakfast.
• The condition of the carpet in the hallways.

“The rooms were every clean, however the rooms do not match the expect ions established by the lobby. And the hall carpeting on the second floor was horrid. Needed to be replaced about 5 years ago. Front desk employees unable to help with directions to the Miller Auditorium on the campus of Western Michigan University. Overall it was an acceptable room for an overnight stay.”

• Overall cleanliness of the room - the beds were inviting with crisp white sheets though we were confounded by bed-end decoration.
• Workmanship in bathroom is sub-standard. The caulking around the bathtub wall was disgusting.

“All-in-all, the hotel was a pleasant place to stay. A minor detraction was the access road to the freeway due to the increased motor noise. We were late to our engagement because no one bothered to change the clock to daylight savings time....a small detail but one that mattered. Breakfast was a delicious bonus.”

• The location was close to the Wings Arena where I was working.
• Outside entrances on floors one and two.

“For a Fairfield Inn I was a little disappointed. Most of the Fairfield, I have stayed in are nicer than this one. Good breakfast choices. Outside entrances for rooms on the first and second floor. The third floor has indoor entrances.”
