  • The Seelbach is a beautiful historic hotel. I loved the decor and the beautiful furnishings.
  • We were put in a very small room with an inferior view. There wasn't enought light in the room. The shelf in the bathroom wasn't level .

“The room was large enough only for a Queen bed and little else. The bathroom had no place to put toiletries and the shelf slanted down causing all objects to slide off to the floor (or in the toilet).”

“The Seelbach is a Lousiville tradition that lives up to its reputation. From the decor through the bar, it reeks elegance. Its location next to the new Fourth Street Live night-life district (formerly the Galleria) could not be more convenient (although we were plagued by the noise of Fourth Street partiers until 4 a.m. one Saturday night.) ”

  • Our bathroom was huge & the staff was very helpful.
  • There was no in-room coffee maker or free continental buffet.

“We really did enjoy our stay. The staff was wonderful ~ especially the valet staff. They gave us great restaurant recommendations each night. However, I really do wish there had been an in-room coffee maker or a free continental buffet (with coffee). That's one little perk I guess I've just come to expect from any hotel, especially an upper-scale one. I think I had a caffine-withdrawal headache by the time we made it to the hotel cafe!! :o) Overall, aside from the beautiful artwork & the atmosphere, there wasn't really anything to set the Seelbach apart from any other less-espensive hotel. Yes, the atmosphere was nice, but, I would expect a 4-star hotel to have more perks, not more art... ”

“The Seelbach is a wonderful historic hotel and was a great place to stay for a weekend. The rooms are small (remember--it's an old building) for a 4-star hotel, but they are very well- appointed. T he jazz band in the Seelbach Bar made the experience. There's a small coffee pot with a two cup bag of John Conti coffee in the room, but if you are a real coffee drinker, you'll have to pay for seconds.”

  • Quaint atmosphere with a terrific location.
  • A bit overpriced for what you are getting. Especially the parking - it is outrageous to have to pay $12 a night just to park next to a hotel.

“I enjoyed staying at the hotel. Our first night was in a junior suite. It was very spacious with a beautiful marble sink in the restroom. The beds were a little squeaky and you could feel the springs through the mattress. The regular room was a bit on the cramped side. It was nice having a Starbucks at the corner of the hotel.”

It had a relatively small bed with no more than 3 to 5 feet surrounding the bed. The T.V. was oddly positioned within the room. You couldn't walk around the bed with the amoire's doors open. The water was cold. The sink never did warm up. It took forever for the shower to warm up enough to get under.”

“The Seelbach is Historic to Louisville and has a beautiful interior. The room was adequate but LOUD. I was very disappointed in the noise from "4th street live" (a large indoor/outdoor restaurant/bar/entertainment area located adjacent on 4th street) that was loud in my room, even after 3 am. I suspect that this is an occurrence every weekend, so I would recommend trying to stay on the BACK side of the hotel because of the noise.”
