• Coffee in room was good.
• No free Wi-Fi, had to pay for parking each day.

“Requested a room with a king bed 3 weeks before our trip. We were told it would not be a problem, because they had 600 rooms. When we arrived we were told sorry only had rooms with 2 full beds. Needless to say we were not happy about this. This was are 25th anniversary and I was hoping for this to be a special trip for us both. It isn't good business to say one thing and do another. Really put a crimp in our special trip.”

• Beautiful beach, comfortable bed, & helpful staff.
• The loud and annoying music being blared from the deck.

“This trip was a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. We were very pleased with the location, the room and the amenities. The room was clean and comfortable, and we were going to try and staff. The bed in our luggage, but it was too big and fluffy. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was lots to do, and we spent most of our time on the beautiful beach.”

• There was a incredible level of noise until the wee hours of the morning.

“It may have been that there was a wedding and a trade group meeting at the hotel the night I stayed, but the noise level was obnoxious until 2am. I would not recommend this hotel for weekend stay.”

• I like the convenience of everything I needed without having to leave the facility-Loved the view of the ocean.
• The room didn't stay cold enough, and the sofa sleeper was broken.

“The hotel had everything you could ever need or want to do! I was a little disappointed with our room, it had a bad smell, we couldn't turn the air low enough to cool the room and the sofa sleeper was broken and hard to sleep on.”

• The hotel is actually beautiful, great location, close to shopping/dining.
• The room had a stuffy order that could not rid, also, I have never stayed at a hotel where they charge for parking.

“The hotel was beautiful and my husband and I enjoyed our stay. I feel there should be another hot tub installed. The room was comfortable, but there was a stuffy odor that we could not get rid of. I have never stayed at a hotel where you have to pay for daily parking.”

• Huge room with comfortable beds, short walk to amazing white sugar sand beach.
• Nothing, everything was wonderful.

“We were thrilled with this hotel. The front desk upgraded us to a larger room with an ocean view for no extra charge! She also only charged us to park one vehicle, even though we had 2! The room was huge! It included a bunk bed and 2 lovely soft beds with lots of fluffy pillows! Our view was slightly obstructed because of another condominium, but the view we did have was beautiful of Destin's white sugar sand. The large bath with another outside sink vanity was so nice, since I was traveling with my elderly mother and college bound daughter. The housekeepers, front desk staff and bell hops were all friendly and helpful. We had a memorable trip.”

• The beach is beautiful and the fitness center was good.
• Staff was unfriendly, hotel nickel and dimmed for everything and overcharged, too many children.

“If you are traveling with screaming children, this hotel is for you. Staying at the Hilton San Destin was like staying at a day care center where children were very poorly supervised. We should have expected this when we discovered that every room at the hotel has a set of bunk beds for kids. Also, the hotel charges for something at every turn. It costs $40+/day to rent beach chairs at a beach hotel. The staff was generally unhelpful and unfriendly. The food at the beachside restaurant and the indoor restaurant were not good and very expensive, as typical of a hotel restaurant. The beach/pool bar did not open until 11 AM even to serve non-alcoholic drinks. Our sheets never got changed in the 3 nights we were there, which I know because the bed was sandy. Definitely not 4-star quality and not Hilton quality either.”

• There was a great variety of amenities such as multiple pools and security minded and friendly service.
• Limited access to workout room so did not go.

“Overall, I think the hotel kept a good standard of professionalism. With access to the beach and the extras like showers and wash areas after leaving the beach was nice. The oversized pools and also have the inside pool and spa was great.”

• The bathtub was dirty, not good for baths.

“Everything was great, except tub. Very relaxing, quiet, room was perfect with beds, and bunk beds. View was awesome! Really enjoyed it! The restaurants were high in price, and the parking to stay was 10 dollars or valet was 20. I thought if you stay there you shouldnt be charged. Otherwise it was nice.”

• The comforter on the bed was rather worn.

“The hotel was nice, but the comforter was very worn as if a cat had been on it. At other hotels, you have free internet, not here! Internet was $9.95/day. At other hotels, you have the option of letting them have a credit card in case you want to charge something to your room. It's like you get no perks for staying there and they charged for everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and I loved the fact that there was a balcony for each room. My husband and I spent a majority of our time on the balcony.”

• The room looked like furniture was missing there was no sofa in the room.

“The hotel in general was very nice. But the room looked like it was part of a large suite and did not have a sofa or any chairs other than two small chairs at a table. Not what I would have thought you would get at a Hilton hotel.”

• Great Hotel! Excellent location, amenities, customer service, cleanliness, and room.
• Occasionally the elevators were slow a very minor detail.

“Excellent hotel. Upon check-in the desk clerk upgraded our room to a king beach view for no extra charge. In addition, the room was spacious, clean, no weird smells, great balcony, fabulous sheets, etc. We were really impressed by the room, hotel amenities, and customer service. I would highly recommend it.”

“The hotel was nice, expensive restaurants, but that was expected. I tried to contact their activities desk but was constantly redirected to several different phones and put on hold. I recommend making plans before getting to the resort. Parking fees should be included in the hotel cost!”

“The amenities were bountiful! The beach was beautiful and clean. The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating. Our room was ready upon arrival at 4 PM and was given the option of updating to a room with bunk beds, we were willing to wait. We waited for 1 hour and got a room with a view of the ocean.”

• Lots of little extras to pay for, but overall, not bad.

“This was a very nice family hotel. Our room was very large, with a balcony. Bathroom and separate vanity - worked great for family. Micro and fridge and wet bar area was good for snacks. Beds comfortable, but a little small (double?). Our room was right around the corner from the pool - there were 2 nice (warm!) pools and an indoor pool, and the deck of the pool led directly to the beach. We were able to hang out at the pool and beach all day and easily return to our room. Plus they handed out free ice cream to the kids at 4pm. The parking was also convenient, we were able to park right next to entrance. Restaurants were expensive, but they had an outdoor grill that wasn't too bad. Also they had a cute sushi bar with inexpensive sushi, expensive drinks, and free chips and salsa. Parking cost $10 per day, beach chairs cost $40 per day - but you could have opted to bring your own (there are cheap stores outside of the Hilton compound). Overall, we had a great time, it was well worth the money - we would love to return.”

“The Sandestin Hilton met all expectations. It was clean relaxing. Every room appeared to have a view. The location was practically the first hotel when you got to Sandestin. We will go there again hopefully.”

“Positives - Location and excellent entertainment (fireworks and a couple of one-man bands). Negatives - Our room was less than clean. There was a dead roach in one of the cocktail glasses and a wine cork in the floor! To the hotel's credit, the maintenance staff was prompt in there response to our difficulties. I would not recommend visiting this Hilton on a holiday weekend. The management is clearly not capable of running the facility at full capacity. I have never written a complaint letter in my life - I guess there's a first time for everything.”

• Staff was fabulous. I never felt as if we were treated any different than any other guest. We were put in 2 great rooms.
• The beach chair/umbrella charge was a bit high. Several days adds up fast. Would bring own chair/umbrella on future trips.

“The Hilton Sandston was fabulous. The beach was gorgeous. The grounds were well maintained. The staff was always professional and attentive. I was worried we would be put in a less desirable room.' However, we were given rooms on the 6th floor with a full beach view!”

• Beach bar closed at 4 pm.

“This hotel is a great value for the price we paid. It's older but has been refurbished and is well maintained. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The public spaces are decorated with tropical decor and are very airy. The front desk was accommodating. The beach was crowded, as was the pool area. The pool bar had live music and was a busy place. The beach bar closed at 4 pm for some strange reason, and that didn't make the guests too happy. Overall a great place to stay, though.”

“Overall it is what you would expect from a three star Hilton property. I found it irritating that everything had a added charge. I travel for a living and these things make the difference. Overall we were very happy with the hotel and its staff. The only real complaint was that the A/C seemed to be quite weak in both of the rooms that we stayed in.”

• This was the most accommodating staff at a resort/hotel I have met in many years.
• Nothing at all; it was perfect in every way.

“This hotel had the "wow" factor that you hope for in a beach getaway. I vacation on cruise lines a lot, but this resort definitely made my stay much more enjoyable than any cruise I have ever taken. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the location and amenities at the hotel were of the highest quality, and the experience my family and I had there was unforgettable.”

• It is right on the beach and very safe.
• It is $10.70 a day to park your car on top of your room rate.
