“Hotel was great, clean and near everything. The breakfast was the biggest drawing point, it had everything you would want and then some. The beach was great and was just a short walk away. The only thing I didn't like was the coffee so I will bring my own next time. Will stay again.”

• Quiet, clean, happy hour, breakfast, location.
• Lack of 24 hour room service, no smiles from a clerk, and no vent in bathroom.

“My wife and two daughters stayed Dec.31 - Jan.3. Check-In was smooth. Rooms were clean everyday. Happy hour was worth it - Clerk needs to smile and interact with his guests more! Breakfast is great and offers many different items. Located near plenty. Recommend The Crab Trap (family friendly) down the street located on the beach for drinks, crab legs, crab dip, teriyaki shrimp, and gorgeous views and beach bar. Longhorn for a Filet Mignon and friendly service, Carraba's for a Martini, Lobster ravioli, and chicken cannilonni. Jesters at HarborWalk Village for frozen drinks expensive but yummy - try the Jester! Harbor Dock for blackened grouper or shrimp, many guests were eating the sushi - seemed highly requested, creme brulee was really tasty, and great views of boats coming in the Harbor. Do not go to McDonald's at night, awful service, they completely forgot our order. New Years Eve at HarborWalk Village was awesome and we plan to go again. Embassy may have been a few miles from everything but it was quiet and convenient we did not worry about the mileage. Sometimes a drive down the road is well worth it.”

• The breakfast was fabulous!
• Hotel is far away from Destin and was a little hard to find.

“Stayed with my 2 daughters (ages 7 and 11) and my mom and everyone had an enjoyable stay. The breakfast was great! It was nice to have a 2-room suite and gave the kids their own TV and some privacy for the adults. Only slight negative was the location as it was very far from the other hotels and somewhat hard to find as it was off of High way 98. The pool was ok, nothing spectacular. The beach is a short walk across the street and down a path.”

• Nice suite, short walk to beach, free happy hour.
• Pool and hot tub didn't measure to up to hotel, room AC not cold enough for wife.

“Arrived Monday afternoon. Left Friday morning with wife and 2 small children. Had to call hotel to get directions for the last couple of blocks. Operator very knowledgeable. Hotel rooms comfortable and well kept considering everyone goes to beach across street. Buffet breakfast very well done with made to order omelets and fresh food. Happy hour from 5:30 to 7:30 was basically all you could drink well drinks in their very nice courtyard. Drawbacks: Pool/Spa just ok. AC at night didn't get freezing cold like my wife likes it. No view of beach. Still, I would definitely go back here again.”

• Separate bedroom and living room.
• Very loud common areas.

“Room was nice and clean, however, the living room area door opened up to the courtyard and it was very loud until quite late at night. It was so loud, in fact, that we had to go to the bedroom and shut the door to watch TV because the noise below was cutting through the television sound. At least one of the elevators was consistently. That was our only.”

• Convenient to beaches and shopping.
• In poor repair.

“The manager bring me in a non-smoking room even though the reservation was for smoking and didn't even tell me when I called to confirm. The first room had no tub at all. The shower didn't work in the second room. The lobby was swarming with time-share solicitors, and the private beach was shared with at least 5 other hotels. The city of Destin is beautiful, but I will stay elsewhere the next time.”

• I loved the location and the spacious room! Access!
• We could not get hot water or even warm water and staff didn't seem to think it a problem.

“I liked the hotel, the room, the location but once again really had a problem with the lack of hot water in the shower. Staff said there was nothing they could do about it.”

• Hotel check-in staff was rude. had wrong address for my name and would not correct!

“This place is not worth your money. Almost impossible to locate, way off the main road and hotel staff was unable to give us directions on how to get there, didn't even know names of roads to turn on! Unbelievable!”

• I loved their bed pillows, so comfortable. I would stay again!
• Bathroom was not properly stocked with toilet paper and facial tissue.

• The atmosphere in the lobby.
• Our bathroom smelled like smoke, either poor ventilation or not a thorough enough cleaning.

“This hotel was comfortable, clean and the atmosphere was impressive. Free breakfast bar with a huge selection is a major plus, and free drinks during happy hour are awesome. The lobby can be a little loud, with music and people in the bar/restaurant area, but the sound does not filter into the rooms very much. The bathroom smelled like smoke, and the employees were willing to come spray, it was just a concern that either someone else was smoking in their room and it was getting into ours via the ductwork, or someone had previously smoked in there and the bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly enough to remove the smell. The walls were somewhat thin, as we could hear the person next door snoring, but it wasn't horrible. Overall, a very pleasant experience, only a few low spots (the smoke smell and the snoring) that could not really be helped by the staff since they can only control guests so much.”

“Me and my spouse arrived under the impression that we had paid for a Jacuzzi suite. We DID pay for one, but what the hotel considered a "Jacuzzi suite" turned out to be a decent suite, but instead of finding a Jacuzzi, we found a glorified bath tub. It was very disappointing. Also disappointing was the noise level coming from the open-air lobby. It was very noisy and the walls were apparently very thin. Overall, the hotel was nice, but not somewhere that I would stay again- especially not for the price!”

• The complementary cooked to order breakfast is better than any place I have ever stayed.
• The pool was heated but the Jacuzzi was not.

“We went for our honeymoon, and requested a room that had a view of the gulf. Our view was amazing, the beach was a short walk across the street, there were tons of attractions all around us, awesome restaurants, shopping, and experience type places. We wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel was so comfortable.”

• Has a private beach and near a great outlet mall but away from the high density of Destin.
• No complaints.

“Great place to stay! They have their own private beach and 2 blocks from a great outlet store with Kenneth Cole, Saks, etc. I liked the fact that Miramar Beach is slightly away from Destin which has high density crowds and activity.”

• Location to beach; we wanted a suite; complimentary breakfast.
• Rooms were dark, poorly lit, so-so public facilities.

“The hotel is a short 100 yard walk from beautiful Miramar Beach, which is wonderful. The hotel grounds are nothing to speak of, the pool is beside the parking lot and very small. For convenience to the beach, proximity to a large outlet mall, and a more than adequate complimentary breakfast, it is a good place to stay for a beach vacation.”

“My main reason going to Destin is the beach. The hotel was located directly across the street from the beach so we had great access to the beach. The lobby is plush and gorgeous. The rooms were very nice. Having a separate living area was a great bonus along with the kitchenette area. In the bedroom, being female I especially liked having a vanity to use while my companion used the bathroom. The room was very comfortable. It was almost like apartment living with extra amenities. Although we didn't go much the pool area was nice also. We glanced at the workout room, and it seemed to be nice as well.”

• The airiness of the hotel and all the foliage gave it a tropical feeling.
• It did not have a restaurant to sit in and order meal and drinks separate from the courtyard.

• The breakfast was great and the happy hour was awesome. The rooms were nice and big and nicely appointed. Good location to everything.
• The only thing I did not like was housekeeping - they did not clean bathrooms and floors (mopping/vacuuming) unless you specifically asked them to.

“Great location and you feel very safe. Nicely appointed rooms and the breakfast were awesome along w/the Happy Hour that they had each night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The only negative is they need to have housekeeping mop/ vacuuming floors everyday considering you are at the beach. They do it only if you ask them to each day. I would definitely stay there again. All in all - can't wait to stay there again.”

• The check-in clerk was both rude and unhelpful.

“Easy to miss the sign off Highway 98, this Embassy Suites hotel is unremarkable. Checking in, the desk clerk was rude and seemed unfamiliar with hotel procedures. She didn't bother to point out where the room was located and a luggage cart was no where to be found. The manager and a bellman where too busy gossiping to be of any help. Upon arrival at the room, the door was ajar and unlocked. The design of this hotel with its four-story atrium means shouts and screams from the hotel bar below will likely be a disturbance to you.”

• The lobby was nice, and it was close to the beach.
• Everything had a price tag. There were very few freebies.

“I was somewhat disappointed in the hotel. The pool was small, and shallow (5ft). I got the impression from the web site, that it was located on the beach, however it was across the street. There was no free Internet service. The shampoo and conditioner provided was of low quality. For the price I expected more. Although the Wingate Inn is rated 2 stars, it is much better than this one.”

• Big room, clean, very near from the beach, quiet and friendly.
• Breakfast was not so good. No beach view. Bathtub was choked (stuffed?). Service charge for beach chair and umbrella. Far from Destination midtown.

“The beach is very near across the street, but no beach view. Pretty far from midtown, has lots of shopping-mall-outlets near by, good for shopping. Wal-Mart, Target etc about 6 miles far. Seafood restaurant and Boat ride also located at midtown (6 miles from hotel).”

“Hotel was well maintained and visually appealing. While not directly on the beach it is only a very short walk (cross the road). The courtyard style interior really amplifies the noise level. This was compounded during my stay because of the large number of college age "spring breakers" that filled the place and roamed the halls until the all hours of the night into the early am hours yelling and slamming doors.”

“The Embassy Suites in Miramar is a very nice, conveniently located hotel. Every room is a suite with a fold-away bed in addition to the one king or two queen beds in the room. There is a nice living area, two entertainment armoires, a bar, and a media area in each suite. The complimentary breakfast is out of this world. At the price I paid, I would definitely recommend this to others.”

“Great amenities come at this hotel free breakfast and free happy hour drinks. The suite was great, a queen for us and a fold-out bed in the outer room for our son. We had to walk across the street to get beach access, but at an average $70 per night.”
