• Easy access to highway and downtown Bloomington by car.
• Not within walking distance of downtown or to IU.

“Comfortable room with good linens. Clean. Can be noisy on weekend when there are football games at IU.”

• The decor was nice and the bedding was comfortable.
• The room was small. The exterior doesn't match the interior.

“When arriving, the outside of the hotel looks old and non-impressive. The lobby was nice and updated and had a nice bar. The breakfast buffet was nice. The manager was accomodating. We didn't get the king suite we were promised, but he did get us 2 king rooms next door to each other.”

• Clean, quiet, convenient. Friendly staff. Great hotel.
• No complaints other than restaurant not an equal star.

• Cheap.
• Just about everything.

“University Plaza is a shady, aged, run-down facility. I asked for a smoking room but was given a non-smoking room. The cable TV in the room was crappy and most of the channels had static and hissing. The only Internet access is the wireless in the lobby. ”

• Good Location. Front desk staff very helpful.
• Room was a bit run-down.

“One star, so don't expect too much. Could use updating, but then wouldn't be as inexpensive. Close to downtown, campus and football/basketball stadiums.”

• It was older but well maintained.
• The window in my room was fogged seal was broke no view.

• The room was very clean.
• Bathtub was clean but the refinishing material was badly flaking off.

“This is somewhere that you can stay that will provide a clean room with ample space. I would not have a problem recommending this hotel to my family or friends.”

• Heated indoor pool.
• It wasn't that clean.

“The location leaves a lot to be desired. The staff needs to pay more attention to the way the rooms are kept clean. There were cobwebs in almost every corner and there was mold on the shower tile. This used to be a Ramada Inn and since it was taken over by the new owners it has really gone downhill.”

• The staff was very friendly.
• The carpet was filthy, there were stains on the ceiling--overall, the hotel looked extremely run down.

“The staff of the hotel was nice and the entrance lobby looked OK, but the interior of the rooms was really dirty--there were stains on carpet, ceiling, etc. Although the beds were comfortable, everything looked dismal. The location is not great, but it is very convenient for getting around.”

• Restaurant closed on Sunday, no room service.

“Hotel was conveniently located and clean but badly in need of some updating. Bathroom left a lot to be desired. It was clean but walls peeling in places.”

• The pool itself looked nice, although I didn't use it. The beds were okay.
• I don't like to be picky but, the room smelled like chlorine, I saw a roach in the pool area.

• Air conditioner was noisy we were in the pool and had the lights shut off the man should have said he was closing the pool first before turning lights

• It was close to where our event was and easy to find.
• It was run down, not very clean, the elevator was out and we were on the third floor.

“When we arrived we were greeted very nicly, went to our room and found it just fine. our room was clean but beet up. The carpet was a bit dirty. We left for diner and when we returned found that the elevator was not working right. another guest told us not to use the elevator,the next morning we found a sign OUT OF ORDER. so when we checked out we had to cart our stuff down theree flights of stairs. ”

• Filthy rooms, rude front desk, restaurant closed before stated time, cold showers no hot water.

“They list refrig & microwave for all rooms, but this is not true. You have to request this and it is additional $10.00 per night. They list wake up call available, but this was not true either. There was hair all over bathroom door and a hair in coffee pot. The restaurant is to be open until 9:00 PM, but on arrival on a Friday night at 8:30 PM the restaurant had closed so had to order delivery. The first morning at hotel we had to take cold showers due to no hot water. A child threw up in the pool area and it was not cleaned up by the time the pool was closing so towels were over it the whole time we were at the pool (1-2 hours). Sauna did not work. Front desk was rude and only had sarcastic remarks when questioned about problems. The only thing this hotel has that is nice is their very large indoor pool.”

• The location of my room was overlooking the pool that they have indoors.
• The suana they had did not work and I was really looking forward to relaxing in it.

• The hotel did have a pool and was close to the highway.
• The staff was unwelcoming. The rooms were worn around the edges. The advertising materials were over exaggerated.

“The pool, while indoors, was frigid. The sauna wasn't working. And it looked like they recently removed the whirlpool. The room itself was drab and one of the chair legs was broken.”

“The hotel was in pretty good shape, however, the tub looked kind of dirty. The only problem I had with the hotel was that they did not tell me there was a charge for local calls, nor was there a notice posted in the room by the phone, so I did not know until I checked out and had to pay for the local phone call I made.”
