• The hotel was right on the beach.
• It was a very long walk from our room to the lobby. Sometimes our parking lot was full and we had to park in the garage, also a long walk.

“The first room they put us in reeked of stale cigarette smoke, even though we were guaranteed a smoke-free room. They put us in a new room without a problem, although, no one helped us move our luggage to the new room. The rooms are pretty average, but we had a balcony with a view of the beach and we could literally walk out of our room and be on the beach in 60 seconds. The hotel restaurant is a disaster. Horrible service and crappy food.”

“We enjoyed our stay at Ramada. We were very pleased with the exception of the size of the room which was very small (we had a bigger room in a much, much cheaper hotel in Branson). The view of the beach was beautiful. We even saw dolphins from our balcony one day and from the beach the next day. There were dead fish on the beach on our last day - I believe it is called a red tide. The staff worked hard to clean up the beach, but it was still kind of disgusting - but not the hotel's fault. I will definitely stay there again.”

• Door lock to room was inoperable and needed to have maintenance repair.

“Overall facility was fine; however the wing our room was located in had problems with the door lock that required repair, thus an annoyance upon arrival of actually accessing the room.”

• The location and right on the beach.

“I was disappointed in the look of the place, the lack of space in room, and the price given that it as a Ramada Inn. I asked for a room on the beach side and they would have charged me extra, which is somewhat rude given they were not very full.”

• Flow from AC cannot be directed from unit.

“This stay was my second. The staff was friendly, efficient, and willing to work with customers. The rooms were clean. It is in a good location, relative to FWB and destination. I would encourage friends to stay here.”

• The view.
• Parking - not enough, or too far from room.

“There should be a gate or walkway to the attractions next door instead of having to go all the way around - not convenient. Clean, service good, pool area nice. Parking was a real issue - some guests were seen pushing 'cones' into their parking space and leaving so it would be saved for them upon their return. Elevators were slow.”

• The hotel should have cleaned the beach area, there was dead fish everywhere.

“The hotel itself was very nice, room, restaurant, and pool area. What was very bad was the beach directly behind the hotel, there were dead fish everywhere and you'd think the hotel manager would have sent someone to clean it up. I had to drive 10 to 15 miles into Destin to enjoy the beach, which is why I went there to begin with.”

• The hotel was right on the beach, less driving.
• No continental breakfast.

“I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to travel to the Fort Walton Beach/Destin area for a great vacation. The hotel is right on the beach, there are bars/restaurants on site so you never have to get back in your car. If the water is too rough at the beach, there is a great pool and lounge area. If you do want to get out, you are just a few minutes from the best restaurants in the area. The only disappointment was the lack of continental breakfast. Breakfast is offered, but the prices at the hotel are outrageous.”

• The setting was beautiful. The area to the beach was spectacular and had I had more time I would have utilized it to the fullest.
• Did not like the fact that my hotel room was not facing the beach. Parking was not good.

“The hotel was very clean, very well decorated and employees were very friendly and accommodating. My daughter is a travel agent and notified her to send her clients to this hotel if any were staying in the Fort Walton Beach area.”

• I liked the convince of the hotel being located on the beach.
• I did not like the space of the room; it felt like we were crammed in a box.

• Loud laundry carts sounded like trains on tile walkways.

“Enjoyed stay nice layout beach clean and easily accessible. Needs outdoor carpeting on walks to reduce noise by cleaning crew and rolling suitcases. Sounded like trains rolling by your door at 7 a.m.”

• The scenery was beautiful. They had almost everything on site within walking distance.
• The only thing I found wrong was the toilet didn't flush good.

“The staff was very easy to work with especially when I wanted to extend my stay by another day. They tried their best to give me accurate information to where I wanted to go. All in all it was a comfortable stay and very relaxing.”

• The view was amazing; seemed to have a lot for families.
• Bathroom was tiny; no vanity space at all.

“Overall, this place was great. Although the vanity space in the bathroom was nonexistent, I did not go to the beach to spend my time in the bathroom! Also, there is about 2 feet of "closet" space so there was enough room to hang my stuff but not enough room had I gone with my kids. In fact, the "closet" is merely a space in the wall (no door). But, the place seemed to have a lot of offer in the peak season and I hope to take my kids there this summer.”

• Original room we were given.

“The room we checked into was facing the parking lot, very small and very dated. We went back to the front desk and requested beach front, and paid the difference for the length of our stay. It was worth the money. We moved to a much nicer room with beachfront balcony. Even after paying the difference, we still saved so much money by using.”

• Heated pool and an upgrade because non smoking.
• The side entrance to the beach front building was a stairway not a regular entrance. It is used as a main entrance way.

“Check in was great, friendly, no waiting and generous. Room was more than I even asked for and was very clean. The pools and hot tub were well lit and clean. The service was great and as a single female traveling alone I felt very safe. The food was a little pricey but very good service and quality. The staff was most helpful and kind.”

• The location is beach front and the pool is fabulous.
• The incorporating of the middle of the hotel, which is an old 50s-60s motel, with a beautiful front and back section. It's misleading.

“MOST of this hotel is beautiful! It has a fabulous location directly on the beach, with a very nice pool. The lobby is modern, spacious and very nicely appointed. The same can be said about the guest rooms in the back seven story building. At the best, I would give it 2 stars, and that is being generous. The rooms needed redecorating, they were old and somewhat shabby looking and the mattresses were horrible and should have been replaced way before now. This room was not worth the price I paid, at all. This happened in San Francisco and then again on this trip to Ft. Walton Beach, FL. ”

• Great Staff, Great pool, Great location...
• Our room was in a horrible location, they were repairing the room above and the ceiling actually fell through. A horrible room.

“We got a horrible room location. We were next to an ice machine which was used all hours of the night, we were in a hallway that echoed with people talking and excited kids running to and from the pool/beach. Then at 7am they began remodeling the room upstairs, beating and banging, running "snakes" through the plumbing, cutting with some loud machine, it was horrible. But, you know, I was OK with it since we were checking out that morning. I let it go and my wife and I actually laughed it off because we had not had one wink of sleep and it was just such a bad experience. It reminded me of the move Summer Rental. But, I was OK until I was sitting in the bathroom and the ceiling actually started falling through on my head. Dust and debris actually FELL ON MY HEAD! Well, that sent me into a whole new level. I contacted the manager when we left and all he could say was sorry. I was very disappointed with our room location at the hotel. I would like to be contacted about the situation because I feel that someone should explain to me exactly how rooms are distributed when you get to a hotel. ”

• It was clean, in a great location, loved the pool area that was outside some rooms back door.
• I asked for a king size bed before arrival and didn't get one.

“I was very pleased with the price they accepted for a two night stay. Due to the activities I had planned while in Fort Walton I really didn't have time to enjoy most of the amenities the hotel offered, but would definitely go back just for some pool and beach time!”

• The ONLY thing I didn't like was paying for the beach chairs.

“It was a great stay for the 4th of July. looked one direction and watched the fire works from fort Walton, turned my chair around and watched the show from destine. making plans to do the same thing same place next year. good clean hotel with a lot to offer and more fun than a condo!”

• Aside from the rooms, the hotel is very nice.
• The rooms were sketchy and overpriced.

“I'm ambivalent about my stay here. On one hand, the gulf was beautiful and we were greeted by dolphins every morning and the gardens and pool were really nice and the on campus restaurant was decent and relatively cheap. They have made it so that you really don't have to leave the complex. Also it is next to a national seashore so it isn't all jam-packed and sandwiched in between a bunch of hotels and condos. Even the gulf view rooms are that same room (except for a private balcony and a door that opens into an inside hallway) except like three hundred a night. I guess that is the result of hurricanes and insurance rates. So the experience was good but the room was a tiny, sketchy, cheap room that you probably aren't going to spend much time in anyway. The bathroom was so small it was practically a "head". Each adult gets a wristband where they can identify themselves as a guest and each car gets a golden parking pass ticket, so don't think you are going to shove eight people in the room for a cheap week of beach and booze. They did seem to go out of their way to avoid the spring break crowd. I saw mostly families with young children during my stay. Next time I'd like to try a condo, but after that for the price. I'd probably try the Ramada again and consider it to be like Disney where you just use the room to sleep.”

• Clean, professional, nicely located.
• Too many kids. We were given a room just outside the kids pool. If 2 adults are registering why would you put them in the middle of a bunch of kids.

“Although the room itself was a very nice size, the bathroom was smaller than any Hotel I had ever stayed in. There was no outer vanity area so even though there were just 2 of us we could not be in the bathroom at the same time. This was a major draw back for me. Also this Hotel didn't even offer a free continental breakfast. No Concierge to help with any information... front desk personnel very young and lacked knowledge of general area. Way too many children for my taste. Don't get me wrong I love children but when the wife and I want to get away we don't want to be in the middle of kids.”

“This was a nice hotel that made me feel like I was staying in a resort. The hotel has been obviously remolded since the hurricanes. It offers entertainment for children and adults, we are looking forward to staying there again.”

• The location of the hotel was very nice, beaches were great.
• A lot of the guests were very noisy and impolite. The internet connection would constantly cut off.

• New lobby had excellent look.
• it was on a motel style which I did not expect, rooms were outdoors not inside like a hotel. It was noisy, dirty and not easily accessible to take lug.

• This is an older hotel, not as clean and well kept as I would have liked.
