“We liked our stay, would stay there again.” Aug 12, 2009 by
Rena from Atlanta,GA
“Room was clean with great views of pool & gulf! Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable front desk staff! The grill person and bartender were amazing people! They always smiled, gave efficient, excellent service and in the middle of the heat, rain, and sometimes strong wind! I don't think I could be as gracious even if I were paid well :) Overall, it was a great experience and the children LOVED it! We may be back next month.” May 9, 2009 by
Chris from Salinas,CA
“The hotel was very nice and in a beautiful location, the room I stayed in was literally next to the beach. the hotel was off any of the main drags in the area which made it easier to get in and out of the parking lot.” Feb 5, 2009 by
David from Munford,TN
“Overall a good experience, housekeeping was excellent but the room seemed small and cramped.” Feb 5, 2009 by
Shirley from Grand Junction,CO
“The location was impressive. The beach was beautiful.” Nov 6, 2008 by
“The rooms were perfect. When we arrived our room did not meet our expectations. We brought it to the attention of the front desk and immediately they meet our needs.” Oct 23, 2008 by

“I would definitely choose this hotel again! The beach is beautiful and the hotel itself is beautiful. The king size bed that we had was absolutely the best hotel bed I have ever slept in - luxurious pillows and a down comforter to boot, so soft and nothing scratchy like you're used to seeing in hotel beds. The carpet was nice, too, which is rare. Also I loved having a stand-in shower as well as a separate tub (which we didn't use, but it's good for putting all the sandy toys and wet bathing suits and stuff in). This hotel was perfect for us, but our room was in a horrible location - right off the lobby and sunken down like a basement, so when we walk out onto the porch it's actually lower than the pool, so you're looking up at the pool and there is no beach view or anything at all.” Aug 30, 2008 by
Jack from Mountain Grove, MO
“We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon. It was very romantic and an overall very enjoyable stay. The room was very comfortable and overlooked the ocean. We had an awesome time. It is also a short driving distance to area attractions. We already have plans to come back next year for our anniversary.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Gabriel from Ottawa, ON CA
“This hotel is far overpriced for a low quality, decrepit hotel with few amenities. The only plus of this hotel is the location, but there are better beaches and hotels nearby. The staff is nice and seem well intentioned, but ill informed. They had no idea regarding local information and did not even know that where the brochures were in their lobby.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Ilse from Smyrna, GA
“We wouldn't recommend it. Everything looks dated. You can't take pool towels to the beach (so we had to buy beach towels). The music in the pool and in the restaurant was all 80's.Two good things: umbrella and chairs at the beach were complimentary and the waiters in the restaurant were friendly.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Karen from Kathleen, GA
“Not very impressed with staff, asked for the address for a particular place to eat, she said she didn't know the address, told me I could use the computer in lobby to look it up. I thought she was kidding, and said so, she ended up looking it up for me. Very unwilling to help. Same night, wanted a drink from the bar near the pool, bartender said she didn't have 3 of the 4 ingredients to make drink, but I could go inside and order it. I felt she should have called and had a supervisor get what she needed. The whole idea of me ordering a drink by the pool was so I could watch my kids in the pool. Overall, not happy with service. As mentioned before, we were right across from the electric room for the elevator, very loud, all night, I think the elevator was on a timer or something. The room really should be an office, or used for storage or housekeeping.” Jul 20, 2008 by
Anne from Atlanta, GA
“Hotel room was spacious, free beach chairs and umbrellas were convenient, poolside tiki bar was great.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Susan from Conyers, GA
“The hotel was clean and the beds very comfortable. The bed linens included a duvet which I love. The bartender was first rate at the outside bar. The drinks were a little pricey, but that is to be expected. There are quite a few good restaurants close by. The beach area is awesome.” Dec 1, 2007 by
Winnie from Jonesborough, TN
“It was a very nice hotel, without housekeeping beating on your door at the break of day, demanding to clean your room. The double beds, regular size, were not comfortable for me and my husband, but next time I will make sure I book a bigger bed. We felt very safe at the hotel and will visit it again in the near future.” Oct 20, 2007 by
Shannon from Baton Rouge, LA
“Wonderfully surprised at the quality, cleanliness and comfort of this hotel one of the nicest by far that I have been in a long time over many 5 star rated upscale establishments. Wonderful stay and even better were the staff and the price. Will stay again! Couldn't be happier.” Aug 8, 2007 by

“The hotel was great. Staff was helpful when needed. The kids loved the pool area. Very kid friendly atmosphere with all the different activities. We loved bingo, the pool with slide and movie night!” Jul 23, 2007 by

“Great location, if you like an excellent beach front location away from busy highways around Destin. The best sand in the world, sugar like, and cool on your feet vs. hot foot on the east coast of Florida. You get an umbrella and 2 chairs with your room another great feature, although they take them up starting about 4:00 pm. The rooms are what you would expect with an older Holiday Inn. The employees try hard to please, but we had to wait until almost 4:00 pm to check in because our room wasn't clean, then the next morning they were knock at 9:30am to clean the room. Room service is quick, the food was ok. The mattress are hard as a rock. Having said that, the hotel has a lot of activities for smaller kids, a nice pool with a slide and great views. I would stay there again if the price was right.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Greg B. from Gretna, LA
“Near the beach (on the beach!) Run down old tired hotel the staff tries but not much to work with. I had a great time as I just went there to go swimming and the beach sand is world class!” Jun 25, 2007 by

“My girlfriend and I stayed at the Sunspree in PCB. Rooms were small and beds and sheets worn out. A cleaning lady and her son vaccumed our room for 20 min and the vaccum cleaner was sooo old. I won't stay there again in my lifetime.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Apr 19, 2007 by

“The hotel is right on the beach and provides beach chairs and umbrellas making going to the beach easy. Good place for short stay.” Apr 9, 2007 by
Meredith from Evans, GA
“The hotel was okay. The air conditioner went out the second day, but was fixed promptly. Our room was left uncleaned one day, but the hotel let us have a free breakfast the next day. The beach was beautiful!” Apr 5, 2007 by
Clint from La Vergne, TN
“This hotel is great for a couple that wants to get away and spend time on the beach. Rooms are a little small but they're comfortable and clean. You shouldn't be sitting in your hotel room anyway. It's a great beach. White sand, clean, just a short walk from your hotel room door. Hotel restaurant is good. There is a variety of place to eat if you make the 5 minute drive. I'd love to go back to the Walton. We had a wonderful time.” Apr 3, 2007 by
Tessa from Theodore, AL
“This hotel was great to stay at for the price. The bed and linens seemed to be low quality though. It is right on the beach and with a room with a gulf view; you can listen to the waves crashing in. They provide chairs and umbrella for free for the beach and you pretty much have the beach to yourself (and the other hotel guest). There is a huge emphasis on kids and there are always kid activities going on. There is a restaurant on the premises but the rest of the restaurants are a little more than walking distance from the hotel. Overall a great stay and worth the money.” Sep 29, 2006 by

“I did not get to stay in a hotel. I am a pilot and the plane that I was going to use to fly down to Dustin, FL. went down for repairs and I could not fly. ” 0 of 2 people found this review helpful.Jul 14, 2005 by

“My family stayed at this hotel in June for a week. We really enjoyed the kids activites and pool areas. Of course the beaches are beautiful but the pools were great when the surf got rough. We enjoyed the pool side movies with popcorn very much. I like that there was an on sight restaurant as well a variety of restaurants in the area. We have a great ime on the free kayaks and surf boards.
