• I Liked the location
• Employees Sneaking in and out of the rooms during the day

“Working at night and sleeping during the day, I caught 3 different hotel employees on 2 different days trying to sneak into my room when they thought I was out for the day. The receptionists are rude to the guests and will not give you extra bath soap or anything for cleaning dishes.Very Poor customer service at this hotel.Stay for the location (easy on/off freeway), but it is a good idea to put a chair blocking the door while showering if you are a solo traveller.”

• My room said Queen bed, but I had a double and there were two of us.

• It was cheap and clean and safe.
• The air conditioner could not be put on fan only and clicked on and off all night.

“Clean, safe and quiet. The only problem we had was the air conditioner couldn't be put on fan only, and the air clicked on and off all night which made it hard to sleep, since we always sleep with the fan on. But to make it clear the temperature of the room was fine, we just like the noise of the fan to drown out other little sounds.”

• Location.
• The room given to us had not been cleaned since last guest.

“Location was great. Rooms were basic but fine for a place to just sleep the night. I was not at all impressed with the employees. When we went to our assigned room the bed was unmade and the ironing board was out in the middle of the room. Either they gave us another person's room or had not cleaned the room for us. The boy working the desk did not seem surprised at all and gave us another room.

• Only the staff.
• It was not a real hotel-extended stay place-no ice machine, no shampoos, etc.

“It is for people that need a place to stay for a time. It has fridge, microwave, stove. We didn't need that. The mattress was not comfortable. Air was good! No pool, no ice machine anywhere, no shampoos, or toiletries in sight. Only some coffee and a small bar soap. Musty smelling.”

“The rooms are very small and there is very little cooking equipment in the kitchen. No breakfast was provided. Therefore, this is not a good choice for a residence hotel.”

• Desk manager was friendly and tried to accommodate our requests.
• Non-smoking rooms were not - smelled like leftover cigarettes.

“The first room smelled of cigarettes. The non-smoking emblem had probably been removed from outside the door, so previous guests had obviously smoked in the room. We changed rooms, and again, were assigned a "non-smoking" room, but again, the emblem had been removed from outside the door and the room stunk. We gave up in exhaustion (it was already late at night). Hotel had no ice machine and no shampoo in the room. Very disappointing overall.”

• I kept having to extend my stay, and the staff was very understanding and allowed me to keep my same room.
• Housekeeping cleaned my room the day before I left even though I had been there a little over two weeks.

“It was a very nice place to stay. Like a home away from home. I would look forward to coming back and laying down after a long day at work. I would stay there again.”

• The hotel staff was incredibly rude.

“I would not stay at the hotel ever! The hotel staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful. The bathroom was very dirty and moldy. They did not provide shampoo. It was hard to sleep because the room was very humid and damp. I do not recommend this hotel. Your money would be better spent somewhere else.”

• Lobby closed, had to call and wait 10 minutes to check in.

“Decent room with a nice bed and not too loud. Was able to get a good nights sleep. Bathroom area was fair. I will say toilet paper better than the usual cheap stuff. Downside was the lobby closed at 11:00 and I checked in around 11:45 which meant I had to call the after hours phone and wait 10 minutes to check in.”

• No pool. Impossible to find. Very small room. No services.

“I was very unhappy with the hotel. I was not expecting an extended stay and it was supposed to be a two star hotel, which it was not. Very tiny room with one double bed, which was very hard and uncomfortable. It was nice having the fridge in the room. We spent an hour driving around trying to find the hotel. We called the office twice and the attendant did not know how to helps get there and gave us wrong directions, informing us that she wasn't from around here. I am disappointed.”

• The hotel staff were very friendly and most helpful.
• The dishes in the kitchen were not clean.

“The hotel surpassed my expectations and I was relieved upon arrival, especially, since I was traveling with my 2 children. The only unpleasant experience was that very early each morning, there were crews of men going to work who were very loud just outside our room. They woke up my 3 year old son everyday. Not good!”

• There were a lot of TV stations to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful.
• I did not think my hotel room was very impressive,

“I did not like the parking set up at this hotel. The carpet in my room looked as if it needed professional cleaning to remove a stain / spill. I had an issue trying to get a shower (I never figured out how to get the shower to come on). After staying in this hotel I thought I would try for a higher star level next time I am staying in the area. I will say that the staff was very friendly and helpful.”

We frequently had issues with our room along with having clean towels and things of that nature. The appearance is ok; it did not make up not want to stay there. The room sizes are alright. They all come with a small kitchenette.”

“Staff was superb and accommodating. I inadvertently left a pair of dress shoes in my room and the wonderful attendant turned them into the office where I today picked them up. Wonderful honest try and integrity! Hope I always can stay here when I'm on business in Birmingham. Keep up the splendid work!”

• One big bed, for 3, took 30 minutes to get room with guaranteed reservation. Room was not what was booked. Extremely disappointing.

“If you check in late, you better make sure you called ahead and have the room as expected. They are very unwilling to change anything. They expect everyone out by 11 AM no exceptions.”

• Location was convenient to major interstate and high end shopping.
• No apparent soundproofing mattress very uncomfortable, mold in bathroom, not secured against rowdy trespassers.

“If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, come here, but don't expect a good night's rest. Every sound from your neighbor is echoed through the paper thin walls, the mattress has more lumps than my ex-wife's gravy, and the bathroom had mold growing in the bathtub. Towels were stained with God knows what, cleaned God knows when.”

• The staff! They went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay great.
• The water pressure in the shower was extremely poor.

“This hotel has an excellent staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The single rooms with a queen-size bed were comfortable. There was a good size refrigerator and microwave in the room and we were glad to have a fairly large space on which to eat. The only thing that needs to be improved is the water pressure in the shower, it was almost nonexistent. It is a great hotel for the value and in a very accessible location.”

• Staff called me minutes after I checked into my room to make sure everything was okay.
• The shower curtain had a sour smell to it.

“I had a good experience at this hotel. The front desk called me just minutes after I got into my room to make sure everything was okay. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. This would be a great place to stay for an extended amount of time. The room was fairly quiet but there was no one staying in the rooms next to me. Outside noise was fairly easy to hear.”

“This hotel is in a nice part of B'ham so we expected a clean, nice facility. It was dirty, and unkempt. The first room we were in was nonsmoking room that was obviously smoked in. We changed but the new room was Nasty too. There was mold in the shower, no cups or coffee, the coffee pot was dirty, the linens were worn and the bed spreads were gross.”

“I have stayed in this hotel several times over the past years and expected it to appear "run down". I was happily surprised to feel as though it were almost new very warm and welcoming! The staff was pleasant and helpful. It was like having "my own space" for six days! I look forward to staying there again.”
