- Convenient location.
- Way too loud.
“The hotel is connected to some type of center that holds concerts. The night we stayed people were coming into the main area of the hotel after the concert. They yelled and screamed until 2 am in the morning. We called the front desk and they said security was already there trying to get people in their rooms. The next morning upon check out, no one dared asked us about our stay. I got a good deal. I would never recommend the Sheraton in Birmingham to ANYONE!”

- Staff was 5-star and loved Internet access.
- Bartender at Sports Cafe ignored me for 20 min. Never was served. Hotel staff took care of me.
“The staff is great at this hotel, from the person on the phone, to the doormen, to the registration desk, to the concierge. Loved that, made you feel at home! Also loved the fact that they had Internet access for guests to use free of charge. I felt safe there even at 5 am., sitting outside of the hotel.”

- The hotel staff and valet attendants were very helpful and friendly.
“The hotel overall was very clean, comfortable, and friendly. The restaurant prices were over the top expensive. Also $5.00 for one Budweiser (a little much). For the price of the room you would think that some kind of complimentary breakfast would be offered. Other than those few things my stay was very good.”

- Huge hotel-- ask for a room in the section with the open atrium off street parking across from hotel 25 cents for 4 hours free after 6pm.
- Hallway leading to pool smelled old damp and musty, but pool area nice.
“Nice hotel immediately off interstate. Almost two hotels attached to a main reception area. The area to the left of the entrance is where you want to stay. All rooms have a view of Birmingham on one side and open to an indoor atrium with several restaurants and a small shop.”

- It was right across the street from the Jonas Brothers concert venue.
- The room was a liitle warm.

“I would not select the Sheraton at the Birmingham location. The check in was awful, with no staff, and a long waiting line. At 10:30 pm at night! The location of the check in was horrible for the location of the elevators. The USA today's were outdated by a few days! Completely insufficient for a business traveler. You could do so so much with this location across from civic center.”

“The hotel stay was very disappointing! The room doors slam, only one of three elevators were working which meant we spent most of our time waiting for elevators that were always packed. The morning buffet was cold food and expensive.”

- Outstanding staff and public areas. Sports bar there has an awesome philly cheese steak.
- Sheets had holes and mattress pad had stain on it. Immediately received a new room with apologies. New room was perfect.

- The Sheraton Birmingham had wonderful, helpful staff. The room was comfortable and clean. I got alot more from this hotel than I expected.
- The only unfortunate part of my stay was that the escalator to the lobby was out of order but it did not hinder us to much.
“The Birmingham Sheraton was a fantastic hotel. The service from the staff was friendly and helpful. They really went out if their way to please us. The location is in the heart of everything Birmingham has to offer. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone headed that way!”

- The hotel was beautifully decorated, and very friendly.
- The rooms have thin walls, I could hear conversations from the next room.
“The hotel was perfectly located for going to the BJCC. The lobby was impressive, as was the entire hotel. The rooms have a good fresh smell to them. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was done in marble and I loved the magnifying hand mirror attached to the wall. The walls were thin. I could hear the neighbor's conversations at normal voice levels and shutting of the doors from my room. The noise woke me up. Otherwise, I do recommend this hotel to others. Very beautiful and centrally located.”

- The bed was really comfortable.
- There was no hot water at 10 A.M. just before checkout.
“Everything cost extra and it wasn't really that nice of a place. It was clean and neat and well appointed, but it wasn't fancy or overly special. The staff was a mixed bag of friendly, unfriendly and not very smart people, so bear in mind that you may not get the right answer the first time you ask. The hotel is very easy to get to, and the parking garage is attached to the hotel by a skyway. Be advised that you will have to carry your bags about 1/4 mile to get to the front desk unless you use the valet at $20 per night. All in all, I don't think that I will ever stay in this hotel again, but I wouldn't tell people to avoid it. My room had a very comfortable bed, and I slept well. Other than that, there is very little else that I can compliment.”

- Check in - fast and easy.
- Staff was always talking to each other instead of guests.
“Bed was comfortable. Shower heads need to have more water pressure. Staff was nice when engaged, but it usually took me walking up to them to get their attention because they were always standing in groups of two/three having discussions of personal nature. Once they knew I needed help, they were quick to respond, but the service could be more proactive for a hotel of this type.”

- The atrium was awesome - very cool. It was easy to get to off of the interstate. The rooms were very nice -.
- There are no restaurants close to the hotel and the hotel restaurants are very expensive. The worst thing is that you have pay $7 a night to park.

- When we arrived mid afternoon, there was nobody at the reception desk to check us in.
“This is a seedy Sheraton, not at all like Sheratons I've visited in the past. My husband and I arrived mid afternoon on a Monday and could not find anyone to check us in; the lobby was deserted. Someone eventually showed up and we checked in. Our room was unremarkable and stuffy with an unappealing view of the hotel parking ramp and nearby highways. We went out later for dinner, and when we returned around 9 p.m. we had to walk down an escalator near the parking garage; it had been turned off for the night. The lobby smelled funky (cleaning product?) and carpeting looked stained throughout. The elevator went only to the second floor and she could not figure out how to get our luggage to the first floor. I took an escalator to the lobby and waited about ten minutes for her. She had to find the elevator from the second to the first floor; she didn't know where it was.”

- The hotel staff needs a seminar on talking to the guests. They have verged on being rude.
“The check in was smooth, and the room was very nice- no complaints there. But, for an upscale hotel, the staff has no idea how to respond politely to any requests. Whether it's for directions or to call a cab, I mean just the simple stuff. Attitude is everything.”
