• Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.
• Facilities were in extreme need of an update.

“While the hotel was clean, and the hotel staff was friendly, the hotel itself was in very poor shape. Decor was extremely dated, paint was peeling, furniture was obviously old. Also, there was no shampoo in my room. I had to call to have some delivered. Having to wait for this put me behind schedule and caused me to miss breakfast. Location and staff was good, but the facility itself was extremely shabby.”

• Elevator was disgusting!!

“When we returned on the night of our second stay we discovered that we had no towels and no shower curtain. I am glad to know that they wash them, but it was inconvenient to have to wait for those things especially when trying to manage with a young child.”

• Great location to shopping and dining.
• Better parking is needed.

“The beds were very soft and comfortable. It provides a nice breakfast including a waffle station. The staff was friendly and helpful with providing directions. There is a pool and a gazabo that was nice to gather around. It is in a great location and provided some privacy from the busy highway. It has wonderful dining options that are actually in walking distance from the hotel itself. Shopping is close with lots of options as well. We would stay there again as it is family friendly and pet friendly as well.”

• Close to freeway.
• It stank in the hallways and in the room like very old dirty rug though it didn't look old.

“There were toe-nail clippings by the head of the bed, when the cleaning woman came to vacuum it the vacuum was filthy, dusty and smelly. No maintenance at all.”

• Elevator didn't work on our floor. Staff helpful.

“The hotel was actually much nicer than I had expected! Everything was very clean and nicely arranged. Nice TV, super soft bed and recliner! Only problem was elevator which was not working on our floor, but the staff got right on the problem and were very apologetic and concerned! Definitely would stay again!”

• The rooms were spacious.
• The security door did not lock, so anyone could get into the hotel from the side; double beds need to be queen size beds.

“The hotel had curb appeal. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms (2) that we booked were side by side and quite large, large enough to fit two queen size beds instead of doubles. The only negative comment would be that the side door to the hotel was not secure. The door did not lock and you did not have to have a hotel key to enter the hotel. Management was made aware of the problem, yet it still existed the next morning.”

• I love the location, price and it was very very very clean which I love the most. The employees where great and the all smile and said hello.
• The bed was a little too hard.

• I loved the quality I got for the price of the room and the staff was wonderful.
• I had a bit of a problem with one of the back doors locking in middle of day and elevator.

• The continental breakfast was excellent because I was traveling with my children and it saved me some money.
• The other adults in the hotel complained about the noise of the children but there were animals barking all the time.

“I thought the hotel was excellent for me and my teenage children. We really enjoyed the whole experience and it was very convenient to all the shopping malls.”

• Low pressure toilets had to be flushed many times.

“Our stay at La Quinta in Homewood was beyond expectations. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and always accommodating. The rooms were spacious and clean, with big bathrooms. We were so happy and comfortable. The only problem we had was with the "low water use" toilets. We had to flush them many times to get them to work, which kind of defeats the purpose. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. They are very family friendly, and even allow pets!”

• Excellent! Clean, friendly, convenience & yummy hot breakfast.
• Low-water toilets are kind of annoying, had to flush many times.

“We were so incredibly pleased with this hotel. The hotel is fairly new, extremely clean and well kept, the staff is top-notch and knowledgeable, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and the location is convenient to everything we needed. They are pet and kid friendly. The only kind of bad thing I can think to report are the "low water use" toilets that are in the bathrooms are kind of annoying because we had to flush multiple times, which kind of defeats the purpose I guess. I would suggest this hotel to anyone staying in the area. You won't be disappointed.”

• I was put in a smoking room by mistake but the staff corrected it immediately.
• Tub was old- needs new caulk and a good cleaning.

“The first thing I noticed was that the lady, who checked me in, was wearing a shirt that appeared to have a bunch of stains on it. She just didn't look very professional at all and that should have been my first clue. My first room had 2 double beds (hard as a rock, I might add!) And both beds were made up without a fitted sheet. I called the front desk and they moved me to another room down the hall. Upon inspection, I found that one of those beds had been made up in the same way. But since the other bed in that room had been outfitted properly with a fitted and a flat sheet, I decided to just stay there. The room was clean enough but had that stale unpleasant smell that you find sometimes in cheaper hotels and the elevator ride was very exciting. You were never quite sure when (or if) it was going to actually open. The breakfast the next morning was actually quite nice. (Better than some others I¿ve had.) The doors to the rooms are built in at an angle which seems to magnify the hallway noise. There were at least 2 times that I woke up pretty startled because it sounded like someone was coming straight into my room. I didn't sleep well at all. However, the shower was nice and cleans with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I just felt like the room was overpriced a bit and do not plan on staying there in the future.”

“The only thing I found that was bad was that the hair drier and the coffee maker did not work. Everything else was nice. The rooms were clean and nice.”

• The location was very good and the rooms are large.
• There was unpleasant smell in the room and hallway. And the house keeping staff could not speak any English.

“One the best qualities of this hotel was the nice size of the rooms. Altough there was unpleasant smell in hallway caused by mildew, the hotel was clean. It is frustrating that the hotel maids cannot speak any English, makes it difficult to even ask for free towels. The hotel is located near several restaurants and shopping.”

• The hotel exceeded my expectations and previous experiences at other LaQuitas. It was very friendly, clean and quiet.

“I was very impressed with out night at the LaQuinta in Bham (Homewood) We are relocating to the area and found this perfect for our look see experience. The breakfast offered was great and much more extensive than I figured. The staff was pleasant and helpful on directions. Our room was great and very quiet. Perfect first impression to the area.”

• The rooms were nice and the bathrooms were very spacious.
• The staff at the front desk are very rude, not attentive and argumentative. They do not smile or look at the customers.

“The hotel and its location is very nice. The rooms are clean and the housekeeping staff is very nice. If you can disregard the rude employees at the front desk who apparently have forgotten that the guests are the reason why they have a job in the first place then you should have a very nice stay.”

“The bathroom in my hotel room was extremely filthy. It did not appear to have been cleaned. There was trash in the floor and hair in and around the bathtub. I called the front desk, only to be told "we're sorry". I was never offered another room or for someone to come clean the room. Also, there was not enough adequate parking. I had to park across the street in another hotel's parking lot.”
