“While the hotel was clean, and the hotel staff was friendly, the hotel itself was in very poor shape. Decor was extremely dated, paint was peeling, furniture was obviously old. Also, there was no shampoo in my room. I had to call to have some delivered. Having to wait for this put me behind schedule and caused me to miss breakfast. Location and staff was good, but the facility itself was extremely shabby.” Jun 30, 2009 by
Dawn from Chalmette,LA
“The hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. The rooms are really big so you don't feel like you are being stuffed into a small space.” Jun 19, 2009 by
John from Birmingham,AL
“Me and my wife spent a honeymoon night there, had small problem with room we pick, staff/management did every thing in their will to correct issue upgrade me to another room and had a wonder time recommend to my friends or any one I hear asking about La Quinta hotels.” Mar 5, 2009 by
Leon from Winchester,TN
“Had a great stay except the thermostat did not control the wall unit very well.” Dec 31, 2008 by
Lynn from Cleveland,OH
“When we returned on the night of our second stay we discovered that we had no towels and no shower curtain. I am glad to know that they wash them, but it was inconvenient to have to wait for those things especially when trying to manage with a young child.” Nov 5, 2008 by

“The beds were very soft and comfortable. It provides a nice breakfast including a waffle station. The staff was friendly and helpful with providing directions. There is a pool and a gazabo that was nice to gather around. It is in a great location and provided some privacy from the busy highway. It has wonderful dining options that are actually in walking distance from the hotel itself. Shopping is close with lots of options as well. We would stay there again as it is family friendly and pet friendly as well.” Jun 30, 2008 by
Michael J. from Tuscaloosa, AL
“Great for the price and location. Breakfast included was great addition.” May 30, 2008 by
Carol from San Francisco, CA
“There were toe-nail clippings by the head of the bed, when the cleaning woman came to vacuum it the vacuum was filthy, dusty and smelly. No maintenance at all.” May 8, 2008 by
Nancy from Auburn, AL
“The hotel was actually much nicer than I had expected! Everything was very clean and nicely arranged. Nice TV, super soft bed and recliner! Only problem was elevator which was not working on our floor, but the staff got right on the problem and were very apologetic and concerned! Definitely would stay again!” Apr 14, 2008 by
Reba from Wingo, KY
“The hotel had curb appeal. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooms (2) that we booked were side by side and quite large, large enough to fit two queen size beds instead of doubles. The only negative comment would be that the side door to the hotel was not secure. The door did not lock and you did not have to have a hotel key to enter the hotel. Management was made aware of the problem, yet it still existed the next morning.” Mar 13, 2008 by
John from San Leandro, CA
“Everything was fine. Nice grounds. Nice staff. Good experience!” Feb 20, 2008 by

“Our stay at La Quinta in Homewood was beyond expectations. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and always accommodating. The rooms were spacious and clean, with big bathrooms. We were so happy and comfortable. The only problem we had was with the "low water use" toilets. We had to flush them many times to get them to work, which kind of defeats the purpose. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. They are very family friendly, and even allow pets!” Nov 25, 2007 by

“We were so incredibly pleased with this hotel. The hotel is fairly new, extremely clean and well kept, the staff is top-notch and knowledgeable, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and the location is convenient to everything we needed. They are pet and kid friendly. The only kind of bad thing I can think to report are the "low water use" toilets that are in the bathrooms are kind of annoying because we had to flush multiple times, which kind of defeats the purpose I guess. I would suggest this hotel to anyone staying in the area. You won't be disappointed.” Sep 26, 2007 by
Leslie from Gulf Shores, AL
“The staff was so friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast was in a clean environment with helpful people who immediately refilled items that were in low supply. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.” May 2, 2007 by
Candace from Coldwater, MS
“The staff was very friendly & helpful. The rooms were clean and the courtyard was nice. We had our two children ages 8 & 10 with us and they enjoyed the pool. I would recommend this hotel.” Mar 3, 2007 by

“A somewhat good deal for your money but could be improved.” Nov 3, 2006 by
Debbra from Hartselle, AL
“The first thing I noticed was that the lady, who checked me in, was wearing a shirt that appeared to have a bunch of stains on it. She just didn't look very professional at all and that should have been my first clue. My first room had 2 double beds (hard as a rock, I might add!) And both beds were made up without a fitted sheet. I called the front desk and they moved me to another room down the hall. Upon inspection, I found that one of those beds had been made up in the same way. But since the other bed in that room had been outfitted properly with a fitted and a flat sheet, I decided to just stay there. The room was clean enough but had that stale unpleasant smell that you find sometimes in cheaper hotels and the elevator ride was very exciting. You were never quite sure when (or if) it was going to actually open. The breakfast the next morning was actually quite nice. (Better than some others Iżve had.) The doors to the rooms are built in at an angle which seems to magnify the hallway noise. There were at least 2 times that I woke up pretty startled because it sounded like someone was coming straight into my room. I didn't sleep well at all. However, the shower was nice and cleans with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I just felt like the room was overpriced a bit and do not plan on staying there in the future.” Sep 5, 2006 by

“The only thing I found that was bad was that the hair drier and the coffee maker did not work. Everything else was nice. The rooms were clean and nice.” May 31, 2006 by
Kenneth from Chattanooga, TN
“Good Location, Clean Rooms, Convenient Location.” Jun 15, 2005 by
Robert from Decatur, AL
“One the best qualities of this hotel was the nice size of the rooms. Altough there was unpleasant smell in hallway caused by mildew, the hotel was clean. It is frustrating that the hotel maids cannot speak any English, makes it difficult to even ask for free towels. The hotel is located near several restaurants and shopping.” May 18, 2005 by
Maxine from Tacoma, WA
“I was very impressed with out night at the LaQuinta in Bham (Homewood) We are relocating to the area and found this perfect for our look see experience. The breakfast offered was great and much more extensive than I figured. The staff was pleasant and helpful on directions. Our room was great and very quiet. Perfect first impression to the area.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 12, 2005 by

“The hotel and its location is very nice. The rooms are clean and the housekeeping staff is very nice. If you can disregard the rude employees at the front desk who apparently have forgotten that the guests are the reason why they have a job in the first place then you should have a very nice stay.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Apr 19, 2005 by

“It was clean, however the staff seemed not to be knowledgeable in obtaining supplies for room. They said they had trouble obtaining cleaning people.” Apr 14, 2005 by
Randy from Dothan, AL
“I had a great stay. The bed was very comfortable, I got a terrific rate, better than cheap tickets, and the hotel was a lot nicer. It was right in the area I needed to be.” Feb 13, 2005 by

“This hotel is highly recommended by me! The staff was the best I've seen in a long time. They really went the extra mile. The rooms were clean and attractive. Has outdoor whirlpool and exercise room. Breakfast was great!” Dec 18, 2004 by
Nathan M. from Dallas “Rooms were brand-new appearing. Free breakfast. Great place.” Nov 11, 2004 by
“The hotel was really nice and was in a well lighted area. The breakfast buffet was very good all of the staff was good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay at this hotel again.” Nov 10, 2004 by
“The bathroom in my hotel room was extremely filthy. It did not appear to have been cleaned. There was trash in the floor and hair in and around the bathtub. I called the front desk, only to be told "we're sorry". I was never offered another room or for someone to come clean the room. Also, there was not enough adequate parking. I had to park across the street in another hotel's parking lot.” Oct 21, 2004 by
“Excellent breakfast, Free high speed internet. Only complaint was that the beds were a bit hard.”
