• The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
• The outdoor pool and the semi-truck environment next to the highway seemed like a truck stop.

“For a 2-star hotel, it was right one. I could not find a 2.5 star hotel, so I went to 2-star and this is what came up. It was exactly what we expected, and if the pool had been indoor and it had not been nestled between construction and a major highway, it would have been nice. The staff was helpful, the room was clean, the air was cold, the water was hot, and the TV had a good number of clear channels. No complaints!”

“The hotel is located right off of the interstate, so it is not that hard to find. It was just an average hotel, but it seemed like the guests that frequent the hotel are not there for business and more there for leisure.”

• Waitress in restaurant was very helpful with menu. Huge portions for the money!
• Scary location. Hard to find coming from the South. Scary people. Strip Joint down road. Afraid to leave room.

“As a woman traveling with two children, the other patrons were scary - large men, bikers, etc. The location was hard to find and in a creepy setting - marsh, dead trees, strip joint, firework stores. Car in parking lot had 20 or more bullet holes in it. We were afraid to leave the room which was comfortable and fit our needs. The restaurant, although not fancy, had good food and helpful, friendly staff.”

• The restaurant, breakfast, and food were good.
• The NIGHT staff.

“The room was a non smoking room adjoined to a smoking room and the first night the room reeked of cigarette smoke. Don't understand how they determined which rooms would be smoking rooms as they are marked about every other room non smoking as you walk down the hall. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS MOTEL TO ANYBODY. From the front door to the room and even in the non smoking room was smoky.”

• We were looking for something near the casino boats and this hotel was reasonably located near the boats.
• I asked for a top sheet over the blanket and they forgot to put it on.

“Hotel staff was extremely friendly. Hotel was clean and smelled very clean and nice inside of the rooms and out. Hotel is confidently located only 5 or 6 miles from the casino boats. We were very pleased with hotel, staff and stay!”

• The hotel clerk was patient enough to stay on the phone with me to tell me how to get in. The location was strange from map quest directions.

“It serves it purposes. Has internet access. Lots of channels. Big bed. Easy temp controls. Friendly staff.”

• Staff honesty, I left my ring in a previous room and when I called, housekeeping had it and returned it to me. Great.

“It was difficult to find, but thanks for the small sign on the road. I kind of found it, but did have to stop at store to ask for directions. It's a road that at night traveling alone does not feel safe.”

• Not much to do in immediate area, but casinos fairly close.

“It's close to the highway and the casinos. The room was clean as a whistle, and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. It definitely earned its two stars.”

• The location is kind of "out of the way".

“Our hotel room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the shower facilities were very nice! It was definitely a pleasant experience.”

• Poor location, office staff who gave incorrect directions for how to arrive.

“First of all, this hotel may be located in Hammond, but it is really in Gary. We were directed to the hotels in Hammond off of the toll way, then found out we had to drive another 10 miles through seedy city streets in order to get to this hotel.”

• The hotel was right off the highway and had easy on/off ramps.
• The hotel staff was neither friendly nor helpful and the restaurant should be condemned.

• Location.
• Not as modern or as clean as it could have been. Old lop-sides mattresses.

“Positive: The location is great. It is right off the expressway. They have an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, bar and grill on site. Negative: The rooms could have been better. The mattresses on the beds and linen were old and worn. Overall, for a weekend get-a-away. It was ok.”

• Very clean and all halls were pretty good scented during the day.
• A dog was barking in a room, a guest got ice from a vending machine for 2 whole nights (noisy) and my room still got some smoke from other rooms.

“I like their cleanliness and the good scents of the halls, though the ice vending machines are too close to some rooms, so other guests could be pretty annoying using them all night long. No signs asking for respect to others rest time at night, so some guests were pretty loud in the middle of the night. The non smoking rooms still got some of the smoke from other rooms or, simply, some guests did not respect such restriction of the areas.”

• This hotel was very convenient to the expressway.
• There was an adult strip club 2 doors down, not for families!

• Decor was nice. Hallways were pretty oak but there was wasted food in one of the stairways. Not a pretty sight.
• In one: sink in room was damaged terribly!! The wall behind the sink which was the sleeping area was badly repaired. The carpet had food on it.

“It appears the hotel was in good condition, I was not entirely happy with the condition of my room. My room should have been Out of Order.”

• Though my room was non-smoking, the rooms adjoining it were not, so there was a smoking odor in my room.

• Water heater went out while I was there. Not a major concern.

• It was easy to find.
• The security, the front desk staff at check-in, no drain cover in tub.

“The front desk staff at check-in appeared to be irritated when I asked questions about how to get to different areas in town. I lost my earring down the tub drain due to there being no cover over the opening. Transients freely walked through the front doors and through the halls at all hours of the night. I did not feel safe at all.”

• There was an attendant who was very polite.
• The location is in a very inconvenient spot.

“Hotel is okay. The location is in an inconvenient place for most people. There is a truck driving school near it so it is a good location for those people, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it for anyone else.”

• Map was confusing- should have been a lot simpler, considering the road works. Not a great area to be lost in at night.

• It was clean enough and in about the right location
• Extremely difficult to find - off a very long service road.

“Hotel is more like a 1 - 1.5 star rather than 2. While it is right off the freeway, it is very difficult to get to with the complex service roads.”

• Smell - It had a perfume smell that wore off - Awful

“It had an overly perfume smell. On the second night that wore off and there was a smell like urine. I found a junebug on day two.”

• The morning desk clerk, Asha, is very personable and efficient.
• Once, we did have a room with a broken handle on the door to the room. That wasn't nice.

“Overall this is a wonderful hotel. Very nice rooms. Adequately equipped for our purpose. They are clean. One small negative would be that either I couldn't figure out how to work the air conditioning unit or it did not work the last time we were there. other than that it was a wonderful experience. ”

• The fact they had a restaurant and lounge in the hotel.

“This hotel was a wonderful place to stay. The food at the restaurant was delicious. The lounge was a nice place to go for a game of pool or darts after work. This hotel was very clean and they come in every day to clean the rooms during the week. I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone.”
