• The hotel was centrally located to downtown Chicago.
• Although we got a good price on the room, the parking was $27 every time we left the hotel.

• The location - quite a bit away from the Miracle Mile.

“The Hyatt Regency McCormick place is a wonderful hotel: clean, well equipped, upscale bedding, nice facilities (fitness, recreation, restaurants) on site. A great option for people looking for a bit more than just a bed. I was very pleased with my stay and slept like a log. Sometimes the little things are important. The room had a mini fridge, coffee maker, iron, blow dryer and clock radio with iPod dock. Down comforter and pillows.”

• Cabs were plentiful. Coffee/tea maker was great.
• Unfriendly, quality of food was poor, room service had limited hours.

“Room service was fast, but the food was not good. Coffee shop area was not managed well and the amenities were very sparse. No microwave or fridge in the room. Concierge was not helpful.”

• Snacks (out) entire stay and no refrigerator in room.

• Staff very friendly and helpful, workout facilities clean and up-to-date.
• Housekeeping did not run the sweeper one day.

“Staff was very friendly and helpful. We were in for the Marathon and the hotel provided a shuttle for free down to the start. Very pleased except for the housekeeping, they did not run the sweeper one day and on our first day we noticed the free coffee was empty with no cups. I called guest services and they corrected the problem immediately.”

• Comfortable bed.
• No wireless internet.

“The staff were friendly and helpful. The facilities were well maintained and very comfortable. Every Motel 6 in every Podunk town from Portland ME, to Portland, OR, has free wireless internet. This 4-star facility doesn't offer wireless internet at all.”

“We traveled to the hotel via GPS and the address of the hotel takes you to a pharmaceutical company in northern Chicago area. When we called the hotel and advised that we were no where near them, they advised if we were using GPS we had to use another address. That made our check-in about 1am. At 9:30am housekeeping attempted to enter our room making the over all stay quite unpleasant.”

• Very helpful, friendly staff, early check in, easy check out, great views.
• House keeping could be better, broken ice machine.

“Spectacular city and lake view from the North side of the 33rd floor. Walking distance from the museum district and Grant Park. Pricey cab rides to the loop for food so I would suggest a CTA pass for your stay. I would return again if I am visiting venues on the south side of Chicago.”

• Great accommodations, and close to cultural center. Beautiful walking trail along the lake.
• Bad shuttle service. Took a hour to get to a location that was a little over a mile away. Driver passed our stop twice.

“Beautiful hotel within walking distance of southern Chicago landmarks. Located next to beautiful walking/biking trails along Lake Michigan, that lead to Soldier Field and Cultural Center. I would definitely stay here again.”

• The Hotel staff was very friendly and nice.

“The room I stayed was very spacious. Linen, bed and bathroom were very clean but rooms were not the best, reasonable for the price though. This hotel is located in a very quiet corner of Chicago downtown, little far from everything. The hotel staff is very friendly. I think that was the most distinguishing feature of this hotel.”

“We stayed at this hotel for our aniversary. It was fantastic. It was spotless,friendly and the food was good. It was close to all the attractions we wanted to see. I stayed here for a nurses confrence once and I will definetly go back again. My husband isn't keen on staying in Chicago but said he 'd come back here again. They upgraded our room and gave us a free breakfast. I would highly recommend this place.”

“Our experience was ok until the day we checked out! The bell boy loaded our luggage along with my sons 3 smaller bags onto the cart in front of our room. I saw with my own 2 eyes my son handing his bags to the man and the man hanging then on the cart. Somehow my sons 3 bags didn't make it to our car. When I called the hotel several hours later, when I realized we did not have them I was told to leave a message on the lost and found and they would call the the next day. No one called so I began calling the hotel and questioning them without much help until about the 3rd person I spoke with. she said she would look at the tape and see what might have happend. The only time we were not with the bell boy and our bags was for a few seconds when we walked ahead of him to the elevators. My husband and I both remember hearing our door open and close to our room but did't think too much of it at the time. I strongly believe that the three bags were thrown back into the room to be collected later by whoever!!! I did raise quiet a stink calling everyone I could think and find a number for including upper management for Hyatt Regency Inc. I was called after a few hours of waiting and told that my bags were found in our room behind a chair. This is absolutely crazy. I saw them loaded on the cart!!!!I am just thankful that they found them and sent them back. I will probably never go to a Hyatt hotel again. I will be very causious with bell boys everywhere from now on! Its too bad that one bad person has to make you suspisious of everyone!”

“This is a huge hotel located far from the best parts of downtown Chicago. I had to pay $20 each way for a cab to go to downtown Chicago. The rooms were OK, but what you'd expect from a 2 star hotel. Old TV sets in the room, no do not disturb door hanger, etc.”

• Cleaning staff was noisy early in the morning and did not do a very good job.

“Staff was nice and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were small but nice. Cleaning staff started early and were very noisy. Not that many extras - no free internet, no refrig. or microwaves in room. $3 for bottle of water.”

• There was a coffee shop in the lobby and the parking was convenient.
• Nothing.

• Location.
• No water after 11 PM.

“When we arrived we were told in short order the water would be turned off to the entire hotel from 11pm until 5am. We were stuck. We had concert tickets for 8pm. We asked for bottled water at no charge and had to wait for supervisor approval. The Priceline customer service representative, Juan, was no help and a little rude.”

• I loved that the staff supported running. I got water and a towel when finished.
• There was dirt under the chair in my room.

“This hotel is wonderful for runners. I was able to get to the lake and a trail in ten walking minutes. The fitness center was one of the best I have ever seen.”

• It was very updated and nice. The staff as very friendly and helpful.
• I was unaware of the additional $27 a day parking that was not included despite us staying at the hotel.

• It was a $5-$10 cab ride every time we wanted to get to downtown Chicago.

• The workout facility was excellent.
• The staff was rude and the beds were short sheeted.

“They do not use fitted sheets, which in any other hotel is called short-sheeting. As soon as you pull the comforter down, the sheets start coming off and before you know it, you are sleeping on bare mattress. Also, the front desk staff person who checked us in was rude.”

• Very clean. Easy access to downtown bus.
• Pool, outside of gym, was more for exercise than leisure, Nowhere near to get a good breakfast! Few if any restaurants open in nearby convention center.

“Over all, very nice, but couldn't see too much offered that a lower-star would not have offered. A bit annoying that each time TV turned on, get messages and offers of adult movies!”

• Self check-in made checking in quick.
• Parking was very expensive.

“Easy access from Lake Shore Drive & I-55. Nice clean hotel. My only problem was that hotel parking was very expensive. Valet was $36 for 24 hours with in out privileges, self-park was $14 for the 1st hour, & $25 for 24 hours.”

• The staff was the friendliest and most sincere I have come across in a very long time
• I don't believe this is a 4 star hotel - 3.5 at best, probably a 3.0

“Even though this hotel is rated as a 4.0 and probably is not I enjoyed my experience because of the excellent location, comfortable rooms and most of all to the friendly staff.”

“Beautiful view, very clean, very comfy beds, overpriced food, but that is Downtown Chicago. The bus is right out the door, you wouldn't want to take it laate at night due to the surrounding area. For business at McCormick place, great, for shoppers, not so great of a location”
