• Great location.

“We traveled with 2 smaller children and have no complaints. The hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast provided was perfect for the children. Very centrally located to be able to walk to most anything you wanted to do. Would recommend this hotel.”

• Bed and bedding was excellent.
• Bathroom (including vanity area) were very small - but super clean.

“I enjoyed this hotel. Although there was not a cafe, bar or restaurant in the hotel, there were plenty of places within one block. This was a super clean and comfortable hotel. I would definitely stay there again.”

• Great location and the front-desk staff was very friendly and great service!
• They were under rennovation and started pounding and laying carpet directly above us at 7 a.m.!

“This was a very nice moderate hotel, with great location to Michigan Avenue. The problem was that they started doing rennovations at 7a.m. in the morning. It would have been nice if they would have disclosed that at check-in. It was a very rude-awakening, making for a very tiring vacation day.”

• On checkout - failed to give us three of our bags.

“Everything was great - checked our bags with hotel upon checkout as we were still staying in the City for the day and unable to get our car out of garage due to police situation. Upon retrieving our bags they failed to return three of them and had to mail them to us.”

• Location was amazing, and staff was extremely friendly - and the free breakfast was amazing!
• The decor is too modern for my taste, too much orange.

“The location was fantastic, we walked to an excellent restaurant and to the theatre. The staff is very nice and helpful. The whole place is extremely clean and the free breakfast was perfect - so many varieties of healthy (and delicious) foods. Great experience here!”

• I liked the location of this hotel.
• I did not like that the ice machine was RIGHT in front of our door, and I was disturbed many times by guests who were getting ice at all hours.

“My sheets were stained with menstrual blood. The room next to ours was smoking marijuana and was extremely loud and the (very loud) ice machine was within reach of our door, so we were disturbed many times and at all hours of the night by guests who were getting ice. Parking was almost thirty dollars and the garage was two blocks away!”

“We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful with everything from directions to getting us a cab. The lobby was very interesting, looked very modern. The room was small, but comfortable (though the bathroom was outdated) and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great view out our window... okay, it was just a street view, but it was nice. And we were convenient to everything downtown.”

• Comfortable bed, excellent continental breakfast with many healthy choices, quiet, great location.
• Would have liked extra blankets in room.

“Good value without unnecessary frills. Room was spacious and appreciated sofa bed for extra teen. 2 huge TV's. Continental breakfast was a real treat with hot oatmeal, sausage biscuits, fruit, fresh OJ. Only negative - had to hunt down extra sheet and blankets late at night. Would have liked to find extra linens in room. Had inside room with no view but very peaceful, no outside traffic noise.”

“The Fairfield in on Ontario Street offers a clean, convenient place to stay just a couple of blocks away from Michigan Street. Travelers expecting luxury should look elsewhere, the amenities are bare-bones.”

“It's not conveniently near subway stops, it is very near other CTA options and only a short walk away from the lake, Navy Pier, and the Chicago Museum of Modern Art. If you can, you should definitely make this your residence while visiting Chi town!”

• The location was excellent and the breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations.
• The bed was not as soft as I would have liked but I slept fine.

• The items in the continental breakfast was above and beyond expectations.
• Internet access was slow, but hey, it's complimentary so can't complain.

“This is an excellent hotel, I'd definitely recommend it without hesitation. The hotel is in a great location, just 1 1/2 blocks east of Michigan Ave. Our room was clean, quiet, and everything was in good condition. The public areas are well maintained and clean. The outside of the hotel is attractive from the street. Complimentary breakfast was above and beyond what was expected. It included hot items such as make-it-yourself Belgian waffles and Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches in addition to the traditional items such as fruit, yogurt, cold cereal, pastries, and muffins. We traveled with younger children and felt right at home.”

• A little too modern - not homey feeling.

“This hotel, while on the budget side, went above our expectations. It started with the location, right off Michigan Avenue. When you walk into the lobby, it was nice. It didn't look "budget." the room was nice. It was not five star or fancy or anything, but that's not what we expected but the room was nicer than we expected and it was extremely clean. The free breakfast and breakfast room was perfect for this trip. We will definitely stay there again and we'll go to Chicago more often knowing we can stay there at a good price for a nice room.”

“We were so happy with this hotel. The decorating was very up-to-date and it was extremely clean. This is probably the first hotel I have ever stayed at where I would have felt comfortable giving my kids a bath in the bathtub - it was that clean. The location is great - close to Michigan Ave - and there are great Tapas and Thai restaurants on the next block. The next time we go to Chicago, we'll definitely stay here again.”
