• The bedding was of the utmost in comfort!
• Noisy lobby with no quiet areas. Some of the occupants in the lobby were obviously not hotel guests either.

“The lobby was dirty and noisy. There was little or no areas in the lobby of quiet space. Some of the occupants were obviously not hotel guest, rather were off the street to keep warm, taking up hotel chairs. The cost of the hotel parking was expensive. The men parking cars were however very polite and accommodating. Our room was not stocked with shampoo or toiletries. We were billed for misc. items that we did not use or eat! However, the hotel desk did remove the charges when we asked them to. Not sure if we could recommend this hotel to anyone in the future.”

• Loved the location and beds. The staff was friendly and helpful!
• The halls were slightly creepy and walls kind of thin.

“Great hotel on Michigan Ave! The walls were thin, and we could plainly hear our loud neighbors, but one call to the front desk and they immediately came up and asked them to be quite. The front desk staff was great, the beds were super comfy and the flat screens were even better. Great stay! Oh and the KC Royals stayed there!”

“Our room was very nice. We had a view of the lake, which was a pleasant surprise. We have stayed at this Westin hotel before, and the beds here are really comfortable. The safe in our room didn't work, and the hotel staff offered to allow us to switch rooms (we did not switch rooms). Other than that, perfect stay!”

• Excellent location. Great rooms. The concierge was very knowledgeable.
• All of the baggage men were unfriendly.

“This is a great hotel in a fabulous location. The Grill Restaurant has delicious food and drinks. The concierge was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations and directions. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.”

• It was the noisiness hotel I have stayed in. Could hear talking next door and doors slamming.

“They really need to do something about the noise level. There appears to be no sound protection between the rooms or hallway noise.”

• The location was great.

“This hotel was great for visiting Chicago and not spending much time in your hotel. I don't think our experience would have been as great if we spent a lot of time in this hotel. There was nothing for kids to do in the hotel.”

“This hotel offered everything from comfortable rooms, a city view, an amazing location for enjoying downtown Chicago. The staff was delightful and willing to accommodate at any measure. Hot chocolate awaited us on a blistering cold day! What a nice delightful welcome in from a chilling day!”

• Big fluffy pillows, ice machine on the floor.
• I cant believe the hotel desk had to go in the back to get me quarters.

• The friendliness of the staff, the ambiance of the lobby.
• The room needed tender loving care, the toilet backed up and the window had terrible humidity problems.

“When we walked into the hotel, we admired the calming aroma of the lobby. The cool colors continued into the room. The facility itself is very nice. But the room appeared a bit tired.”

• I did not like the fact that there are no local channels on the T.V, and there was no T.V. guide channel to tell you what was coming on next

• Proximity to Michigan Avenue shopping.
• Housekeeping knocked loudly before 8 on rooms all around us.

“This hotel is really great with nicely decorated and comfortable rooms. The room had an enormous flat screen HD television. It is perfectly located for shopping on Michigan avenue. There were a few minor disappointments. The heavenly bed isn't nearly as nice as what I remembered from other Westin hotels. The housekeeping staff went down the entire hallway knocking loudly on doors before 8AM.”

• Treated us like royalty. Moved us to "preferred members room".
• Nothing.

• Comfortable. Great location.
• Price of the overnight parking at $48/night per car. It should be free to guests.

“We had a great stay in the hotel and it was fantastic to be so close to the many sites of Chicago. The room had a nice view, the bed was huge and comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The staff was also accommodating and friendly. Only complaint was the high cost for parking at $48 per overnight stay. It should be free to guests, as they are paying to stay in the hotel.”

• Location was fantastic!
• Walls were very thin. Beds/linens were not to the standard I am used to.

“The location of this Westin was superb; however, I was disappointed in the thin walls; very loud inside and out of our room; scratchy linens. If you are looking for a fantastic location, this hotel will be perfect. But if you are looking for a tranquil, luxurious space and plan to spend a fair amount of your time in the room - I would spend the extra buck and book elsewhere.”

• Location was great.
• They did not have our room ready at 3. Had to wait till 5.

“The Westin on Michigan is a great location and with recent updates, is a nice place to stay right in the heart of the Magnificent Mile. The only issue we had was that the room was not ready at 3 pm and we were told we had to wait until 5 which put a wrinkle into our plans. We had dinner reservations and theater tickets. Suffice it to say, we had to get ready rather quickly. They promised us a complimented breakfast for the inconvenience, but we never received it.”

• Beautiful linens and towels in a very warm and comfy setting.
• Accessibility to ice machines was limited.

• The location was great.
• Most of the staff was helpful when it came to information but when you make a complaint they blow it off.

“The Westin's location is great for shopping, seeing the sights, and for simply enjoying Chicago. However, we were walked in on by the cleaning staff twice, the towels in the bathroom were severely stained, the door to the room didn't extent all the way to the floor so you heard everything that occurred in the hallways, and the sheets had pen marks on them. When we told the staff about the problems they didn't offer to move us or even change the towels and sheets all they said was that they would look into the problem. I expect more from a 4 star hotel.”

• Great location. You can park and walk everywhere. Hotel staff was very friendly.
• Very busy being right in the heart of it all.

• Good location and comfortable beds.
• Hard to get to, small rooms, walls should be a lot thicker.

“I have stayed at many 4 star hotels as well as other Westins, and in my opinion this hotel is not like them. While the location of the hotel is generally good, it is hard to drive to and park you car. The rooms were a bit small, and the walls were not thick enough - we could clearly hear the people in rooms around us as well as people in the hallway. The front desk staff was not very helpful and left people standing in line for a long time. Overall we thought this hotel was way overpriced.”

• Staff was very friendly.
• Toilet kept overflowing, was not offered different room.

“Overall, very friendly staff and the hotel was excellent, with a great location. My overall rating would have been much higher if the toilet in the room didn't keep blocking up (through not fault of our own). The staff tried to help, but we were never offered a better room or any type of compensation, even when we had to clean up a flood by ourselves.”
