“This was the first time we stayed at a Hilton. It was in a great location to the Auditorium Theatre we had tickets for, two blocks away. The hotel was decorated beautifully for the holidays and the food was fabulous. The staff was very pleasant.” Dec 9, 2009 by
Dianna from North Aurora,IL
“The hotel was beautiful, clean and all the staff we came in contact with were extremely pleasant and helpful especially Robert our bellman. We had a beautiful view of the city, and we liked that we could open the windows a bit to get fresh air! The pool closes too early we had hoped it stayed open later for adults only.” Dec 9, 2009 by
Tara from Streamwood,IL “The hotel is nicely located, but is not in the center of most shopping and attractions, but well within walking distance or a taxi ride.” Dec 1, 2009 by
Linda from Verona,MA
“An old hotel which reflects its era but has been redone so all is fresh and clean. 3000 rooms! We upgraded to a room with a view of the lake, and were given a corner room. It had a nice view of Grant Park and looking north on Michigan Ave., but was smaller than other rooms. Wonderful bed: comfortable and nice linens. Bathroom small with one sink and typical tub/shower combo and no fan, but nice granite counter top, clean, and thick towels. Plenty of nice sitting areas in the lobby and large sitting area on each floor near the elevators. Friendly staff.” Nov 23, 2009 by
Lynne from Litchfield,MN
“Very nice. However, like hotels usually do when they give you the room with the poorest view, close to the elevators, etc. I wouldn't recommend the Pavilion restaurant because it was too expensive for what you got. Also, the overnight parking was outrageously priced!” Nov 1, 2009 by
Lynn from Niles,MI

“Close to heart of downtown, rooms are nice; fitness center is very nice; restaurants were good but expensive; staff very helpful.” Oct 11, 2009 by
Jennifer from Northbrook,IL
“An older hotel but it has been kept up nicely. Furnishings are up to date and the bed was comfortable. Everything was clean. Being old, the walls and ceilings are well-built and we heard no sounds from within. However, this is the city and don't be surprised to hear sirens, trucks and garbage collection during the night. The windows open for fresh air if you want, but there are no screens.” Oct 8, 2009 by
Dan from Greenfield,WI
“Loved everything except for the cost of parking at the hotel which Oct 8, 2009 by

“The architecture of the hotel was very beautiful. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. There were several nice amenities such as water bottles and juice bottles. Our remote did not work but when I called the desk came up and replaced it promptly.” Oct 4, 2009 by

“The hotel was much suitble for my business requirements. Beyond that I was the beneficiary of great service and kind assistance at any hour.As a history buff I was privalage” Sep 29, 2009 by
David from Milwaukee,WI
“Not too bad. I think that this hotel could learn something from the Hyatt in Downtown Chicago, but it's a very old building so there's little they can do about the size of the rooms.” Sep 21, 2009 by
Bianca from Toronto,Canada
“The hotel was great. It was in a perfect location. They gave us a good room with a fantastic view.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Adam from Clarksville,TN
“Hotel was nice overall, but the rooms were kind of small. We had a king bed though. We were told the two double beds room was bigger. They also have an executive club level. Didn't see these rooms but I would imagine that they are much bigger.” Sep 4, 2009 by
Troy from Princeton,IL
“I was MORE than pleased with this hotel! Fantastic location, over the top friendly and helpful staff - I will stay at this hotel as often as I can when I'm up in Chicago and will recommend others to do the same!” Aug 21, 2009 by
Jennifer from Grand Rapids,MI
“I would not tell anyone to stay for a relaxing visit, the staff at the desk was not nice at all. Room service people were nice and food was good, but there were two spiders in our room my husband killed and make up was all over one of the pillows. The rooms were not quiet at all we could hear the concert that was going on the street from the 8th floor.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Julie from Riverside,IL

“This hotel was wonderful! It is located across from Grant Park and near many Chicago sites. The view from the hotel was tremendous, the facilities were top-notch. I'd love to stay there again! It was better than I had expected.” Aug 19, 2009 by
Rebecca from Fort Wayne,IN
“This is a beautiful, classic hotel, full of history. The grand lounges and the decor of the lobby make you feel like one of the "the rich and famous". The staff was extremely friendly, and we enjoyed our stay immensely.” Aug 11, 2009 by
Jerry from Freeport,IL
“The hotel had wonderful public areas and lounge. The room was very small and our window faced an adjacent brick wall. Air conditioner did not really cool room very well and overall location was the saving grace for this hotel.” Aug 9, 2009 by
Michael from Springfield,IL
“This is a great hotel for any purpose, i.e., fun get away, busienss or just passing through. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. Service is top notch from all perspectives. Great location relative to Chicago's business centers and tourism attractions. I love it.” Aug 4, 2009 by
Benji from Rochester Hills,MI
“This hotel looks like it's a hundred years old. And the carpet looks it as well. I've stayed at Motel 6 that had nicer rooms. Lobby area, restaurants and all were 5-star, but the room was a cheap motel.” Jul 10, 2009 by
Melissa from De Pere,WI
“My husband and I stayed at Chicago Hilton and we were not impressed whatsoever, the room was dirty when we checked in, there were someones dirty gym shorts in a drawer and a pill of some kind on the entertainment center, there was pieces of paper on the floor. We also requested more towels, housekeeping knocked on the door, when we answered it she said she'd be right back, but never came back. Upon checking out, we did speak to a manager and she did offer us free breakfast buffets.” Jul 7, 2009 by
Marilyn from Lachine,Canada
“The hotel location was fantastic. Everything was walking distance. The hall and the common areas are spectacular. The only thing I didn't like: everything was extra money (and extra expensive): internet, luggage storage, gym, printing documents.” Jul 6, 2009 by
Marc from Cathedral City,CA
“This hotel was incredible and the staff was all very friendly and professional. The room and view was amazing.” Jul 2, 2009 by
Sandra from Las Vegas,NV

“This is a first class hotel with clean and attractive rooms. It is very convenient to all Michigan Avenue venues and has extensive elevator banks to allow easy access.” Jun 30, 2009 by
Arthur from Richmond,VA
“The staff was incredibly helpful, I felt, and would go out of their way to assist you. The room was large, roomy, and nicely arranged. It was very easy to leave cameras in a safety deposit box in the lobby (24 hour coverage).” Jun 30, 2009 by
Carrie from Dayton,OH
“The hotel staff was friendly and helpful the area is safe and clean. Beautifully decorated my daughter loved the pool area and the grandness of the hotel.” Jun 28, 2009 by

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chicago Hilton, particularly at a ridiculously low price. Initially we were set up for a room with two twin beds, but the desk clerk was able to find us a room with a king.” Jun 25, 2009 by
Rick from Troy,IL
“Nice hotel, friendly staff, great location.” Jun 25, 2009 by
Carolyn from Albuquerque,NM
“A huge hotel that does not make you feel like just another number. Very friendly and efficient staff, easy to get an elevator, wonderful rooms that were quiet - two bathrooms was a great feature. It was easy to go to the bar downstairs for excellent service and a light meal and not spend a fortune. Friendly doormen!” Jun 24, 2009 by
Andy from Lincoln,NE
“Great old hotel. Nicely decorated and furnished. Not as modern as other 4 star hotels. We were very impressed with the staff's responsiveness to our requests. Downsides were the AC was pretty old and more difficult to finely control. Also the bathroom did not have an exhaust so room got muggy after showers. We loved the hotel and would eagerly return.” Jun 24, 2009 by
Charlotte from Waterford,WI
“Very nicely appointed. When calling for assistance, help came within five minutes. I could actually use the pillow and slept comfortably. They have three ways to check out so there was no waiting.” Jun 24, 2009 by
Dana from Chicago,IL
“This particular Hilton property is less than accommodating when checking in. The hold placed on your credit card for incidental expenses is higher than most properties, despite the fact that the room is already paid for. Despite calling the hotel before my arrival and being assured a particular room, it wasn't available and was made to pay a fee for the upgrade. The Executive lounge staff was extraordinarily friendly, though.” Jun 19, 2009 by
Michelle from Dalton,GA
“The hotel is so nice that I would like to take my family back to enjoy the facility and area around it like Grant Park.” Jun 19, 2009 by
Rana from Peoria,IL
“The only thing that we did not like was the bed. We usually love Hilton Beds. This is the first time I had a backache for 24 hours post stay. Everything else besides the bed was fantastic.” Jun 17, 2009 by
Lawrence from Racine,WI
“We stayed at the Hilton on South Michigan, arriving late Friday night. We were starving and were told that the bar was only serving Buffalo wings and deep fried mushrooms at that time (11:30 pm). They appeared uninterested in serving us anything at all actually. They could not recommend any restaurants in the area, but they did offer room service if we ordered by 12 midnight. We ordered 3 beers, 1 hamburger, two 8 inch pizzas and a cheese plate and were charged over $100! I was stunned. In addition they charged us $55 for parking our car from 10:30 at night to 5:00 am the next morning.” Jun 16, 2009 by
Jennifer from Justice,IL
“Overall, +.” Jun 16, 2009 by
Molly from Wauwatosa,WI
“So great to drive into downtown Chicago, park car at hotel, and then to have so many fabulous spots within walking distance, grant park, millennium park (do not miss the gorgeous gardens there!), art institute, sheds aquarium, field museum, Buckingham fountain. View of sears tower while lying in bed! Less than a block from el to extend all the fun options available without having to drive or even taxi. Pool is basic, but very clean with rooftop deck. Although parking is pricey, it is to be expected for this prime location, it really is so stress free to be able to do so much and not have to worry about driving, more parking, etc. Great summer Chicago get away!”
