Jo from South Hadley, MA
“Beautiful building, good service, outstanding location for tourists and transportation. Two gorgeous parks and Lake Michigan within walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was outrageous charges for things like spring water left in the room, $7? $12.95 per day for Wi-Fi that wasn't all that reliable. I could have done without the nickel and diming.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Karyn from Elgin, IL
“Overall 9 out of 10. Very nice staff and beautiful lobby/room. We were upgraded for free on check-in to a king-sized room with a lake view. Bed was comfortable. Only complaint was the long line at check-in, and even though we had our confirmation number, the woman behind the desk had to enter info into the computer for at least 5 minutes before getting us our room.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Trevor from Spring Valley, OH
“Luxurious hotel right across the street from Millennium Park. Easy in and out of the parking garage, the Valet parking even helped me find a spot for our company van. Nice girl at the front desk. Only thing bad air conditioning sub-par in the room.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Chris from Terre Haute, IN
“Ok - I would have appreciated driving and parking directions.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Liz from Palatine, IL
“The hotel is of a good quality and our room was very comfortable. It is large and busy, but there was always staff available and the elevators never had lines. The location is best for visiting Mil Park - to get to the Mag Mile shopping by foot is a hike and you may want to take a cab or bus.” May 30, 2008 by
Paula from Niles, OH
“The room was comfortable and certainly worth the price, however, the room assignment was less than expected as I have previously stayed at this location and had a better room and a very pleasant.” May 27, 2008 by
Carrie from Sioux Falls, SD
“I would recommend this hotel to everyone. It is in a great location and very nice rooms and staff.” May 24, 2008 by
Markesha from Madison, WI
“I was with my sister and we absolutely loved that our room had 2 bathrooms! My complaints are minor. Parking was really expensive for self park and the parking deck was a concrete zoo. As a single woman I didn't really feel safe in the parking structure. But you certainly felt the security presence once inside the hotel. We got in late and their was a security officer checking for room keys at the elevator. The only other bad thing is that the hotel is huge and really spread out. It's a pretty long walk to the elevators depending on where your room is located. Everyone on staff was friendly. It's a beautiful hotel and the rooms are nice. I would certainly return again.” May 20, 2008 by
Ann from Champaign, IL
“Beautiful old hotel - lovely ambiance -great location.” May 17, 2008 by
E from Tallahassee, FL
“The Grand Ballroom is amazingly beautiful. The room was average-sized, maybe a little smaller than I'm used to, but not enough to hamper our enjoyment at all. (Traveling without kids, so space wasn't a prime issue for us.) We were able to check in early and were given our request for double beds and a non-smoking room, as well as an upgrade to a room with two bathrooms and a view of the lake (although the city view would have been great). The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was always a long line for the concierge; this is probably worse during prime tourist season. The only problem we had with the hotel is that it is a bit far from the Downtown loop, we had to walk a far distance or get transportation for most of our outings. It is about four or five blocks from the Art Institute, and allot further from everything else. It was also difficult to find places to eat after 10 or 11 in the area. I'm not sure if this was an issue with location, or with Chicago Downtown in general. Although we would have enjoyed being in the middle of the Downtown area, we would happily stay here again. Rooms were clean and pretty, beds were wonderfully comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful, cabs were always available, etc. We loved it!” May 16, 2008 by
Colm from Seattle, WA
“The hotel is located right on the park, within easy walking distance of all major destinations in downtown Chicago. The room was clean, it was on the smaller side, and had no view (unless a view of satellite dishes on adjoining buildings is your thing!). The check in staff were very robotic and failed to give a warm feeling at check in. Additionally, the hotel charges for services which I consider standard and should be free to residents. Luggage check for your bags after you've checked out ($ per bag) and WiFi ($3.75 for 1 hour!). The floor in Kitty O'Shea's restaurant was really bad - I ordered fries with a cheese dip and what arrived were over cooked homemade chips and a gooey cheap cheesy dip. I was expecting a nicer cheese dip and actual fries. All in all it's a good hotel, but it's really a 3 star rather than a 4 star hotel.” May 15, 2008 by
Erin from Oakville, ON CA
“Hotel was really nice and the room we stayed in was perfect for us, but you did here the train going by every 10 mins or so. It was very surprising what amenities were not included in such a deluxe hotel. We had to pay $15.00 every time you wanted to use the hotel gym and parking at the hotel was $42.00 for a day when you could park right across the street for $25.00, so that seemed a little ridiculous. When you stay in a deluxe hotel, you expect things to be included like gym privileges.” May 15, 2008 by
E from La Porte, IN
“The Hilton on Michigan in Chicago was luxurious and comfortable at the same time. It was posh, yet friendly. We would go again.” May 14, 2008 by
Marshelle from Eugene, OR
“Awesome staff. Friendly, helpful and sweet. I was extremely pleased with my stay and found the hotel room to be one of the best parts of my trip. It exceeded my expectations in every way and the staff was outstanding.” May 14, 2008 by
Mauro from St. Louis, MO
“Hotel parking is way too expensive. Every service cost extra at Hilton.” May 13, 2008 by
Nancy from Melbourne, FL
“Great location for all travelers, close to the train. Taxis were always available. Clean and attractive, the staff were just wonderful, friendly, excited and willing to help with any question.” May 12, 2008 by
Judith from West Bloomfield, MI
“This is a top notch hotel and for anyone who needs access to the Loop or South Michigan Avenue area, it's great.” May 9, 2008 by
Christopher from Port St Lucie, FL
“This hotel was perfect for my business trip. I was in walking distance to everything I wanted to see. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable.” May 6, 2008 by
Traci from Kokomo, IN
“The accommodations are quite nice and the hotel staff was very friendly. The centralized location is very nice for sightseeing along Michigan Ave.” May 6, 2008 by
Nicholas C. from Selden, NY
“The hotel is charming in an antique way, however, the rooms are poorly furnished with an overly cluttered appearance and layout. Staff is friendly but not anything special, other hotels with the same star rating will often have better service from a more attentive staff.” May 4, 2008 by
Aurora from Oswego, IL
“The room was hot at night and the staff said there was nothing they could do about it since the heat was still on and the air conditioning could not be turned on yet. They didn't do anything to make it better and just told us it wasn't their fault. The maintenance man came and shut off the heat & cracked 2 windows which made no difference and our room was over 2 loud fans so it was hot & loud.” May 3, 2008 by
Susan from Chicago, IL
“I live in the neighborhood. I am a member of the Hilton health club. Because my bathroom remodeling project left me without a shower or commode for one night (a night which I need these things!) I spent the night at the Hilton. Whether living on Printer's Row for 12 years or for bears games/Taste of Chicago in prior years when I lived in the suburbs, I've partied at Kitty's, brunched in the lobby and had cocktails with bears in the lobby bar. I'm blessed that I can afford such lovely accommodations.” May 2, 2008 by
Garry from Cedar Falls, IA
“We loved it here. Nice distance from great restaurants and so close to the park. Very easy to get to.” May 1, 2008 by
Sean from Burlington, IA
“Very beautiful. Rooms had 2 bathrooms for 2 couples. The staff was eager to help in anyway they could. Gave us directions to attractions and coupons too. Checked our room IDS for safety. Met a member of the staff on the street and helped us on her own time.” May 1, 2008 by
Cathy from Modesto, CA
“The hotel is nice, very accommodating and staff is friendly. The lines at the front desk were too long.” May 1, 2008 by
Mary from Muncie, IN
“We loved the hotel. Our room had a wonderful view of the lake. We could see from Soldier's Field to Navy Pier. The room was spotless and decorated very nice. The public areas were elegant with nice areas to sit and visit. Every staff member was exceptionally helpful and friendly. A wonderful classic hotel. Would highly recommend. Hope to go back and stay soon.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Jennie from Seattle, WA
“Hotel is clean, but very large and impersonal. They add extra charges for everything - parking (not surprising in Downtown), the gym, internet usage, phone calls to the front desk, etc. I felt like they were nickel & dimming us at every turn. The staff is surly and I wouldn't really consider this a luxury hotel - the W and Westins are much nicer. I think the experience would have been nicer if there hadn't been so many surcharges. I expect to pay for parking but some of the other stuff should have been included in the room rate. And the location wasn't that great - you are still a ways from the magnificent mile.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Tom from Grand Rapids, MI
“This is a wonderful old landmark hotel that has been well maintained. The room was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I wish there were more restaurants in the general area of the hotel. The location on the park is great.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Rebecca from Ann Arbor, MI
“Excellent hotel.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Kate. from Marion, IA
“Nice, clean, very friendly staff.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Dave from Springfield, IL
“High quality, good staff, comfortable room. Parking is outrageously high.” Apr 28, 2008 by
David from Durham, NC
“The Chicago Hilton was a great place to stay and would recommend it to anybody for any reason. For families the distance to your car in the garage can be a bit of a hike to get back into the hotel. $41.00 to park is a bit high considering on both corners behind the hotel parking is at most $17.00 a day and is actually easier to access the hotel from there!” Apr 25, 2008 by
Gunnar from Dixon, IL
“Room was very small and had two twin beds when I expected a King sized bed.” Apr 24, 2008 by
David from Elgin, IL
“This hotel was very nice, but felt a little old-fashioned. It was extremely large and was kept very clean, but it lacked a person touch. Very little staff around to help as well. The rooms were very clean, and the bathrooms were quite nice. However the rooms were very cramped. The beds were the best part of it all. One of the most comfortable mattresses Ive ever slept on. Probably would not stay here again.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Mary from Brooklyn, IA
“The hotel staff was wonderfully helpful and professional. The concierge was delightful. All staff were eager to assist. The Hilton name was very well represented. The Michigan Avenue location was awesome.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Jennifer from Indianapolis, IN
“This was a great hotel in a great location within walking distance of the major museums & Millennium Park. Staff was very friendly, the concierges gave great restaurant advice, and the room was very nice.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Srihari from Lafayette Hill, PA
“Very good location, near various Chicago transit lines. Across from famous parks, near various museums. Lots of nice places to eat nearby, and some lounges/bars as well nearby. Also, plenty of cheap places to eat nearby, if that's what you want.” Apr 21, 2008 by
E L. from Ann Arbor, MI
“Staff was very friendly and courteous and accommodated guest's request quickly. Room nicely decorated and well kept. Bathroom was an absolute treasure.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Kathleen from Walkerton, IN
“We were met with friendly competent staff to check us in. We loved our room. It had two double beds and two bathrooms. That is a plus when you travel with a teen. Then we went to concierge to get directions to a place to eat. She was helpful and understandable. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Mary J. from Demotte, IN
“For business it was perfect. I am not sure this would be the first place I would think to bring my family for vacation or overnight stay. I have two girls 14 and 10.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Carmen from Elkhart, IN
“Great hotel. I felt like the front desk got snooty when they found out.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Karen from Goshen, IN
“Loved the hotel! Very clean. Friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Beautiful indoor pool and hot tub area. The room we stayed in had 2 beds and 2 baths. Convenient location - across the street from Grant Park. Walking distance to museums and Millennium Park. My family will definitely stay at this hotel again!” Apr 14, 2008 by
Francie from Green Castle, MO
“The hotel, built in 1927, has a modern feel, with shiny marble and new (or very well maintained) carpeting throughout the public areas. There was an abundance of seating areas in the public areas, shops, an Irish pub, good restaurant, and lobby-area am coffee/pm drinks bar. Our room gave us a view of Lake Michigan and Grant Park. The room was clean, with two bathrooms, lovely linens, desk, TV and mini-bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. Valet parking and bellhop service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Sara from Minneapolis, MN
“This was a great experience that I will recommend to everyone.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Carolyn from Caneyville, KY
“Beautiful hotel. Well appointed rooms, clean. Having two bathrooms was great! The beds were very comfortable. Registration staff very pleasant. Kiosk for printing boarding passes is a plus. Would definitely stay again on future visits.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Lee from Noblesville, IN
“Great hotel to stay at. Very good location and very nice staff and accommodations.” Apr 11, 2008 by
Karon from Minneapolis, MN
“This is perhaps the loveliest hotel I've ever stayed in. The location across from Grant Park, overlooking Lake Michigan, and near the Art Institute was perfect. I also love the history of the hotel which has been the residence of choice for every President since Truman. The preservation of its classic features has been wonderfully blended with modern amenities.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Heather from Bay City, MI
“A very classy hotel.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Al from Redford, MI
“I was assured I would have a king size bed if it was available. That's fair. When I arrived, they said I could have a king bed but it would be an extra $25. Not Cool. The restaurant has great food but a bit expensive.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Bonnie from Naperville, IL
“I always love to stay at this hotel.” Hotel Representatives:
