• Great location, room had nice amenities, classy place!
• The room was a bit small & the noise of the city during the night.

“My husband and I were thrilled at the hotel we booked through priceline.com. It exceeded our expectations - especially for the great rate we landed! Would definitely love to stay at this hotel again. Bed was comfortable, nice sheets & pillows, classy hotel.”

• Location, lobby, rate, view, and the beds!
• Would love free parking, but not realistic in Chicago.

“The place to hang out during the day or at night. Plenty of elevators so never a wait - plenty of space for the guests to spread out. Starbucks, snack bar, and bar all in the lobby. Appeared to offer free internet in lobby, also! Discounted parking. Beds were awesome! Location can't be beat!”

• I liked the decor and the location and the price I payed.
• The pool was only open till 11 andI beleive there was not a hot tub which would have been nice

“We have stayed in MANY Marriott Hotels all over the world and have stayed in this one before. The lobby was very nicely renovated as were the rooms. The major drawback - cockroaches crawling all over the counter during the night!”

“The Downtown Marriott was supremely clean and well furnished. Staff was extremely helpful in finding restaurants and locating transportation. The pool and spa were beautiful and clean and Starbucks in the lobby was greatly appreciated.”

• Old facility, maintained but a bit drab.

“Had a problem with a toilet which clogged; initially staff unable to repair; up much of one night waiting for staff person to go back and forth with equipment. Finally got to bed at 5:30 am; also price of parking ($45 a day plus tax).”

“We love the location - walking distance to EVERYTHING was great! Tons of dining around and shopping. Train to Wrigley only a block away too. Room was a bit smaller than I had anticipated but beautiful and comfy and still nice!”

• Room was not overly clean; had a strange odor.

“Hotel is in a great location in Chicago. Close to the Grand L station and right on Michigan Avenue. Nice bar. Parking is very difficult, valet parking is available, but also difficult to get help and the valet parking is way over priced for the service that you receive.”

• Location and decor.
• The concierge desk opened late, and the lady there was unable to answer my train schedule question.

“The hotel was very nice and clean. The location was perfect for what we wanted to do right on Michigan Ave close to shopping, dining and the House of Blues. The people behind the desk and at the concierge desk could have been more helpful. But overall, we had a very good experience and would definitely stay there again.”

• We loved the workout facilities and steam room.
• Both days when we gave our room key for steam room the gal gave us back the wrong room key which was a pain to have security come up and show.

“This hotel is in a perfect location on the Miracle Mile. 5 minute walk to the river, 10 minute walk to Millenium Park. Rooms are beautiful and quiet. Staff friendly with a nice on-site restaurant. Free wifi in the lobby (not in the rooms). Excellent value.”

• The convenience of the location to tourist spots and it was a nice hotel.
• TV did not work properly, took forever for someone to fix it and took forever for room service to bring cups. Room service outrageously expensive.

“The Hotel was overall a great place. I was satisfied with the food especially the Marriott Burger was delicious. I expected everything to work properly like the TV, but it did not, I called for room service and it took over a 1 1/2 for them to fix it. I normally wouldn’t complain about this but it was 8 pm when I called and they didn't come till almost 10. Also it took forever for them to bring cups to my room. The actual room service for food was pretty fast. Other than that I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. It’s a beautiful place and the service when you get there is great. I recommend if you stay to use valet because it’s hard to move around in the city if your not use to a big city. Most things are in walking distance and for the things that are not there is a free trolley and you can also take a public bus that cost 2 dollars a person.”

• The most comfortable beds in the city.

“The Marriott was great. The rooms were fairly large for downtown Chicago, very modern and clean. Quite, didn't hear any doors slam during the night or any hallway noise and we were right by the elevator. Staff was friendly. Would definitely stay there again - great location.

• We parked our car in the valet parking and walked everywhere we wanted to go. It was convenient to everything.

“The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely accomodating. The hotel is located downtown so when we had our car valet parked, we could walk to where ever we wanted to go or the train station was right around the corner, so if we wanted to go somewhere that we could not walk to, we just hopped on the train.”

  Very comfortable rooms.
• They charged me $3 for a blueberry muffin. That's just retarded.

“Location is great, right between Michigan and Rush on Grand. It was great. Its just north of the Tribune Tower and about a 15 minute walks to Navy Pier. Two blocks to the State and Grand red line. Rooms are comfy, great beds, bathrooms were nice, and water pressure was good. All hotel workers were great. The only caveat: don't eat in the hotel lobby. They charged me $4.50 for a bowl of granola and $3.00 for a blueberry muffin. Just ridiculous because the muffin wasn't even good. Overall, great spot, close to lots of good food, lots of sights, the L, and the lake.

• Absolutely poor service and room conditions.

“We were put in a room right under the elevator shaft. Every time the elevator ran, it shook the entire room. We called down and they said they would send a technician up to look at it. I told them that it was behind the walls and not sure what a technician could do, but they indicated that they would like to start with that. We waited 45 minutes for the technician for the guy to say there was nothing he could do and he called down to has us moved. We waited another 50 minutes for someone to bring us a new set of keys. He walked us up one floor, but moved us to the same room by the elevator shaft. He said that if that room didn't work for us, there really wasn't anything else available. We were stuck in this room which woke us up every time the elevator was used. Very poor experience.”

• The bed was absolutely amazing. Very comfortable!
• Figuring out how to get to the valet parking area was confusing because of the one-way street.

“I had a very enjoyable experience at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally helpful. Late at night, I realized that I had forgotten some documents in my valet-parked car, and the attendant happily retrieved the car so that I could get them and even offered to get the documents himself and bring them to me. Also, the bed was amazing! I didn't want to get up in the morning. I would recommend this hotel based on the beds alone!”

• Noting to report- hotel was great.

“In the heart of the Magnificent Mile. Great for the traveler who wants to use the El from the airport. Transfer to the Red Line and exit at Grand then a short walk to the hotel. Easy to manage with small luggage. Knowledgeable friendly concierge staff. Wish they included a continental breakfast.”
