• The location was great and the smell of the hotel was very nice through out.
• The bathroom was smaller than I like.

“Location was great. The hotel pumps in some type of freshener that is very nice through out lobby and rooms. The hotel seems more suited for business as the hustle and bustle of the lobby can be a bit overwhelming at times. I would stay there again.”

• Convenient location to where I was going.
• Customer service is obsolete in this hotel - spoke with manager would never stay there again.

“Upon checking in the front desk staff had so much attitude toward everyone in line not just myself. I traveled with friends and they even got treated poorly. I own restaurants and if my employees treated me or another guest the way we were treated they would be terminated.”

• It was a perfect location, it was right downtown by all the shopping and restaurants.
• The hotel is hard to find if you are not familiar with the area, there should be a bigger sign.

• Tiny bathroom. Parking options could be better spelled out in advance.

“Excellent location within walking distance to everything (shopping, restaurants, Navy Pier, Millennium Park, Art Institute). Rooms, especially bathroom are small but views are nice. Call ahead for parking options to get the best deal. Value for the price.”

• The staff was helpful and friendly.
• Our room was right next to the elevators they were very loud and ran all night long.

“Overall the hotel was fine, the pool was very small and did not appear to be very clean. The hot tub was not very hot and was also not very clean the water level was very low (only about an inch or so above the jets). The staff was very helpful and friendly.”

• Location was very convenient to shopping and parking across street.
• Rooms were a little small.

“This was the first time I stayed at the Marriott downtown and I would go back. It was a very short walk to shopping and restaurants. I liked that parking was across the street and I didn't have to go underground to find it (26.00/day validated by Marriott). The rooms were not as nice as I would have hoped but they were very adequate. The staff was very nice and helpful. I stayed at the Hyatt a couple blocks away it was this December and it was nicer but the Marriott was closer to Michigan Avenue and shopping. Hyatt closer to Theater District.”

• Liked the fact I was able to switch to a room with a lake view without any delay.
• Although clean, the bathroom was smaller than expected.

• Small bathrooms, entrance on Rush Street had no sidewalk.

“Nice hotel. Bathroom a little small but ok. Elevators slow on day 1 but seemed to speed up. No fridge. Also no annoying candy tray either. Comfortable beds. Great location.”

“Our room was on the 36th floor and had a terrific view of the city. The location was perfect for Michigan Avenue shopping and dining. The hotel staffs were friendly and accommodating. Although pricy, the breakfast buffet was outstanding.”

• The decor was trendy and upscale, and every part was very clean.
• A lot of small children (under 2) in the pool without swim diapers. Others complained.

“Great location and everything (rooms, elevators, lobby, etc.) is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff was helpful, friendly, and efficient.”

• No refrigerators in room, took 2 calls to get a crib delivered to room.

“Overall a great hotel. I would return to this hotel in the future, as it is just blocks from where my brother-in-law lives and we can walk there. Very comfortable beds and rooms were clean. I wish there were small refrigerators in the room to keep the kids milk cold. Also, it took 2 phone calls to get a crib delivered to our room. It finally arrived at 3:30 AM.”

“We loved the location as well as the overall quality of the hotel. Our room was never cleaned the entire weekend. We did not have a do not disturb sign on the door. We called the front desk which assured us someone would be up when we left the room for the evening. That never happened. My husband left a message with the person at the front desk to have the manager call us when he was back at the hotel. We have never received a phone call from the manager.”

“It's a Marriott: Vanilla, boring, nothing at all outside the box. Lobby bar is handy. Parking is very confusing; you'll probably end up in the wrong place to start and have to move it $24 later. Joes' - across the street - is a total clip joint. Try the Armenian place around the corner.”

“I had problems with the first room I had and called the front desk, they were able to meet me on the new floor with the new key and were very apologetic. Hotel staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable. Very good extended weekend getaway.”

• Staff was extremely rude. Valet failed to lead us to correct self park costing us a significant difference since hotel staff wouldn't validate.

“Hotel disappointed based on star rating. Bathroom was extremely small in comparison to other 4 star hotels in this area. Found the hotel staff to be extremely rude and unhelpful. Would prefer not to stay at this hotel again.”

• Excellent location. Right by everything and only two blocks to the Red line.
• The rooms were a little cramped as well as the bathroom, but what can you expect in downtown Chicago?

“A really nice hotel located right on Michigan Ave and not far from the river and a little bit of a walk to Navy Pier (or you can take the free trolley). The best thing is the closeness to the train's red line. Very convenient and it only took us 15-20 min on it to get to Wrigley Ville. The red line stops a block from Wrigley as well. The staff was very friendly and the hotel lobby and bar was nice as well. The bed was comfortable. A little noisy but it's downtown.”

• Central location too many of Chicago's attractions. Within walking distant to many of the best restaurants I've ever eaten in.
• Elevators were irritatingly slow. Overnight staff at the front desk was not very friendly.

“I loved this hotel. The room was spacious and clean, with wonderful bedding that just begged to be slept in. When checking in the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Convenient entrances on Rush Street and Michigan Avenue make it convenient to catch a cab or get to the subway. Room service was prompt and well worth the charge. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.”

“This is a nice hotel. The front of it is not on Michigan Ave., but the backside is! Our room was very small. Despite the room being small, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable! We slept very well! Cannot beat the great location!”

“This recently remodeled hotel is very attractive. The location is great - within walking distance of everything in downtown Chicago. Rooms are clean and large with wonderful soft beds. Staff is very friendly and pool/exercise room is well equipped. Bathrooms are a little small, but overall a top notch place to stay.”

“I would stay at this hotel, again. Everyone, beyond the parking attendant when I left, was nice. Too bad, however, he was my last experience. Good room; convenient location. Really a lovely place to stay.”

“The location near Michigan Ave was convenient. There were 4 of us and we got a room with 2 double beds. The room was tiny and there was very little room to walk around the beds. There were big windows over looking the city but no mirror in the room at all. The bathroom was teeny tiny. In fact, you could hardly open the door without bumping the toilet. With 3 females, it was tough because there was no where to get ready (make up, hair, etc) except in the bathroom. We had to do everything one at a time so it took a long time to get going in the morning. A mirror in the room would have been helpful.”

• Location and general "buzz" of activity.
• Basic amenities were lacking, no coffee maker, etc. Elevators extremely slow (too few for the amount of guests).

“Its *very* convenient to shopping and dining and the lobby is always active, large central bar, wide-screen TVs. On the other hand, there seemed to be too few elevators for the amount of guests. They were fast enough, but there was always a long wait. No refrigerated drinks, no coffee maker, hard to find the low-watt hair dryer and the first night there was no shampoo.”
