• Friendly staff, very clean, comfy bed.
• Construction in the lobby area.

“Conrad Chicago was a great hotel with a friendly staff. Everyone at the hotel seemed to enjoy their job and was very helpful. The rooms were very sound proof and was not disturbed by the staff or other guest. They do their best to make sure you are happy and even provide a nice turn down service nightly. I'm excited to see the completed lobby and hotel, since it is currently under construction. This is a great hotel as far as convenience to shopping, restaurants, and the pier. I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Nice touch was the complimentary selection of pillows. Great location, and close to Subway.
• They had a computer glitch where I had to get my entry card reset. Also they had the front lobby under construction.

“The hotel, staff, and facilities were very accommodating. The fact that the front lobby was under construction, the staff was very accommodation and made sure they met your every need. The complimentary pillow selection was a nice touch. Very close to the subway, which was good for me, for I was attending a seminar near the O'Hare.”

• The location was amazing. The staff was exceptional. The hotel was clean and being renovated.
• The hotel was being renovated and the entrance was not located on Michigan Avenue. It was the street on lower level. The parking was not included.

“The hotel was definitely more than we expected. Location was exceptional. The rooms were nicely decorated and the bathroom was beautiful. The hotel staff was friendly, efficient and informative. The only negative was that the entrance to the hotel was difficult to find and was under construction. Our entire family enjoyed our stay in Chicago.”

“I think this was nicest room we have stayed at in Chicago. The beds were luxurious and comfortable. The rooms were spacious with lovely bathrooms. The location is wonderful and the Terrace Restaurant was a great place to have a before dinner drink and overlook the city on a summer night.”

• The rooms were abundant in size, very clean. Staff was courteous and helpful.
• Under construction, but didn't hinder us at all. No pool.

“Fresh and new with many amenities, including a wonderful roof top lounge. Great for dinks on warm evenings. The room was spacious and modern with a wonderful large bathroom. The large LCD/plasma screen TV with Bass surround sound was a great bonus. Obvious sense of an eco friendly hotel.”

• Large, luxurious rooms with excellent amenities.
• The mattresses did not seem to match the overall quality of the hotel.

“With luxuriously appointed rooms that provide a bit more space than similar hotels, the Conrad is a nice place to stay. Friendly staff and clean decorating provide an inviting atmosphere for a relaxing vacation or stress-free business trip. On the down side, the uncomfortable mattresses didn't seem to match the rest of the room.”

• Terrace on 5th floor was not romantic but was dark and played loud movies on Sun & Mon.

“Hotel met our expectations. They played an ear deafening action movie on both nights we were there (Sun & Mon) and kept the place so dark that our waitress had to bring a light to read the menu. We moved to the indoor bar and finished our food there. We mentioned this to the staff and were told that Sun & Mon nights were special action movie nights. Far from romantic for my wife and I who were celebrating a birthday.”

• Great location! The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Excellent experience.
• The staff was constantly knocking on my door and before I could answer they were using their passkey to enter. No coffeemakers in the room.

“I enjoyed this hotel so much after my daughter and I stayed the weekend for vacation that I stayed there again the following weekend for business. The location is fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and clean, the staff is welcoming and friendly. The restaurant and bars are very nice but very expensive. $15 for a glass of wine is a bit much. The service people do a great job but I've never had so many service people knocking on my door at all hours of the day and evening just checking on things. That's fine, but they need to give you a chance to answer them before they use their passkeys to enter the room.”

“This hotel is excellent. It is very modern and clean. The location is also excellent. However, it is hard to find initially due to the one way streets and construction. The only drawback is that it has no pool and the restaurant is pretty expensive.”

• The entrance to the hotel is very hard to find.

• The bathroom and sunken tub were awesome and the bed was very comfortable!
• Construction being done on the front entrance. It will be nice once it is done.

“The location was excellent. Also, if you wanted to spend the day in bed, the mattress was heavenly, not like any regular hotel mattress. If you have the time, indulge in one of the tub menu items. Very relaxing!”

• It wasn't clearly identified from the MI Ave entrance. We had to ask if we were in the correct place.

“The four-star rating was very accurate. The hotel is right in the center of the Magnificent Mile we didn't get into one cab the entire trip because everything of interest to us was within easy walking distance. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time.”

• This hotel had a great location for all the shopping at the Magnificent Mile in Chicago.
• I did not like that there was such little information about the hotel and its surroundings in the actual room.

“This hotel was perfect if you want go to shopping. There is a mall in the first 4 floors of the hotel. I would say it is also perfect for business because of its comfort and location.”

• Wonderful bed pillows and flat screen TV wonderful standalone shower and separate soaking tub.
• I found the room service food pricey but hey I live in Erie PA not Chicago.

“I had a wonderful time at this hotel. I will stay there next time in Chicago. great bed, pillows sheets finest softest cottons. bathroom had separate standing shower and soaking tub which was awesome. the icing was the 5th floor balcony (roof top) bar. What a great place for a cocktail amongst the towering buildings of center city Chicago. The view was breath taking at night.”

“Hotel staff was not rude, but it was also not very friendly. Had asked a room with double bed, but was told there was none available. Was offered a roll away bed that didn't end up getting delivered until 11pm. We were giving a handicap accessible room which did not have a bathtub.”

“This hotel is connected to a beautiful, upscale mall. The hotel staff did not tell us about this. We found out on accident. We actually could have gone from the hotel through a pedway into the mall and directly onto the magnificent mile (Michigan Ave). Why the hotel would not make us aware of this is beyond me. Also, when I checked in, the woman at the desk was very short with me and not helpful at all. The next person I spoke with, however, was extremely nice.”

“A gorgeous interior is hidden above a mall on Michigan avenue. The main hotel lobby is on the 5th floor. You can enter through the mall, or through the main entrance on the street west of Michigan. That main entrance is under construction as of July 2008, which was a little disconcerting upon arrival, but the hotel itself is in great shape and is run beautifully.”

“This was a really wonderful hotel! The rooms were comfortable and spacious. We were especially pleased with how quiet they were. The staff was all friendly and the front desk upgraded our room before we could make a request. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Chicago and wanting to be near Navy Pier and shopping.”

• The hotel's accommodations were great and the location is excellent.
• The hotel entrance is under renovation, but once completed should be excellent.

“My stay at the Conrad Chicago was very pleasurable. Hotel location is great and staff was helpful & friendly. Since I didn't have a car, I avoided the $48 daily charge. Room amenities were excellent and I liked the Moulton Brown toiletries. Flat screen TV & Bose sound system in room a plus along with 5th floor outdoor restaurant.”

• They put us in a handicapper room.

“Lovely hotel with the exception of the entry way which is under construction. We skipped valet parking ($48) and parked ourselves across the street, still pricey at $38/day. Beds are insanely comfortable. Our only gripe was being put in a handicapper room.”
