“This is a fun, playful, warm, inviting place to stay. It was a Cory respite in the city. Staff was friendly, personal, and super helpful in providing directions as well as booking tickets. Just a great place to stay in every way.”

• The interior decoration of the rooms was fantastic, the location is awesome, and the staff is the most helpful, friendliest staff ever.

“I stayed at the Hotel Monaco, part of the Kimpton chain, which proved an unexpected pleasure. Mine was a charming room with lots of fluffy pillows, gorgeous linens, and a goldfish in a bowl to keep me company. And women, take note Occitane products for the bath! Fabulous staff, especially concierge, who bent over backwards and sideways to ensure that I enjoyed my stay.”

• The staff was very friendly and we did like our room.
• Accepts pets although that fact did not affect us during this stay.

“The staff was exceptionally friendly during our stay. The room while not as large as others we have stayed in while visiting Chicago it was the nicest. We really liked the location of this property. Would definitely stay here again.”

• I loved the windows.
• The king deluxe room was a bit unattractive compared to the suites.

“Monaco is one the best hotels to stay in while in Chicago. I would suggest getting a suites because the King deluxe does not offer the huge tub. Overall, great experience!”

• They were very attentive to our needs, and courteous as well. Also pet-friendly.
• We liked it all!

“The staff was very friendly, attentive and courteous, and the rooms were not only upscale and clean, but very unique, the hotel was boutique-like, with a very French, and whimsical flair. They even had leopard and zebra-print bathrobes!”

• The hotel was just beautiful. The staff was very helpful.

“From the moment we stepped into this hotel, we were met by warm hotel staff. From the bellman outside who met us out of our rental car, to the bellman who brought our luggage to the room. There is a concierge on staff that was wonderful about giving us great places to go eat and things to do. The rooms were spacious and everything about it was wonderful. I would definitely go there again.”

• Noise - screeching railway tracks.

“Being kept awake all night long by the piercing screech, rattle/roar of the Chicago transit trains across the street and down the block destroyed my whole night. and the next day. Why are they so cheap that they cannot get decent soundproofing on their windows? It is far quitter to stay at the airport.”

• No pool at all, fitness center is small.

It is right off Wacker Drive, pretty close to Michigan Ave. Walking distance to almost all great places- Very clean rooms (not true for the elevators -- see cons)- Friendly staff- Amazing view -- we got a room that faces the Marina Towers Cons:- No pool at all (for a 4-star?)- Fitness center is small-”

• Better request a good view or you will be looking at the fire escape in the ally.
• Guest rooms were very small.

“We first got to our room and it was facing the ally and all we can see was the fire escape next to us. We asked if there was any way to get a better view of the city, they said it would be an upgrade which would cost more money. in conclusion. I was very disappointed with our room and would have rather gone to another hotel for cheaper.”

“It was everything that I hoped it would be! I enjoy boutique hotels. It felt very warm and comfortable. Chicago is the best and we had a great view. We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was very good as well.”

• Wished they'd left the complimentary tea and coffee out in the lobby past 9am! Very minor complaint-my stay was lovely.

• The service was exceptional, the rooms comfortable.
• I have food allergies. The restaurant charged me extra to substitute food that I could eat.

“I would stay in the hotel Monaco again. I would not eat at the south water kitchen, as I found the menu to be extremely limited and overpriced for the quality of the food that I was served. The staff at the hotel Monaco was extremely helpful, and the location was excellent.”

• It was me and my son who is 5 so I got to enjoy some relaxing things in the room and he loved the bed in the window which he said was his room. All of.
• My son is 5 and he was looking so forward to the goldfish upon arrival which we did not get. No childrens menu selections.

• There was no fan in the bathroom.

“The Hotel Monaco provided the perfect romantic getaway for my wife and I to celebrate our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Located centrally between the theaters and shopping venues on Michigan Avenue, it was both a great value AND a glamorous setting! The staff was knowledgeable and kind. We also enjoyed the little perks, like the free cocktail hour and groovy robes. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return.”
