- Safety - no responsibility or no accountability.
“We will not be staying at a Westin again as our experience here has been a negative one. Neither the hotel or the parking company hired by the hotel would be accountable for the theft. It is our impression that they will hire dishonest employees. We had $350 worth of property stolen.”

- The service received at the hotel was top notch. Everyone that we encountered was eager to help us whenever we had a question.
- Our room included breakfast for two which was nice, but $30 for our 2 children was too high to pay.
“Would recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel. The service is top notch and the rooms were great!”

“This hotel was perfect for our shopping trip along the Magnificent Mile and of course American Girl. They also were extremely helpful in setting us up with a cab to go see our favorite "Cubs" at Wrigley. Will definitely stay at the Westin again on our next trip to Chicago.”

- It will be nice once the remodel is completed.

“This was a great location for us. It's just a couple of blocks from the Chicago Market where we were going. It's a little far from Michigan Ave, Navy Pier, Sears Tower etc but taxi prices were reasonable to any of these location. All hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Extras were expensive Internet access was $11.95 and the fully stocked bar/snack center in the room had water for $5.50 a bottle, candy bars, chips $4, small bottle of wine $18. There was a CVS right down the street to purchase snacks, water, etc. Overall great hotel. Would stay there again.”

“Everything was great except the second day we were not left any wash cloths so I called to get some, no one came, I called the second time because I had children to bathe and get to bed. I would have expected quicker service at such a nice place. Also the parking was very expensive!”

- Was in a central location for downtown shopping.
- Too much construction was going on around the facility.
“The hotel charged us for parking when we were dropped off by family. Parking was $42.00 per day. The front desk never ask if we had a car they did remove this from my card. Breakfast was $20.00 per person ages 6 and up. The buffet was not great for the price and very minimal breakfast facilities in the area. Overall was okay we would stay there again just review the area a little better next time.”

- No internet. They charge to use the gym, no pool.
“Very clean and upscale, but they overcharge for the mini bar. The gym is not available unless you pay 10 dollars and they want to charge 10 dollars for the internet. It not good for business. They also did not have a pool. The location is great near clubs and easy to access things in Chicago.”

- The decor was very trendy.
- I was placed in a room were I heard construction most of the time. I was in the room and there was no amenities in the hotel.

- Front desk staff was horrible. I had to talk to upper management because of the way my credit card photocopied.

- Valet parking. They wrecked my car $6,000 damage! Ruined the stay.
“This will depend whether I receive satisfactory treatment with regard to the wrecked vehicle. I am extremely mad, right now, due to the damage. For such a high end hotel, I would have thought the valet service would have hired careful drivers. I am now left to pick up the pieces, i.e. getting estimates, probably having to argue with an insurance company over the repair costs, setting up repair times, losing the use of the vehicle, etc. I have better things to do and should not have to deal with these issues. The valet service will just turn over matters to their insurance company and go about their business.”

“The Westin on North Dearborn is located across from the House of Blues and a few blocks' walk from the famous Magnificent Mile on Michigan avenue so it's a great location. Most rooms overlook the river, which enhances your experience. The staff is extremely courteous and friendly. I have always liked the Westin's beds and shower heads and this one was no exception. The food is decent - but their room service hot chocolate is the absolute best! Finally, the decor is modern, chic and stylish - be it the elevators or the lobby and I fell in love with the hotel!”

“Everything was great until we paid the hefty valet parking rate. Got on the road and discovered that all my change that I had put inside a compartment on Friday was now gone. I choose to keep my vehicle in their parking (which was more costly) because I thought it would be safer than street parking garages. Not so!”

- Bed was extremely comfortable. Room was clean.
- Room smelled like smoke. It must have been a smoking room in the past.
“The hotel was great for the price. We got two rooms; both were similarly decorated and were spotlessly clean. Although the hotel does not offer smoking rooms, they must have in the past because one of the rooms smelled a bit like smoke. Regardless I am very pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay there again.”

“I was very pleased as when I arrived I had a cast on my leg and the attendant at the desk asked if I needed a special room or needed anything special during my stay. Everyone was very courteous and friendly. I would strongly recommend this hotel to others. It was a very enjoyable stay. Thank you Westin.”

- The hotel overall was nice and in good condition. Location was excellent.
- The room was not quite 4 star. Needed a bit of a facelift.

- I liked the location of the hotel with proximity to shopping and restaurants.
- I really had hoped there would be a pool or spa (hot tub) and there was not.
“Overall I feel that this hotel is very nice and in a great location in Chicago. The room was very nice, clean, and had all modern conveniences including a flat screen television.”

- Friendly staff & convenient location.
- Smoke tinted windows distorted perception of outside weather.
“Front entry was a bit inconvenient if walking in from Dearborn St. to get to elevators. Smoke tinted windows caused outside weather to look overcast. Chicago needs no help in that department in the Spring. Location to RiverNorth, Magnificent Mile and Loop was very convenient.”
