“Beautiful hotel, great friendly staff. Good location within walking distance to many activities. Had to pay extra for internet and to use the fitness room which we thought was ridiculous for what the room cost. Overall, we had a good experience.”

• No pool, no hot tub, no complimentary wireless.

“Everything we saw and utilized was great. No pool, no hot tub, no complimentary wireless. Those are pretty standard items for even the cheapest hotels nowadays, so we were disappointed they weren't available here. Beside those things, the hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.”

“They gave us the celebrity suite for the night and free breakfast for four in the morning. The next were moved out of the suite and given a deluxe room with a fabulous view. They were very friendly and understood our requests clearly. Great staff.”

• I liked the decorating and the colors of the lobby and hallways.
• The bathroom door- too low to the floor, needed to be shoved to open all the way which caused loud squeaking noise. The towels were frayed, looked bad.

“Upon arriving we were pleased with the atmosphere of the lobby. During the day, the counters were full of people with questions and not enough staff to assist. They use the Sheraton's parking lot down the street causing at least a 20 minutes wait for your vehicle. They offer no self park, only valet. The food was way too expensive so we decided to walk to a nearby restaurant. That's nice in the summer, not so nice during Chicago's winter months.”

• The helpful staff and the walkabilty to shops.
• When I called to ask for a room on the 18th floor or higher I was told that I had to be there but when we arrived I was told it would be extra $.

“The hotel was very nice. The staff was very helpful. Some construction work round the building made walking a little unfriendly. Over all, we enjoyed our stay.”

• The bellmen, valet and Luggage associates were excellent. Friendly, informative and just all round a reason to come back.
• Parking was not included.

“Parking was not included in price. No pool. Other than that; A great experience. Clean room, hall ways and lobby. Frie+V1210ndly staff. Concierge was not well informed about places to eat or entertainment.”

“Westin's are always great, but the staff at this hotel was particularly helpful and warm and friendly. I have stayed at all kinds of wonderful hotels in Chicago, but this was my first time at this Westin. I would definitely go back.”

• There was no pool.

“This hotel was quiet, comfortable and clean. Our particular room needed some small repairs in the bathroom and stain removal near the wet bar, but again, it felt very clean. Staff was friendly. I was disappointed that there was no pool. I was looking forward to a swim without having to watch my children, who weren't with us. Location was within reasonable walking distance to the Theater District, Michigan Avenue, Museums, the river, etc. Clean, comfortable, quiet and elegant, but not over the top.”

• The location on the river and the views were spectacular.
• I had requested early check-in but still had to wait most of the day before being able to get into the room.

“We will not be staying at a Westin again as our experience here has been a negative one. Neither the hotel or the parking company hired by the hotel would be accountable for the theft. It is our impression that they will hire dishonest employees. We had $350 worth of property stolen.”

• The service received at the hotel was top notch. Everyone that we encountered was eager to help us whenever we had a question.
• Our room included breakfast for two which was nice, but $30 for our 2 children was too high to pay.

“This hotel was perfect for our shopping trip along the Magnificent Mile and of course American Girl. They also were extremely helpful in setting us up with a cab to go see our favorite "Cubs" at Wrigley. Will definitely stay at the Westin again on our next trip to Chicago.”

“Our river view room was a great view of the city. The heavenly beds are unbeatable for sleeping. All staff we encountered were friendly and eager to accommodate. Our stay in Chicago was enhanced by this excellent hotel.”

• It will be nice once the remodel is completed.

“This was a great location for us. It's just a couple of blocks from the Chicago Market where we were going. It's a little far from Michigan Ave, Navy Pier, Sears Tower etc but taxi prices were reasonable to any of these location. All hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Extras were expensive Internet access was $11.95 and the fully stocked bar/snack center in the room had water for $5.50 a bottle, candy bars, chips $4, small bottle of wine $18. There was a CVS right down the street to purchase snacks, water, etc. Overall great hotel. Would stay there again.”

“Everything was great except the second day we were not left any wash cloths so I called to get some, no one came, I called the second time because I had children to bathe and get to bed. I would have expected quicker service at such a nice place. Also the parking was very expensive!”

• Was in a central location for downtown shopping.
• Too much construction was going on around the facility.

“The hotel charged us for parking when we were dropped off by family. Parking was $42.00 per day. The front desk never ask if we had a car they did remove this from my card. Breakfast was $20.00 per person ages 6 and up. The buffet was not great for the price and very minimal breakfast facilities in the area. Overall was okay we would stay there again just review the area a little better next time.”

“We enjoyed our stay at the Westin. It was an ideal location right on the river and close to public transportation. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfy, the shower was great, the staff was helpful, the only down side was the lack of a pool, since we were traveling with kids.”

• No internet. They charge to use the gym, no pool.

“Very clean and upscale, but they overcharge for the mini bar. The gym is not available unless you pay 10 dollars and they want to charge 10 dollars for the internet. It not good for business. They also did not have a pool. The location is great near clubs and easy to access things in Chicago.”

• The decor was very trendy.
• I was placed in a room were I heard construction most of the time. I was in the room and there was no amenities in the hotel.

“I normally love to stay in Westin hotels, but this was the worst stay ever! I was placed in a room were I heard construction most of the time I was in the room and there was no amenities in the hotel. I was treated poorly by the front desk staff.”

“It was fine, not the best for a 4 star hotel. The lobby seemed dark, the lounge waiter was unfriendly. But, it was a great location and we didn't spend that much time at the hotel itself.”

• Front desk staff was horrible. I had to talk to upper management because of the way my credit card photocopied.

“The actual hotel was very nice, but I felt the service was horrible. They were not going to let me have my room just because the photocopy of my credit card, which is dark blue with black #'s, was difficult to read to cover incidentals.”
